The Young and the Restless Recap August 4: Nick Says Goodbye to Noah

Here's what happened on The Young and the Restless episode on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, as Nick received a surprise visitor in rehab, Victor called out Adam, and Jack and Nikki caught up with one another.

What Happened on The Young and the Restless

At Crimson Lights, Noah and Mariah questioned Sharon as their mother appeared to have a lot on her mind. Sharon said that she was okay with Noah leaving town (again). Sharon noted that she was thrilled that Mariah was home, and she was happy about that. However, she added that she hated a little or a little more than a little that Noah was leaving town. Noah added that he didn't plan on telling Nick was leaving. He didn't want to interfere with his father's recovery.

Noah told Sharon to give Nick an excuse as to why he's not coming to see him in rehab. Sharon and Mariah tried to point out the folly of his plan, but he said his mind was made up. Then, Sienna joined them. Sienna said it was great that Mariah was back living at home with Sienna.

Sharon said that she knew about Noah and Sienna's mood. Sienna asked to speak to Sharon in private. Noah asked Sienna if everything was okay. Sienna assured him that everything was fine. Mariah and Noah left, leaving Sienna and Sharon alone.

Clearing the Air

Sienna had two things to say to Sharon: "Thank you," and "I'm sorry." Sharon said that Sienna didn't have to be sorry. Sienna thanked Sharon for her kindness and hospitality. She knew that Sharon and Nick were both concerned, given her past with Matt.

Sharon said she knew what it was like to want to feel accepted. Sienna said that she asked Noah to stay. Sharon said nobody thinks that Sienna wants to take Noah away from his family. Sharon said she'd feel better knowing Matt's in a different town. Sharon and Sienna noted that they've both been Matt's victims.

Sienna said seeing the new Matt reminded her of what it was like seeing the good parts of the old Matt when she knew him as Mitch. Sharon said that Sienna was the victim of a bad situation. Sienna noted that Matt will sound sincere. She needed to get away from that. Sharon said that if Sienna left alone, Noah would be heartbroken. Sienna thanked Sharon for being so understanding.

Sharon shared that she could relate to Sienna's position, as she was once considered by Nick's family, particularly his mother, Nikki, to not be good enough for Nick. Sienna said that Sharon never judged her -- well, maybe there was a hint. Sharon resented that Matt was running Sienna and Noah out of town, but they had a right to live their lives. Sienna asked Sharon how she felt about Matt being in town. Sharon said that she wasn't going to let him run her life. Sharon said they don't know for sure if Matt had changed.

Noah and Mariah returned. Sharon, Sienna, and Mariah agreed that Noah needed to tell Nick about his plans. At the rehab, Nick asked an aide if he could find his doctor as he needed help with a craving.

Jack and Nikki Went Up a Hill

At Chancellor Park Cafe, Victoria was glad that her parents, Victor and Nikki, were going to Italy. Nikki told Vicki that Nick is in a fragile state. She hated that she and Victor were leaving town, but she could worry about Nick in Venice as well as she could in Genoa City.

Jack came by and hugged Nikki. He was thrilled that she had her sight back. Jack told Nikki not to fuss over him. Jack told Vicki that her mom was amazing. Nikki asked about Diane; Jack said she was fine and there were no long-term effects of the digitalis. Victoria asked Jack to look after Nikki before leaving.

Alone, Jack and Nikki caught up. Jack asked how things were between Nikki and "grumpy," referring to Victor. Nikki updated Jack on her and Victor's relationship. She said they rediscovered their love. Jack reminded Nikki that she had had enough. She agreed. Nikki did agree that Victor should not have brought back Patty. Jack said that Victor would never change.

Jack said that he was confused and disappointed as Victor brought pain to Nikki. She said that Victor said he loved her more than he hated Jack. Also, Victor agreed to end the fight. Jack asked if Victor was sincere.

Nikki said that she only went back to Victor because he said that he was ending the feud. Nikki noticed a bird. Jack suspected it was a Morning Dove. Nikki said that it was a symbol of peace. Jack wondered if there could be peace for both families.

