The Young and the Restless Recap July 24: Billy Vows to Discover a Secret Within Chancellor Industires 

Here's your The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, July 24, 2029, which revealed Billy vowing to learn the secret that Jill revealed to him, Ashley wanting to help Devon and Abby, and Sally debating how to tell Billy about the deal with Adam and Newman Media.

High Society

Abby met her mother, Ashley, at Society. Ash said she loved watching her daughter in action in her job as the eatery's owner. On a more serious note, Ashley lamented that Patty Williams and her audacity knew no boundaries.

Ashley said that while she was trying to regain her mental health. She added that it seemed like Patty and Martin preferred not to get well. Ash recalled going to a cafe in Paris with "Alan," only it was truly Martin.

Abby told Ash that she and Devon were at odds over Mariah's sentencing. Abby revealed that Devon has mood swings unrelated to Mariah. She noted that he puts a smile on his face for Dominic. Abby wasn't sure how she could help unless she spoke to Devon.

Abby advised her mom against talking to her husband; she didn't want it to come off like she went running to her mommy with family issues. Ash said that well, Abby would be going to a family member. Ashley said that she wanted to help Devon for his sake and her daughters. Ash asked Abby if she was afraid that she would lambast Devon. Abby chuckled. Ash said that she knew what it was like to push people away. Fortunately, Jack and Traci supported her.

Cheerio to Billy's Trip to London

Sally was talking to Audra about work, noting she had time to deal with things while Billy was away with Jill in London. She was surprised that Billy was back home already. He told Sally that she and Jill had fought the whole time during their trip about how Jill preferred Cane to him.

Sally tried to reason with Billy. He recounted his side of the conflict he had with Jill. Billy added that Jill blurted out that Cane should be the only one to deal with the complexities inside of Chancellor. Billy believed that there was a secret inside Chancellor and that Jill was terrified that Billy would learn what it was.

Billy was convinced that there was a secret in Chancellor Industries that only Billy could find. He said he knew that he sounded a little crazy, but he needed to find out what was there at Chancellor Industries.

Sally accused Billy of fixating on Chancellor Industries. Billy noted that Kay and Jill's relationship was intense and filled with secrets, including ones that involved jewelry and a music box. Billy said his mom had secrets; he learned one about her regarding the way in which he was conceived.

Billy asked Sally how she was feeling. She said that she didn't feel as sick as often, but she wanted a milkshake. Sally said that she needed to watch her sugar intake. They kissed. Billy called Sally a unincorn, one whom he did not deserve.

Billy asked how Spectra-Charles was going. Based on Sally's reaction, Billy sensed that something had happened. Sally quipped that perhaps the baby had kicked. She said that she and Audra were a great team, noting that they would pick their battles. Billy said that he was jealous that she was her partner; Sally hastened to say that Billy was her partner in everything else. Billy talked to the baby again. Sally said that she was on the phone with Audra earlier.

Billy asked if they were talking about something big. Sally hedged, saying that eventually there would be news. She said she would share with him later. Sally asked if Billy wanted to meet at Society later. Billy said that he was going to check in with Cane, as he deserved to know about the secret at Chancellor Industries.

Cane, Devon, and Coffee

Cane flagged down Devon at Chancellor Park Cafe. Devon was miffed that Cane was bringing on both Billy and Holden, whom he referred to as two "half-assed losers."

Cane asked if Devon wanted to argue with him in public. Devon said that he didn't care. Cane asked Devon if he wanted Chancellor Industries. He said that Cane ruined everything he touched, and he'd ruin Chancellor, too. Cane referred to Devon's attack on him as a rampage. Cane reminded Devon that Katherine had given him control of Chancellor Industries after she died. Devon said that he could see Cane as clear as day. Devon said that Cane, Billy, and Holden were going to bury Chancellor Industries.

Cane noted that Billy hadn't accepted the job yet, and Holden was Lily's brother. Devon said that it was a dumb idea to give Holden any power. Cane said that he was giving him a job -- not control of the company. Cane said that Kay loved him; Devon agreed that Cane was good at fooling people, adding that everything he touched got ruined. Cane said that Lily means everything to him. He urged Devon to figure out what was wrong before he pushed everyone away.

Cane said that he didn't care about Devon. He said he knew that. Devon told Cane never to bring up his role as a husband or father. Cane asked if that was because Cane was the worst at being both. Devon said yes. Cane asked if it was hard carrying around all that rage? Devon asked to fold Chancellor into Winters, and then Cane could go away. Cane asked if 2.5 billion wasn't enough for Devon. Then, Devon left, declaring that they were done.

Family Affair

Devon joined Abby and Ashley at Society. Ashley raved about Dominic. Abby left them alone while she dealt with a fish delivery. "That didn't seem pre-planned at all," Devon quipped about his wife leaving the table.

Ash apologized for not being there while Devon and Abby went through Dominic's kidnapping ordeal. Ash acknowledged that Mariah's broken trust took a toll on Devon. He said it was a nightmare when Dominic was gone, but that he was back now and was doing great. Ashley said that was because Dom's parents were there for him. She said that adults need support just like children do. Ashley offered her support.

Devon, as Abby predicted, wanted to know what Abby had told her mother. Ashley said that she has regret that wasn't there for Abby, Devon, and Dominic. She wanted to be present for the people who are important to her. Ash added that she wasn't judging Devon.

Devon promised Ashley that he was there for his family. Ash advised her son-in-law to lean on his wife. She added that she was an expert at pretending that she was fine when she wasn't.

Devon said that he'd always look out for Abby. Ashley asked Devon to open up to her. Abby watched the two from afar.

Don't Walk Away, Rene

Audra told Sally that she would love Rene (a man), who is reviewing Audra's pitch and has an agency that deals with content creators. Audra said that she focused on their Spectra-Charles assets, not what Newman Media would have brought.

Sally said that Billy wasn't in London. Audra realized that's why Sally hung up on her. Sally acknowledged that not telling Billy about selling Newman Media assets was a bad idea.

Sally said that Billy was upset that she'd told Audra before him that she was pregnant. She's afraid to tell him about the Newman Media deal. Sally recounted Billy's upset that Jill won't trust him. Audra didn't like hearing Sally blame herself for Billy's behaviour. Sally said that she'd tell Billy at lunch about giving back Newman Media.

Billy and Cane Connect

Billy joined Cane at Chancellor Park Cafe. Cane recounted Devon's concerns and angry remarks. Cane wanted to know why Billy was back from London so early. Billy said that Jill wanted him kept from Chancellor Industries, as there's a secret there that she does not want Billy to know. Billy asked Cane to give him a contract that he could sign so that he could get to work.

Cane wondered if Jill's secret was a person, place, or thing. He couldn't offer Billy a contract when he was talking in riddles. Billy wanted to know if Cane knew what the secret was.

Cane couldn't believe Billy was accusing him of knowing what the secret was. Billy said that Jill was hiding something, and it was big.
