Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

It took a long time for Smilin' Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) to find the right woman, settle down, and have a lasting relationship on The Young and the Restless. He found that woman in Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters). While the two have a strong partnership and marriage, it's far from perfect. All it takes for Jack's ex, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), to show up for Jack and Diane to have some must-see drama. That's what happened today when Diane reminded us that the major difference between herself and Jack is that she has no patience for Nikki. Walters reminded us why she's a Daytime Emmy winner as soon as Diane walked into the Abbott living room and spied Nikki in an embrace with her husband. Her look was worth a thousand words! After making some digs at Nikki over her disdain for her and the Newmans over the whole Victor/Jack feud, Diane had some alone time with Jack. Our favorite part was when she summed up Nikki, complete with voice inflections. "The sad eyes, the quiet bravery," Diane pointed out. And then, altering her voice to sound like Nikki, Diane said, "You're the only one who understands her!" Imitating someone in an unflattering way, as Diane did to Jack with Nikki, is the surest way to get your point across. Bam! Diane is all for helping Jack in his battle against Victor, but she's had it thinking that Victor's wife is going to be an ally to the Abbotts! Brava to Susan Walters for Diane's takedown of Nikki!
