This week on The Young and the Restless, Victor received a disturbing text message and abruptly ended his negotiations with Jack to trade Matt for the AI program. Victor later shared with his family that the software had turned on its host and was dismantling Newman Enterprises from the inside. Meanwhile, Cane informed Phyllis that he’d put their plan into motion, and they celebrated their impending takeover of Newman by having sex. Victor confronted Cane and Phyllis, who refused to be bought and crowed that they’d won. Nikki blamed Victor for not giving up his vendetta against Jack. Determined to help his family, Nick checked himself out of the hospital against medical advice. Nick coped with his pain by popping pills. Nick warned Phyllis that Summer would hate her for betraying the Newmans, but Phyllis refused to back down. Nick vowed to grind Cane and Phyllis into dust. Cane offered Phyllis an out if she was worried about alienating her children, but she resolved to see things through to the end. Nick encouraged Summer to return home. Diane was thrilled when Michael confirmed her suspicions that Newman was under attack, but Jack was hesitant to put Jabot back online until he was sure they were safe. Nick convinced Jack to hand over Matt by promising that he’d make sure Jabot was safe from Victor. Nick sneaked into Sharon’s cottage and swiped some rope and other supplies. Noah caught Nick hovering over an unconscious Matt, who was bound and gagged in the trunk of a car. Noah wanted to turn Matt over to the police, but Nick was determined to handle things himself. Sally overheard Billy saying that he wished he’d been the one to take Victor down. Sally accused Billy of lying to her, but he swore he had moved past his quest for revenge. Sally confided in Audra about her lack of trust in Billy. Cane offered Chancellor to Billy as a gesture of peace. Sally caught the men shaking hands and angrily assumed Billy had already made up his mind to abandon their plans to run Abbott Communications together. Tessa informed Sharon that she was filing for a divorce from Mariah.
