Here is your The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, February 27, 2026 featuring Matt's latest mindgame, Billy's dinner proposal to Sally, and Phyllis offering Lauren a job.
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Billy was still hung up on the betrayal from her mother that led to his previous ousting at Chancellor. However, this time, he was determined to keep the company for himself. Sally stopped by the office and remarked that her former flame was back where he belonged.
Billy asked Sally what she was doing there. He was pleased to see her after their breakup. Billy was hopeful that Sally's surprise appearance was a sign that she had a change of heart. Unfortunately for Billy, nothing had changed on the personal front. Sally was still content with her decision to walk away from their relationship.
Sally informed Billy that she brought Audra on board to her company as co-CEO. Billy's face turned sour, and his reaction didn't surprise Sally. Sally didn't care what Billy thought about the hire, and she had Jill's full backing. She believed that Audra would be instrumental in taking the company to new heights.
Sally rubbed further salt in the wound and told Billy that Abbott Communications was no longer the name. Instead, it would be known as Spectra-Charles Media. Billy asked when the name change occurred, and she told him it was when she made the choice.
Billy was a bit hurt that Sally scrubbed his name from the company. However, Sally questioned why she'd keep Abbott as the name when that isn't hers. Billy reminded her that Jill was an Abbott, so that wasn't necessarily true. Billy was stunned, but he understood.
Sally attempted to walk away after that reveal, but Billy stopped her. Billy pleaded with Sally to reconsider ending things. He didn't think their personal relationship needed to end because of their professional fallout. Billy asked Sally to consider going to dinner with him. She didn't think it was a good idea, but he asked her again.
Billy wasn't asking for a commitment. He would settle for one simple dinner. However, Sally didn't think wine and steak were the key to solving all of their problems. Billy was holding out hope that their connection could withstand the dissolution of their professional partnership.
Sally agreed to one final dinner with Billy. She urged him not to get his hopes up because she'd seen and heard it all from him already. There was nothing he might say that would come close to changing her mind.

Phyllis questioned herself about how many times she stormed Newman Tower in the past to seek mercy from Victor. This time, she was the victor. She was in charge. Phyllis received a knock at the door, and it was Lauren, stunned to see her friend behind the desk.
Phyllis hoped that Lauren didn't come to read her the riot act. So far, that's essentially what everyone in town had done. Lauren claimed that there was no reason for her to do that. Still, Phyllis grew tired of the constant character assassinations and wanted to show Lauren the door.
To Phyllis' dismay, Lauren revealed that she wasn't there to condemn her. Instead, she was at the office to praise her. Phyllis waited for Lauren to throw in a dig, but it never came. Lauren was elated at the idea of Phyllis knocking Victor off his throne. Regardless of how she accomplished it, she did what nobody else had done.
Phyllis told Lauren that she was the only one who gave her any support. She was pleased that someone was taking a neutral stance toward her rather than direct outrage. Phyllis confirmed that neither Daniel nor Summer was speaking to her because of her takeover. She told Lauren that part of her motivation for doing it was for her family's future.
Phyllis seemed to want the conversation to end before the other shoe dropped. As Lauren walked out the door, she reminded Phyllis that it was lonely being at the top. Lauren offered to be a friend to Phyllis, in case she had second thoughts about stealing the company from the Newmans.
Lauren didn't think Phyllis would ever intentionally hurt Nick or Summer. Plus, she had become close friends with Sharon, and this had the potential to destroy that. Lauren was convinced that somewhere deep down, Phyllis had a shred of remorse for what she'd done.
Although Sharon wasn't the biggest fan of Victor, she would never be fine with someone hurting Nick. Phyllis wondered why nobody could ever just take her side on anything. She believed that Daniel and Summer would eventually come around once they snapped out of the propaganda that the Newmans threw at them.
Phyllis was sure that Victor truly believed himself to be the wronged party. She agreed with Phyllis that Victor (and Nick) had not always been the kindest to her. Phyllis divulged to Lauren about the horrible things Nick said to her. It was hurtful, and every word stung harder than the last.
Lauren invited Phyllis out to breakfast to celebrate her victory. She offered to be a supportive ear for Phyllis to lean on. Once they arrived at the GCAC, Phyllis was a bit paranoid that everyone was talking about her. Billy joined the women, and he was surprised to see Phyllis and Lauren together.
After Billy warned Lauren about being too open about her friendship with Phyllis, a shocking offer was made. Phyllis needed more allies. She needed someone on her side. Phyllis asked Lauren to come work for her, which nearly put Lauren's jaw on the floor.
Lauren initially declined the job offer. Phyllis asked her to think about it instead of going with no right away. She also implored her not to let Michael or anyone else talk her out of it.

Sally met with Audra at Society, who had a few ideas to run by her fellow CEO. Audra offered a few logo designs, and Sally loved the idea. Audra noticed that something was on Sally's mind. Sally told her that she had just left seeing Billy, and that she had told him about the changes to the company.
Despite Sally's firm stance about moving on professionally without Billy, Audra realized there was more to the story. She informed Audra that she agreed to the dinner, which Audra found blasphemous. Audra was certain that Billy would talk her into doing something that went against her better judgment. Sally believed the dinner to be a final goodbye, a farewell to what they once shared.

Victoria thought it was great to see Sharon back behind the counter of Crimson Lights. Their families had been through the wringer lately, and there was still plenty of drama to come. Victoria wanted to run into Nick, but he was preoccupied with locating Matt Clark.
Sharon explained that they wouldn't be able to track down Matt, even if they tried. The only communication they'd received from the madman was a series of vague, threatening texts to Noah. Victoria asked whether Nick had informed her of her plan to use Nick to persuade Summer to turn against her mother. However, that was the last thing on his mind.
Sharon told Victoria that Nick was still recovering from his injuries from the last time Matt attacked their lives. Victoria pointed out that Nick had many moments where he seemed completely fine. Other times, however, he was quick to fly off the handle. Sharon believed that was due to the meds wearing off, and she was worried that he'd become dependent on them.
Sharon told Victoria that Nick requested his latest refill before the last bottle even ran out. She was eager to get Nick to visit a doctor and figure out what was happening, but now that Matt was back on the loose, that was the last thing on his mind.
Sharon discussed her run-in with Phyllis, and although she didn't condone her actions, she believed Phyllis had regret. Victoria thought this information made it easy to target Phyllis.
Nick stared at the bag of fentanyl, and after finding himself again in immense pain, he decided to just take one. Nick struggled with the idea, but it was the only thing that stopped the pain.
Nick joined Sharon and Victoria, and he apologized for not getting back to her. Nick was focused on Matt Clark being out on the streets, so he wasn't coming to Milan. He encouraged Victoria to scrap the plan as well. Nick begged Victoria to leave his daughter out of the ongoing war against Phyllis.
Nick regretted getting Summer involved at the beginning. He wished he hadn't pitted his daughter against her mother. Nick wanted Summer to make her own decisions about how to handle the situation with Phyllis. Sharon returned and agreed with Nick about how to deal with Summer and Phyllis. Backing off could actually be the best possible method.
Nick didn't want to put any more pressure on Summer. Victoria didn't want their father to escalate the threat of harming Lily and the twins. There was no telling how anyone would react if that happened. Nick received a text from Matt asking whether the offer to pay him five million dollars to disappear was still on the table.
Nick filled in Victoria and Sharon about Matt's demand for five million, but he didn't want to involve the police. Sharon wanted to come up with a plan to lure Matt out of hiding.
