Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is back from Italy, having gone there to try to enlist Summer, Phyllis's (Michelle Stafford) daughter. The trip wasn't a big success, but Victoria is wasting no time in getting back into the thick of things on The Young and the Restless now that she's once again in Genoa City. Victoria checked in with her father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), first. She informed him that while Summer wants nothing to do with her mom, she wrote a scathing letter that will hopefully sway Phyllis. Victoria learned that her mother, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), and her father were having problems. If you thought that Vicki would side with her mother over Jack being kidnapped, you've got another thing coming! Vicki and Nikki connected at the Genoa City Athletic Club to catch up. A still semi-livid Nikki recounted Jack's kidnapping and how Victor had gone too far -- especially as the ordeal caused a rift in Jack and Diane's (Susan Walters) marriage. Rather than take her mother's side, Vicki, employing a gentle but effective patrician tone to her demeanor, leaned into what her dad did wasn't all that bad -- especially as it got him Chancellor Industries back in his control. And if Jack and Diane were having problems, well, perhaps that was Jack's doing, Vicki said. We haven't seen a passive/aggressive stance like this from someone since Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) was on the scene. She had a similar take on events surrounding her. Nikki was stunned that her daughter couldn't see that, in this case, her father was in the wrong. Usually, this mother/daughter team is on the same page. This latest twist has isolated Nikki even further from her family. She's at odds with Victor, her son, Nicholas (Joshua Morrow), is out of town, and now, Vicki is refusing to see her father in a negative light. How is Nikki going to turn this around?