Loose Lips Sink Sally's Ships

Victor spied Billy at Society and congratulated him for being thrown a scrap by hiring him at Chancellor Industries. Victor said that Billy had conspired with Phyllis to take Newman Enterprises away from him. The mogul provoked Billy by pointing out that he was taking scraps from Cane.

Victor called Billy a loser; he countered that his life was pretty great right now. Victor said that both he and Billy knew that Jill wished Cane were her son. Victor said that Sally handed over Newman Media assets. Billy said that not everyone will cower when Victor throws around threats. Billy rubbed it in Victor's face that Adam lied to him. Billy raised his voice when he said that he paid Audra and Sally to get Newman Media assets. Billy said that Sally got the better of him.

Victor urged Billy to focus on his own business matters. Billy said that Lily could do whatever she wanted. Victor announced that Cane was the more competent businessman. There will be a mess that Victor will have to clean up, as always. "Be prepared to lose, again," Victor said. "I always am," responded Billy as Victor walked out.

High Society

At Society, Noah asked Mariah if she felt good being back in town. Mariah said that she did. Noah said he never doubted her and that he didn't think she missed the family drama. Mariah said that she needed her space, but she needs her family, too.

Noah said that he'd been waiting all day for someone to talk him out of leaving. He felt that he was leaving them hanging. Mariah said that he wasn't and that if Nick and Sharon needed him to stay, they would. Noah noted that Nick didn't know he was leaving. Noah wondered what if Matt truly had changed? Then, they'd be stuck with him.

Mariah said that she knew what it was like to be haunted by a maniac (Ian). She's sorry that she wasn't here for Noah. In turn, Noah said it bothered him when he wasn't around when Sharon was going through what she did with Ian Ward. Mariah said she felt bad about that. Noah also felt bad that he wasn't there when Cameron Kirsten came back. Mariah said that a lot had been kept from him. She didn't want him to feel guilty. Noah noted that leaving town while his dad was in rehab wasn't a good look. Mariah said that she'd miss Noah. He told her to come visit him in LA and to bring Aria.

Adam's in Trouble

At the ranch, Adam asked Victor what the emergency summons was for. Victor said that he heard Adam paid Audra and Sally a lot of money to get back Newman Media. Victor said it was irrelevant how he found out about Adam making a deal to get Newman Media back. Victor revealed that he had to hear it from "Billy Boy" Abbott! Victor asked if it was true or not.

Adam said that Sally wasn't to blame for anything. Then, Vicki entered and mentioned Victor and Nikki's trip to Italy. Adam said that he was happy for them both. Victor said that he was waiting for an answer. Adam said that he was waiting for gratitude. Victor said they weren't done with this. "Guess not," Adam shot back as he left. Vicki wanted to know what was going on.

Victor revealed that Billy told him Adam paid money to get a company back that should have been theirs for free. Meanwhile, Adam talked to Sally (one-way) on the phone that Billy blabbed to Victor, and if Billy was looking for a fight, then he found one.

You're My Best Friend

Noah visited Nick at the rehab. Nick said that he was taking things one day at a time. Noah said that he and Sienna were leaving Genoa City and returning to Los Angeles. "Cool," Nick responded, even though he appeared upset.

Noah said that the timing couldn't be worse; he felt terrible leaving Sharon at the ranch with Nick in rehab. Noah offered to cancel his trip. Nick told his son not to do that. He respected his decision, but he liked having his son around. "You're kind of cool," Nick quipped.

Nick asked how Sharon took it. Noah said the same as you. He felt bad. Nick told him not to go. Nick and Noah said that they were each other's best friends. They hugged it out. Noah promised to stay in touch and told his dad to stay the course. "I love you, Dad," Noah said. Nick replied: "I love you, too." They hugged again, only this time Nick said, "No. Not yet. Not yet," as Noah started to end the embrace. Then, Noah left after they disembraced. Nick was clearly in pain that his son was leaving Genoa City.
