The Young and the Restless Recap July 15: A Betrayed Victor Cuts Nikki Out of His Life

Victor Won't Back Down

Victor had a flashback to showing Nikki their third home together, a close replication of their original ranch house. Then, he got a call from an employee who told him Patty was still being held, Jack was off the critical list and was expected to make a full recovery, and that Victor's family was on their way in to see Jack.

Adam and Chelsea braced themselves before going to talk to Victor. Meanwhile, Victor learned from his source that Nikki and Vicki were seeing Jack. Adam walked in and asked his dad what was wrong. "Another betrayal," Victor asked. He told Chelsea and Adam they could tell him what was going on.

At the Newman Ranch, Adam probed as to what Victor meant when he used the word "betrayal." Victor deflected. Chelsea blurted out that she and Adam were there to urge Victor not to go after Sally Spectra and her company. Victor wondered why he shouldn't have back what was his?

Victor wanted to know why it was so important to Chelsea. Adam said they should keep pushing forward to a new challenge, a new triumph. Victor told Adam that he should care that their company was stolen, and that it makes no difference that Sally didn't know about the theft.

Victor chuckled upon finding out that Billy was working with Cane. He said he wouldn't have to go after Cane because Billy would bring him down.

Victor said that he gave Chancellor Industries back to Lily because of her late father, Neil. Victor told Adam and Chelsea he had one offer for them, and they could take it or leave it.

Victor said that if Adam and Chelsea want to create a new Newman Media, then that would be fine. He won't interfere in their plans, but Adam and Chelsea should not interfere in his. Victor surmised that Adam felt guilt over his cheating on Sally with Chelsea.

Blind Faith

Victoria and Nikki showed up to see Jack in the hospital. He was surprised to see that she had bandages on her eyes. "Are you trying to one-up me?" Jack quipped. He added there were easier ways to make that happen. Jack wondered if Nikki should even be there. Nikki said she wanted to find out how her best friend was. Jack quipped that a homicidal maniac didn't like his attitude, adding Patty had been arrested and she had two more attempted murders on her rap sheet.

Jack asked what had happened to Nikki. Vicki excused herself to get some coffee. Jack quipped that he wanted a doctor's white lab coat so he could sneak out. After Vicki left, Jack asked Nikki to tell him what was going on. Nikki confessed to feeling very afraid.

Nikki explained to Jack what led up to her illness and the mass pressing against her optic nerve. She said that she had surgery. Jack and Nikki bantered in between revealing the seriousness of their respective injuries. Nikki said Victor sent the Newman jet for the best doctor to perform Nikki's surgery. She shared that he has been nothing but pleasant. However, she wonders how long that will last.

Nikki explained that Victor invited her home to recuperate. Jack said that Nikki's vision will come back. Jack said that Victor's resentments have caused Nikki a lot of problems. Nikki said that Victor set this all in motion by bringing Patty back to town. Jack said that Nikki needed Victor right now. Nikki started to get upset over Victor. Jack interjected that he and Diane were fine. "Victor did not win," Jack said. Nikki countered: "But does he know what he lost?"

Jack said that forgiveness can be powerful. "It can change a story's ending," Jack pointed out. Nikki wondered why read the book if the next chapter is just like the last one? Jack said that Nikki deserved all the love and support that she could get.

Chelsea and Adam ran into Nikki and Vicki on their way out. Nikki and Adam referred to his temporary blindness. Vicki tried to keep things light and breezy. Nikki said that she had news to share about her eyesight.

Chemistry Test

Kyle ran into Vicki in a hospital waiting room. Vicki thanked Kyle for his concern about Nikki. Kyle and Vicki bonded over their parents. Kyle said that Jack was grateful for Nikki's visit, but Victor wasn't. Vici shared that she hasn't been exactly subtle in trying to get her mother and father to reconcile. She added that Nikki's vision loss was temporary. Kyle theorized that Nikki was probably explaining her vision loss to Jack right now. He said that Nikki was as tough as they come.

Vicki said that Victor tried to control Nikki by pushing her away. Kyle asked if Vicki could admit that her father was wrong for what he had done to Jack? Vicki said, of course, he wished she could control her father, but she can't, so this conversation was pointless. Kyle went on about Patty's reign of terror and that no one holds Victor accountable. He asked how the Newmans shrugged it off.

Kyle and Victoria entered Jack's room. Vicki told her mom that she was ready to take her home. Jack said just wait till I get out! He told Nikki that he'd always be there for her.

Pillow Talk

Diane showed up at Jack's room. Nikki explained to Diane that she had eye surgery and that the worst was over. Before Nikki left, she told Diane that she and Jack were lucky to have each other. Diane agreed. She told Jack that he was looking better. Jack said they have so much time to make up for, including quiet time with just the two of them. Kyle asked if this was his cue to leave. Diane said that she wanted to watch both of them at the same time.

Diane asked about Jack's pain level, sutures, and appetite, adding that it was her right to hover. Kyle commented that they sounded like their old selves. Jack thanked Kyle for bringing Diane home safely before he left. Jack invited Diane onto the bed with him.

Jack faked being in pain when Diane cuddled with him. She quipped that she couldn't even playfully hit him. Diane wondered to Jack how Kyle truly was going. Just then, Kyle showed up at the local jail to visit Patty. She quipped that he was not the Abbott that she was expecting.

At Crimson Lights, Adam and Chelsea lamented that Victor could be so stubborn. She mentioned that she was raised by Anita, and there were no discussions. Chelsea mentioned that Connor loves living at the ranch, so it'd be hard to leave. Chelsea said, mother to mother, she wanted Sally to have a break.

Nikki said that her bandages were coming off tomorrow and wondered if Victor still wanted to go with her. Victor revealed that he knew that Nikki had gone to see Jack Abbott, and he walked out of the room before Nikki could reason with him.

Diane feared for Kyle, given how calm he was when he showed up to see Markham. Meanwhile, Patty pointed out to Kyle that she was his fairy godmother as she got Jack and Patty back together. Kyle demanded proof that Victor was behind all this. He asked for the ammo to take him down.
