On The Young and the Restless, mariah has been released ino the care and custody of her mother, Sharon, was this the right decision?
What happened on The Young and the Restless

I am absolutely living for the drama on The Young and the Restless right now because Mariah (Camryn Grimes) is literally tethered by that legal ankle monitor but for real it has to be the crushing sense of remorse that is really doing the heavy lifting here and I love what they did by showing her past choices finally catching up to her in full force!
It is such a sobering sight for fans who have watched Mariah struggle to find her footing ever since Dominic (Ethan Ray Clark) was born and while that physical restraint of the ankle bracelet is a constant reminder of her legal standing, I think we can all agree the weight of her own guilt is the much heavier burden to carry. I don't think this will be the end of Ian Ward (Ray Wise) either, he's too much the perfect villain to write off and there is so much more room for him to further manipulate Mariah.
Sharon (Sharon Case) is back in full protective mother mode and she is also being the seasoned professional we know she is by refusing to let her daughter drown in this latest wave of despair because she is so acutely aware that the first facility Mariah checked into was a total and complete failure and it really just provided a temporary bandage for what we all know is a deep-seated psychological wound.
Sharon Is On The Case

Sharon is now on a mission to secure the specialized treatment Mariah actually needs, but of course, the path to recovery is being blocked by a massive blonde-haired obstacle in the form of Abby (Melissa Ordway), and I just love how tense this is getting! Will Abby be the voice that sees Mariah get a custodial sentence instead of the treatment she needs at a care facility? Or will she soften her stance? For the mothers out there, would you react the same as Abby?
The tension became a little too much during a scene that I found so difficult to watch because Mariah and Sharon’s decision to just "show up" at Abby and Devon’s home was way beyond dangerously inappropriate and with Dominic right upstairs the atmosphere was awkward and with a level of discomfort that bordered on the bizarre.

Seriously, what made Sharon think this could be a good idea? Abby’s reaction wasn't just believable, it was relatable as well; it was the angry edge of a mother who feels her sanctuary has been totally violated, and from where I'm sitting, I get where she is coming from!
Abby has made her position crystal clear and there is just no room for forgiveness right now even though Devon (Bryton James) might be more inclined to see the nuance in Mariah’s mental health struggles because Abby is operating on pure instinct and anger and she cannot fathom how Mariah thought showing up at the house was acceptable especially with that ankle monitor highlighting the danger she believes Mariah still poses to their family unit.
For Mariah, the road back to Genoa City’s good graces looks longer and steeper than ever before, and I cannot wait to see how this plays out next week! How do you feel after seeing Mariah walk into Abby and Devons house with her mother? Did it make you gasp and yell out, " Oh no, you did not ?"
