The Young and the Restless Recap, July 29: Cane and Lily Make Love

Here's your recap for The Young and the Restless episode that aired on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, as Nikki's vision returned, Cane and Lily made love, Sally and Billy cleared the air, and Phyllis got inside Adam's head.

Adam Cares About Sally

Adam was talking to Chelsea on the phone at the GCAC. He ordered another drink at the bar. Adam assured Chelsea everything would be fine, and he hung up. Then, Billy approached him, asking him who the hell he thought he was!

Adam asked Billy what he could do for him. Billy wanted to know why Sally gave Newman Media back to him. Adam scolded Billy because he put Sally in this position after he aligned himself with Phyllis and Cane.

Adam said that if he hadn't stepped in to help Sally, then she and Audra would have been destroyed. Adam suggested that Billy look in the mirror if he wanted to look at someone who was causing Sally any pain. He informed Billy that there was nothing he could do. Billy exited.

Enter Phyllis

"That looked ugly," Phyllis said to Adam as she sat at the bar. Phyllis wondered what Adam and Billy fought about. She wondered why Adam wasn't happy, as the family had Newman Enterprises back. Adam informed Phyllis that no one cared about what she had to say. Phyllis announced that she was Adam's equal and he'd have to get used to it.

Phyllis asked Adam if Victor gave him the shaft. She wondered if Adam had gotten anything. "Poor Adam is left out in the cold again," Phyllis noted with fake sympathy. Phyllis said that she had her own company and her freedom. Phyllis gave herself credit for taking Newman from Victor, and that the mustache respected her. She asked Adam what he had. Adam pointed out that Phyllis made a misstep by aligning herself with Matt Clark. Adam quipped that Matt may want to leave town -- to get away from her!

Adam signed his bill. He told Phyllis not to come after them, or they would crush her. She feigned being afraid. Adam exited. Phyllis called Matt and asked him what he was doing. She wanted to know what he'd decided about saying in town. "I could use a friend," Phyllis said.

Memory Lane

Cane arrived at Lily's with a bottle of wine. He said he'd been back in Genoa City for about a year, but this was the first time that Lily had invited him over to her place. Lily said that Amy moved out now that her cancer was in remission. Cane asked why he was there. Lily said that she invited him because she wanted to.

Cane asked Lily if she wanted to be alone with him. She told him where the door was, playfully. Lily poked fun at Cane for making her feel like "Donna Reed" (ex-Miss Ellie, Dallas).

Lily served Cane some enchiladas. He thought the meal was delicious. Lily suggested that they take a selfie and send it to their kids. Cane complied. He wrote "don't be mad" in the text. "SO RUDE...JK" read the text that Cane received in return.

Lily and Cane sat on the sofa. Cane said it was fun joking with the kids. He wondered what Lily would think if he reached out to them more often. Lily said that it was a good idea. "Do you ever wish that you'd never met me?" Cane asked Lily. She said no. Lily said there were more good things than the kids. Lily asked Cane what was wrong. Cane wondered if he deserved to have Lily back after everything he'd put her through. "Do I deserve you?" he asked.

Lily recounted all of Cane's missteps, including the charade in Nice last summer with Aristotle Dumas. Lily said she saw hope in Cane's eyes, his charm, and determination. It was hard not to be swept up. Cane said that he couldn't erase his mistakes, but he'd try hard never to be the guy with whom she fell out of love. Lily said now, she and Cane can laugh. Her feelings about him are shifting. Cane asked what that meant for the two of them, adding he loved her more every day. "Do you think that you could ever want me again?" Cane asked his ex. He wanted to know if she could ever love him again. Lily answered by kissing him.

Lily asked Cane what he said to her on New Year's Eve. He recalled he said, "Please. Let me love you." Cane and Lily started taking their clothes off and had sex on her sofa during a sexy montage.

Later, Cane and Lily snuggled on the sofa with a throw over them. He said that he was glad that she'd invited him for dinner.

Billy arrived home. He asked Sally what she was reading. She said instructions on a baby item. Sally wished that she hadn't gone to Adam and accosted him over her giving Newman Media back to Adam. Billy said that Sally got nothing out of the deal. Sally informed Billy that Adam paid her for Newman Media.

Sally said that part of the deal with Adam was a non-disclosure agreement. Sally said that if Victor knew the truth, he'd go after her. Billy made it about him and said that he had been lied to. Sally said that she had to move on this deal while Billy was working things out with Jill.

Sally said that she was committed to the whole "no secrets" thing between them, but she stands by her reason for not telling Billy about Newman Media. She accused Billy of thinking everyone was against him.

Billy apologized for fighting with the Newmans. Sally and Billy made concessions. "Are we okay?" Sally asked. He said yes. She asked if they should take a stab at putting together the glider chair. He said yes, and they kissed.

I Can See What's Mine Now

Nikki shared with Victor that her vision was coming back. Nikki called out Vicki's name when she walked in. She told Victoria that she could see her. They embraced. Nikki said that it happened a few moments ago after her father woke her up from a dream. She said that it's still blurry, but her vision was coming back. Vicki exercised caution. Victor agreed.

Nikki said she didn't realize just how much she's missed. Nikki said that the lights weren't too bright. She started naming all the things that she could see. Vicki suggested calling Nikki's doctor. She left to do just that.

Nikki told Victor that the first thing that she saw when her vision came back was him. That had to mean something, right? Nikki stood by her story that someone had broken into the house. She felt trapped. Then, Vicki came and left. Nikki said she couldn't escape till she heard his voice. Victor wondered if Nikki's worst fear was that she could never see again, and that's why she had the bad dream.

Nikki's Worries Aren't Over

Victor kissed Nikki on the cheek. Victoria returned and gave Nikki her marching orders from her doctor, which include wearing her sunglasses outside. Nikki wanted to know if Victoria and Victor were keeping her from knowing something about Nicholas.

Victor said that Nick checked himself into rehab. Vicki said that he won't be gone that long, maybe a few weeks. "My poor baby," Nikki lamented. Nikki couldn't believe that Victoria and Victor kept the news about Nick from her. She said that she should have sensed what was going on. Nikki said that now, she needed to be there for Nicholas.

Victor said that he'd make the arrangements for Nikki to see Nicholas. Nikki enthusiastically suggested going riding with Johnny and Katie. Victor shot that idea down. Vicki left. Then, Nikki asked Victor where they were to go next.
