Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless has been showing us a very, very strong Victoria Newman, played by two-time Daytime Emmy-winner Amelia Heinle, in recent weeks. She's taken the lead in going up against Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), who has taken Newman Enterprises, Chancellor Industries, and Newman Media from the Newmans. Victoria blasted Phyllis in Victor's (Eric Braeden) office (well, Phyllis's office, now), pointing out to her that Phyllis had always been given things by men -- Jack (Peter Bergman), Nick (Joshua Morrow), Billy (Jason Thompson), and now Cane (Billy Flynn). Bam! This was an incredibly forceful moment! Next, Victoria blasted Billy for being Phyllis's accomplice in the takeover -- all so he could have Chancellor Industries and Newman Media for himself. Vicki played some serious hardball when she informed her ex that she was going to let their children, Johnny (Paxton Mishkind) and Katie (Sienna Mercuri), know exactly what their father had done! This is a tactic right out of her dad's playbook! The business/power stories on Y&R mean nothing if characters aren't going to use the interpersonal dynamics between one another as leverage! Alas, today, Vicki informed Nate (Sean Dominic) that she wasn't going to bring her kids into the drama. Insert face palm emoji here! Instead, she's sending them back to boarding school. What a missed opportunity. All Vicki has done by backing down or changing strategies is send Billy a message that she's not willing to do whatever it takes to get him to see the light. It's too bad Vicki didn't inherit just a little bit more of her father's ruthlessness on The Young and the Restless.
