Welcome to The Young and the Restless Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick -- and by that, I mean you're already halfway done -- recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today's episode. Let's get to it:
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) is riding high in Genoa City right now! She’s in the power position, and she’s having way too much fun than should be legally allowed on Y&R. Well, come to think of it, what she’s been doing probably isn’t legal, but until she’s caught, Phyllis is enjoying her run. Today’s episode started with Phyllis treating Cane (Billy Flynn) like he was an administrative assistant who forgot to pick up her dry-cleaning. She’s not carrying much emotional attachment to someone with whom she’d been intimate. It may be easier for Phyllis to shut off her personal emotions with Cane when she knows she’s in the driver’s seat. Phyllis tended to messages on her phone while she was talking to Cane. That’s kind of rude (something many of us are guilty of doing), but it’s nice to see Phyllis tending to business as the head of Newman Enterprises Summers Conglomerate. Next, Phyllis spied Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) arriving at the Genoa City Athletic Club with a few pieces of luggage. Forget about the GCAC’s chocolate cake – Phyllis was savoring seeing strife between Nikki and Victor (Eric Braeden). She didn’t give Nikki an inch as the blonde beauty chastised the redhead for her wicked ways. Finally, Phyllis popped over to the Newman Ranch to meet with Victor himself. It’s hard to remember a time when Victor, Nikki, and Phyllis were in business together (remember NVP?). Now, Phyllis is perfectly fine being a solo act. She’s got nearly everyone groveling at her feet, and not only is she having fun lording her power over Genoa City, but we’re having fun watching her!
