Chelsea met Adam at Chancellor Park Cafe. They chatted about Connor's summer baseball schedule. Adam said that he wanted to go to his son's games, but Chelsea pointed out that he was busy with his family, worrying about Nikki and Nick. Adam said he can handle doing both. Chelsea changed the subject by presenting ideas on how to bring Newman Enterprises back up to speed. Adam said that Victor was planning on getting all his Newman Enterprises assets back.

Adam said sure, Victor listened, but it was politely. He wasn't interested in rebuilding Newman Media. Chelsea said that Billy and Sally would be hurt by Victor going after Spectra-Charles. Adam said Victor did the whole "get on board or get out of the way" thing.

Chelsea pointed out that she and Adam had what they needed to move forward. They didn't need Victor. Adam said his father is not changing his mind, at least not now. Adam said that it would be a hell of a lot easier to get what they wanted if he helped them. Adam suggested that they wait till the rawness of what Victor went through lessens. Chelsea said that Adam is wrong to think that Victor will calm down. She believed that he wanted to hurt Billy.

Adam said that he didn't care about Billy as he's his own worst enemy. Chelsea said that reminded her of someone else like that -- him! Adam said that Sally deserves to be happy. Chelsea said that Billy did, too. She didn't want to see Victor take a wrecking ball to his life. Adam wondered where they went from there? Chelsea said that they should stop Victor!

Chelsea asked Adam if he had any ideas on how to approach Victor. Adam said they'd go in as a team. They needed a business plan. Sally, her baby bump evident, overheard Adam talk about taking Newman Media back. Sally challenged Adam and Chelsea to try to get Newman Media back. Adam recounted that Sally and Billy only got Newman Media because Phyllis had stolen it.

Sally said that she appreciated Adam and Chelsea being on her side. She added that Adam always backs down when his father demands it. Chelsea told Sally that Adam had changed. Sally acknowledged that he had thanks to Adam, himself, and also to Chelsea. Sally said that she believed Adam when he said that Victor had to be stopped, but she wasn't comforted by Adam's intention. Sally left and texted Audra, telling her that they needed to talk.

At breakfast, Nikki was frustrated that she couldn't see. Vicki told her mom she had permission to throw her plate if she wanted. Nikki quipped don't tempt me! Victoria suggested a walk outside. Nikki agreed, but balked at Vicki's suggestion that Victor come along. Victoria said that Nikki could tell Victor that he makes her feel safe.

Nikki said that Victor could be the most wonderful man in the world -- when he chooses to be. Victor, unseen by Nikki, walked up behind her and heard what she had said.

Nikki was surprised when Victor made his presence known. He reminded his wife that she could move back into their bedroom, and he'd take the guest room. Victor passed on taking a walk with his wife and daughter. Nikki hoped that she wouldn't need this attention much longer. She said the bandages were coming off later today. Victor said that he'd like to be there when it happened.

At the Abbott mansion, Diane told Kyle they needed to find out what had happened to Patty. She vowed not to rest until Patty Williams was out of their lives forever! Diane couldn't believe Patty ever lived there. Kyle said it was more a case of Jack letting her stay there until he could find out where Diane was. Kyle quipped that he could get some sage to remove Patty's presence.

Michael entered in a good mood. He said that Christine laid out a case that put Patty away. He said Patty addressed the judge directly. Chris let her talk and talk, which gave her enough rope to hang herself. Michael added that it became a circus and that Patty was denied bail. Diane was still cautious. Michael thought this was the last time Patty would get away with anything.

Diane thanked Kyle for saving her life. Kyle quipped that he saved Laurence Markham's life, as he would be no match for Diane. A determined Kyle left.

Michael wondered how Diane was doing. He was skeptical that she'd be fine after her ordeal. Michael said she didn't have to lie. Diane confessed that she was exhausted, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Diane wondered if Chris was dropping all charges. Michael said, of course. Diane hoped that Patty would remain locked up for days. Michael said he'd be like a monkey on a cupcake if Patty even looked at the exit sign. Diane thanked Michael for being such a good friend.

Legal Advice

Diane recounted having to play along with Markham to stay alive. Michael said that Diane did what she had to do -- and it worked! Diane said that she was forced to talk about what happened between Jack and Patty on the yacht. Diane shared that she had to confront thoughts she had about her marriage. Diane said that she knew Patty had drugged him, but she couldn't get past what she'd seen.

Michael asked Diane if she still had doubts about Jack. Patty said no. She realized she loved Jack much more than she hated what he'd done. "There's still pain, but I think we'll be able to work through it," Diane told Michael.

Diane feared what Patty's next move might be. Diane wondered what was up with Markham? Michael said the police can't find him. Diane feared Markham could still come after her. Michael suspected Markham went into hiding or is consulting with a lawyer on turning himself in to the authorities.

Diane told Michael he didn't know what Markham was like. She added that Traci saw it too; he has a creepy smile and dead eyes. Michael said that Markham would have to go through him and everyone else who loved her before he got to her.

Diane told Michael that she had a confession to make. She realized that she would have had to have done something drastic to escape Markham's home. Diane said that had she crossed that line, she knew Michael would have been there for her. Michael said he would be there for her. Always.

Confronting Victor

Kyle arrived at the ranch to confront Victor. Kyle said that Jack was recovering -- no thanks to Victor. Kyle blamed Victor for bringing Patty back into Jack's life. Victor feigned shock at the realization that he, Victor, was responsible for Jack and Patty winding up in bed together on the yacht. Kyle didn't back down. Kyle said that his parents have a wonderful commitment.

Kyle asked where Nikki was. Victor said that Kyle was overstepping. He advised Kyle to leave. Kyle said that payback goes both ways. Kyle said that time was on his side, and one day he'll get the opportunity to do to Victor what he had done to so many others. Kyle wondered what happened to the man he once admired?

Victor said that he once knew a young man (Kyle) who had promise until he followed in the footsteps of his incompetent father (Jack). "Get a hold of yourself, son," Victor told Kyle. He urged him to go home and be the ineffectual son his family wanted him to be.

Kyle said that Victor could not intimidate him. Kyle said that he would come back and that an Abbott would take him down. "Shiver me timbers," Victor quipped at Kyle's bravado. "I can hardly wait. Now, show yourself out!"

Esther's Faux Pas

At Crimson Lights, Esther let Nikki know that she was praying for her. Esther said that Mrs. Chancellor was looking down at her from above. Esther felt that she had chosen the wrong words by saying "looking down," given that Nikki can't see. Esther changed her words to say that Katherine was "all-seeing." She excused herself after getting Nikki and Vicki some tea "on the house." Nikki said that she wasn't upset by Esther's words, but she is frustrated and angry at herself because she took so much for granted.

Nikki fretted that she might never get her sight back. Vicki said it would happen soon. "Don't give up," Victoria told her mom. Nikki wondered if she was feeling sorry for herself. Vicki said that her mom was entitled to feeling morose given what she'd been through over the last year. Nikki said Vicki had the authority to smack her out of it if she appeared down. Vicki said you know I will!

Then, Kyle appeared. Nikki explained that she had eye surgery. Kyle said that Jack was in the hospital after Patty had attacked both Jack and Diane. Kyle said it was all due to Victor.

Kyle pointed out to Vicki that Victor brought Patty to town, so this was all his fault. Meanwhile, Victor was on the phone, speaking to someone, asking for an update on Jack's health and Patty's legal status. "Bring it on," he said.
