Here's your recap for The Young and the Restless episode that aired Friday, August 7, 2026.
Society Exchange

Billy met Audra at Society. Audra asked if Sally got off okay. Bill said that she did. leaving town to take care of Coco in Los Angeles. Audra said Sally's decision to leave will show what a great mom she will be. Billy hoped that Coco's procedure was going to go as well and as quickly as possible.
Audra confirmed Billy's observation that he was spinning out a bit, but told him he was okay. Billy noted that Audra was good to Sally, and he was on board with that. They bonded over their mutual love for Sally.
Audra pointed out that Adam blabbed to Victor about Adam and Sally's deal. Billy said that he could have advised Sally. Billy asked what Adam would have done if Sally had said no to his deal. Audra said that she listened to Sally. Billy said that he wasn't happy about the deal or that Sally kept the details private. Audra wanted to know if Billy thought that she advised Sally to lie to him.
In fact, Audra urged Sally to be truthful with Billy. Audra shared that she was skeptical about Adam's offer. Billy said that he would have backed Audra on that. Audra said that Adam didn't want Billy to know about the deal so that he'd have something over the Abbott heir. Billy said that the anger he had for Adam wasn't going away anytime soon. He was mad at him -- not Audra. She urged Billy to go out and touch some grass. "Just live and let live," Audra said. Billy asked how that worked for her. She said she'd get back to him on that.
Audra said that she'd seen Delia's picture. "I realize that kind of pain will never go away," Audra added. Billy said that he had to be prepared for a fight. Audra urged him to let it go for the sake of his relationship with Sally.
Audra pointed out that Billy and Sally were locked in; therefore, he needed to back off from Billy. Audra said that she understood Adam's point of view, as Billy going to Victor didn't help anyone. "I'm sorry," Billy said (kind of flatly). Audra asked how things were at Chancellor Industries. Billy said that he and Cane were getting along. Audra was curious if Holden was joining the team. Billy wondered why Audra was asking.
Billy jokingly asked if Audra was planning another hostile takeover. Audra shot back that Billy's remark was funny -- and rude. Billy said he wouldn't jeopardize his relationship with Sally. Audra said she'd hold him to that.
Mothers and Daughters

At the GCAC, Vicki chatted with a distracted Claire, who listened enough to know that they'd been talking about Victor and Nikki's vacation to Italy. Vicki commented that her daughter was glowing.
Vicki said that someone had Claire swooning. Claire said that she was swoon-less. Vicki asked how Holden was. Claire said that she saw him this morning, and she told him about Victor and Nikki, and Nikki having her eyesight back. Claire added that they spoke about relationships. She felt that she and Holden had taken a step forward. "I like him, okay," Claire said with a laugh. Vicki suggested having Holden over; Claire said she wasn't sure she wanted to "subject" Holden to her siblings, Johnny and Katie, just yet.
Claire said that she was hardly one to judge about pasts after Vicki said that Holden has things in his past. Vicki acknowledged that they owe Claire's mother, Stephanie, a debt of gratitude. Then, Vicki got a call. Nick hadn't checked himself back into rehab. In his car, Nick got a call from "Victoria." He didn't take the call.
When Mariah Met Matt

Mariah recounted Aria's love of mermaids to Mariah. Sharon said that she was glad that Mariah was home. She's happy that Tessa, Mariah, and Aria are working things out as a family. Then, Matt walked into the coffee shop. He told Mariah that he knew her twin, Cassie, from before. "Yeah. Before," Mariah deadpanned. "When you repeatedly came after my family."
Mariah said that she knew everything. Matt Clark claimed to be a different person. Mariah said nobody believed his reformed act. He asked for another chance. Mariah said that Matt's stance was an insult to people who put in the work to actually change (like she did).
Sharon and Mariah pointed out that Matt could leave town. Matt said there was a change of plan. He wanted to show Sharon he had changed; he was sorry he wouldn't be able to show that to Noah and Sienna as they had left town. Matt said he never meant to drive them away.
Sharon told Matt that he didn't have the power to drive Sienna and Noah away. They'd only gone to Los Angeles to check on The Shadow Room. He lamented that he didn't get to say goodbye to his ex-wife. Mariah wondered if they were supposed to feel bad about that. Then, Victoria interrupted the three, wondering where Nick was. Matt claimed not to even know Nick was in rehab. He offered to help, but Sharon said that he'd done enough.
Brotherly Love

At the Newman Ranch, Adam gathered Connor's baseball stuff when the phone rang. It was the rehab calling, wondering where Nick was. Next, Nick showed up at the ranch; he told Adam to take it easy. Adam said that Nick didn't return to rehab, and he wanted to know why Nick wasn't picking up the phone. Nick said he talked to security and let them know he was okay. Nick lied that his ringer went off. He said he told the clinic he was going to go back, but then he went home to see Christian, who's now a teenager.
Adam said the clinic called Victor, and Adam took the call because he was there. Nick said that he didn't use drugs in front of his kid. Adam said that it's important for Nick to go back to treatment. Nick said that he told Christian that he was dealing with a medical issue and he'd be home soon.
Nick said he went to see Christian because it's going to take longer to resolve than he thought. Nick asked Adam to give Christian some guidance in his absence, noting that Connor and Christian were close. Adam informed Nick that Matt had moved off the ranch and that he was working for Phyllis.
Nick was frustrated over Matt being on the loose. Adam tried to get Nick to calm down. He felt bad about encouraging Nick to take pills in Las Vegas; Nick maintained that that wasn't Adam's fault. Adam wanted to know what else he could do to help his brother.
Nick said it killed him that his own child was worried about him. Nick said he'd get to a better place. He hoped people would believe that. Nick said he planned to get back to rehab. The brothers hugged, and Nick left. Once outside the front door, Nick let his guard down.
Alone in his car, Nick called his dealer and ordered his regular supply of drugs and said they'd meet at the same spot for the exchange.
Nick Scores Some Drugs

Sharon and Vicki arrived at the ranch. Adam said that Nick had been at the ranch and filled them in on what Nick had told him, including that he was going to return to rehab. Vicki asked how Nick seemed. Adam said that even the mention of Matt's name riles up Nick.
Adam theorized that Nick felt guilty about leaving Christian. Sharon was surprised that Nick asked Adam to look after Christian while he was away. Sharon asked if that was the first time Nick had asked that. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong with Nick.
Meanwhile, Nick's dealer met him in his car near a strip mall. They exchanged money for drugs.
Three's Company

Matt arrived at Society and saw Billy and Audra. Matt recalled the day that he saw Noah and Audra at Chancellor Park Cafe, and there was a scuffle. Matt apologized if he'd done anything either in Genoa City or in Los Angeles. Billy didn't know who Matt was. Audra said that Matt has a history with the Newmans.
Billy advised Matt to keep walking. Billy asked Audra if she was okay. Audra said that he'd done some awful things, and it was hard to believe that the turnaround was real. Billy said that Matt seemed like a decent guy. Billy said he's either that or good at faking it, which makes him dangerous.
Meanwhile, Vicki called the rehab and learned that Nick had not made it back there. Vicki learned from the rehab that Nick seemed jittery; they're not buying his story. Sharon wished she'd had the chance to speak with him. She said that it wasn't that doesn't believe Adam, but she didn't like the sound of what he was saying regarding being away, and asked Adam to watch Christian. Adam believed what Nick was saying. Sharon pointed out that addicts lie. As Nick's family worried about him, he took some pills while in his car. The pills appeared to take effect.
