Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Billy Abbott's (Jason Thompson) dreams of taking over Chancellor Industries suddenly became potentially irrelevant on The Young and the Restless once he learned from Sally (Courtney Hope) that his mother, Jill (Jess Walton), had taken ill. Sally urged Billy to reach out to his mom to let him know how he truly feels. The show treated viewers to flashbacks (effectively shown in black and white; sure, we flash back in real life in color, but black and white on a soap opera reminds us that it's a scene from the past). Billy remembered a scene in which Jill recounted to him that she had tricked John into having another child (Billy). She was looking forward to making up for the mistakes she had made with Phillip (Thom Bierdz). Back to the present, Billy picked up his phone and called her. "Hi, Mom," Billy said. "Yes, I'm aware that I just called you, 'Mom.'" In between commercial breaks, Billy got up to speed directly from Jill about her health issues. He promised not to do anything that would cause her any additional stress. Billy was silent as his mother was obviously saying something emotional to him. "I know you do," Billy said, trying not to let the crack in his voice be heard. (We're guessing that Jill said, "I love you" to her son.) Will this development prompt Billy to change his mind and turn Cane (Billy Flynn) down regarding his offer to run Chancellor Industries? Or is he more determined than ever? We suspect that either decision will be based on how much he truly does love his mom.
