The Young and the Restless' Audra Charles is a woman who always grabs our attention, no matter who her scene partner is. We never get bored when she's in an episode. Here are five things that we love about Audra.
She is a good friend to Sally on The Young and the Restless

Sally (Courtney Hope) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) have one of the closest friendships in Genoa City. Audra was a source of comfort and support to her after Sally broke up with Billy (Jason Thompson). She's a good listener and tries to give Sally encouraging words during difficult times. Audra even told Billy that he was an idiot to let Sally get away. She always shows Sally how much she values her friendship.
It will be interesting to see how well these two besties work together at Spectra-Charles Media. Will their professional relationship be as solid as their personal one?
Her feisty personality makes her scenes entertaining

The second we see Audra appear in a scene, we know it's going to be a fun one to watch. Her fiery gestures and zesty personality never fail to entertain us. Between her storyline involving Holden (Nathan Owens) and her arguments with both Claire (Hayley Erin) and Kyle (Michael Mealor), Audra's colorful persona is always on full display.
Some Y&R fans fast-forward scenes they find boring, but that's never necessary when Audra is onscreen. She has a talent for keeping fans on the edge of their seat with her outspoken personality.
She makes her male scene partners more interesting

Audra has had countless stormy interactions with male characters on The Young and the Restless. Even the ones who are unpopular with some fans, like Kyle, come to life more when they share a scene with Audra. She brings out their energy and inner fire. We saw a similar scenario in her scenes with Tucker (Trevor St. John) when he was on the canvas a few years ago.
This is also the case in her scenes with Holden. Sometimes we wonder why the Y&R writers haven't paired them up romantically. Their deadly L.A. secret bonds them, and when they argue about the importance of keeping it under wraps, we feel sparks fly between them.
In Kyle's case, he and Audra seem to be physically attracted to each other, but they loathe each other. When Audra's advances broke up him and Claire, we saw many scenes where he fumed at her and even threatened to run her out of Genoa City. Some Y&R fans enjoyed their chemistry and wondered whether he and Audra were going to resume the affair they had when he separated from Summer (Allison Lanier) in 2023. Will it still happen?
She didn't grow up with a silver spoon in her mouth

A couple of months ago, we had the rare opportunity of hearing Audra reflect on her sad childhood in a conversation with Holden. Unlike so many of Genoa City's residents, she grew up in a poor household. Her parents worked multiple jobs to support the family. The rich girls in Audra's neighborhood made fun of her hair and clothes. They made her feel like she didn't belong and didn't fit in with them.
Money was so tight that Audra even resorted to stealing clothes. She wanted so badly for the other girls to accept her, but they never did. That's why she hates women like Claire, who have a privileged family, even though Claire herself had a horrible childhood with murderous Aunt Jordan (Colleen Zenk) as her caretaker.
When Audra was older and working, she returned to the stores she'd stolen from, and she bought clothes that she donated to charities that support women in need. Her backstory showed us a different side to her, a caring and humane side that we rarely get to see. It also gave us the reason why she has tough skin and doesn't always let people in.
She has the funniest nicknames for Claire

While some fans of The Young and the Restless can't stand Audra because she's known as a schemer and a trouble-maker, we love her sense of humor and the little digs she makes about her enemy, Claire. In almost all of her scenes with Holden, she refers to Claire with one funny nickname or another. We've heard Audra call her crazy Claire, a doe-eyed ditz, little miss sunshine, and Claire bear. This is somewhat reminiscent of the time when Mariah (Camryn Grimes) gave Summer the nickname "snowflake."
If Claire reunites with Holden and later discovers the L.A. secret that he and Audra are keeping, will Audra dream up yet another nickname for Claire? We can't imagine what it could be. Audra always keeps us guessing. That's another reason why we love her!
