Abby spoke with Tessa at the Chancellor mansion, and she was falling apart because of her son’s continued disappearance. Devon entered the room and thanked Tessa for stopping by. Sharon was on her way as well. Everyone had one goal, and that was to find Mariah before things escalated.

Tessa was at a loss. This was a horrible step that her wife had taken. Regardless of how deep Mariah was in the trenches, she knew right from wrong. Devon and Abby didn’t want to pile too much on Mariah, as finding Dominic was their top priority. Abby thanked Devon for how much he’d been her rock throughout this, and she reminded him that she was there for him as well.

Abby was concerned that Devon didn’t think she could handle being his shoulder to lean on. Devon’s icy demeanor had nothing to do with not trusting Abby. Instead, it was more out of concern for what he’d do if he let out all of his anger.

Devon knew intellectually that Dominic appeared to be fine in the surveillance footage from the motel. However, he could quickly devolve if he realized that things were out of the ordinary. Abby wanted to believe that their son was okay, but Devon felt like there was a chance for Mariah to snap even further.

Abby and Devon went to great lengths to make sure that Dominic was retrieved safely. Aside from blasting Tessa’s music across every platform to get Mariah’s attention, they also explained to law enforcement about her recent stint in the mental health clinic. Things were getting down to the wire, and the longer Dominic remained missing, the more frightened he might become.

Abby recorded a message for Dominic, hoping to reach him and get Mariah to snap back to her senses. She hoped that someone would recognize Dominic in public with Mariah and alert the proper authorities to their whereabouts.

Sharon arrived with Detective Burrow, and Abby confirmed that Burrow was officially on the Genoa City Police Force. Everyone struggled with the idea of involving the police because of how much they cared about Mariah. However, she was potentially a danger to herself or Dominic, so this needed to be handled delicately.

Cane desperately tried to get ahold of Lily to warn her about a potential threat toward her and the kids. He pleaded that it was a genuine threat, and he needed to know that they were okay. Phyllis overheard the end of the conversation, and she asked if it was a legitimate threat from Victor.

As much as Phyllis despised Victor, she was convinced that he’d never harm Lily or the twins. Victor and Neil were far too close for him to ever do anything to jeopardize Lily’s well-being. Cane wasn’t as convinced. He reminded Phyllis that Newman Enterprises was Victor’s most prized possession, and he’d do whatever it took to regain control.

Phyllis asked Cane if he would renege on the plan and return Newman to Victor if he didn’t hear back from Lily. Victor was willing to do whatever he could to get Cane to surrender and give Newman back to its founder. Phyllis suggested that Cane call Victor’s bluff and see how far he was willing to go.

Cane flipped the script on Phyllis and asked what she would do if it were Daniel or Summer in potential danger. She said she would call his bluff. Phyllis begged Cane to wake up and realize that Victor was playing mind games to manipulate him into backing down.

Adam went for a run in Chancellor Park, and Cane was waiting for him outside the café. Cane knew Adam’s daily routine, and he waited so he could confront him about Victor’s plan. Cane asked if Adam knew that Victor kidnapped his family, but Adam feigned ignorance.

Cane was furious, and he blasted Victor as evil for doing this to Lily and the twins. He was willing to place them in grave danger just to get his business back. Adam essentially accused Cane of getting what he asked for. Cane ignored the comment and asked once again what Victor had done to his family.

Cane slammed Adam up against the wall, and he threatened the idea of targeting someone that Victor loved to even the score. Adam cautioned Cane against going in that direction, as it would only incite more of Victor’s wrath.

At the ranch, Nikki filled Victoria in about Victor’s plan and the potential ways it could go off the rails. Nikki defended Adam, saying that he wasn’t fond of the plan, but Victor had already moved forward with it.

Victoria asked how Victor could fake an abduction, and there was no way around it without actually following through with the crime. Nikki remarked that it didn’t matter because Victor would do whatever he wanted, and there was no talking him out of it. Victor walked into the room, interrupting the women, proclaiming, “You’re damn right.”

Victor encouraged Victoria to ignore her mother’s concerns. He claimed that Lily and the twins were safe and that there was nothing to worry about. Nikki worried about how Lily would react to this. There was no chance of her sitting idly by and allowing Victor to hold her hostage.

Victoria urged her father to understand how easily his plan could spiral and lead to dangerous consequences. Victor wouldn’t see reason. In his eyes, Cane Ashby had this coming. Victor asked what they believed he was doing to Lily and her children. The issue was that they had no idea. Victor refused to allow them into the plan. Instead, he ordered them to back off and cease the questioning.

Adam returned to the ranch and filled the family in about Cane’s assault in the park. Adam took Cane’s threat seriously and was certain that he’d use one of their children as a bargaining chip. Victor brushed aside their concern, even when Nikki reminded him how reckless Cane was in France.

Victor’s children and wife all pleaded with him to rethink his plan, but there was no use because he was confident in how things would play out. He was done answering their questions, especially since they wouldn’t like his answers. Nikki requested that Lily should have been looped into the plan all along, and Victor shocked everyone by revealing that she already was.

Nikki asked how she could reach Lily to confirm that she was indeed on board with Victor’s plot. Victor skirted around it and said he wanted to handle it himself.

Mariah awoke in her vehicle, and Dominic was nowhere to be found. She panicked and considered that he’d left to reunite with Devon and Abby. Mariah asked herself what she had done, screaming for Dominic to appear. However, it was nothing more than a dream, and he was still safely tucked away in the backseat of her vehicle.

Mariah vowed to never let Dominic go now that he was in her custody. She spoke to him about how she loved him first, and although Abby and Devon were his parents, she shared a bond with him that could never be replaced.

Phyllis encountered Daniel at the GCAC, and he found her actions toward the Newmans to be pathetic. Phyllis disagreed because she didn’t do anything that Victor wasn’t planning to do to Jack and Jabot. Daniel felt that it made her the same, but Phyllis was tired of Victor remaining in control of anyone.

Phyllis believed that she was being held to a different standard. Daniel didn’t think it was a victory. There was no way that Victor was going to do nothing and let Phyllis and Cane win and steal his life’s work. This was a short-term victory at best for Phyllis, and Daniel seemed worried that his mother didn’t understand the reality of the mess she was entangled in.

Daniel was worried that Victor would destroy his mother in the process of regaining his empire. Phyllis told Daniel about what Victor allegedly did to Lily and the kids, and he asked her what she did.

Daniel dragged both Phyllis and Cane for enabling this behavior. If anything happened to Lily or her kids, it would be on them. Daniel essentially cut Phyllis out of his life, wishing he had done so much sooner.
