Here's your recap for The Young and the Restless episode that aired on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
Sienna Is Confused

Noah told a busy Sienna at The Shadow Room to take a break. He told her she hadn't been the same since Matt was there. Sienna wondered how she could love a man who didn't have an ounce of good in him. She realized that somewhere, there was some good in there. Noah pointed out that Matt was going to kill her more than once. Noah asked Sienna if she thought Matt was a newman. Sienna said she didn't know what to do with the fact that she'd seen new sides to Matt.
Noah said that Matt played the long game, and he was going to sit around waiting for him to make another move. He noted that Nick and Victor have a lot going on right now, but that he, Noah, had only one problem -- Matt.
Sienna was concerned about a plan Noah may have to run Matt out of town. He countered that Sienna thought he was a good guy -- not a threat. Which was it? Sienna said that he's not all good, but that she was afraid if they back him into a corner, he'll do something.
Sienna said that Matt used to push and push until he got an explosive reaction and then take advantage of that. Sienna noted that Matt is trying to avoid conflict. She said she understood where Noah and his family were coming from. Sienna said that she saw him as different, even though Noah didn't want to see that. Noah pointed out that Sienna hit Matt with a rock while he was trying to kill her, and she now believes that he's a good person. Sienna said yes.
Sienna said that it would be easier to go on hating Matt, but seeing him like this, sincere, humble, and sweet. Noah took exception when Sienna described Matt as "sweet." Sienna said it's all brought back good memories, like when "Mitch" made her coffee and massaged her feet every night. She said the man she fell in love with was very real. She said she was confused.
Sienna found it hard to explain what she was feeling. Was her judgment off then -- or now? Noah said that Matt Clark, changed or not, is still a problem. They need to get him out of Genoa City for good.
Hanging at the GCAC

At the Genoa City Athletic Club, Phyllis texted Matt Clark from the bar, asking why he wasn't having a drink with her. She spied Daniel walking out and called him over. She asked him why he couldn't spend time with his mother? He said that there was a reason they hadn't spoken in a while. Phyllis pointed out that Victor had forgiven her. Why couldn't Daniel?
Daniel wondered why Victor would forgive Phyllis. She said that it was because she saved Nick's wife. She helped with CPR and brought him back to life. Daniel was incredulous. Phyllis informed her son that Victor had given her Arabesque, Cane's old company.
Daniel commented that Victor was handing out companies like they were party favors. Daniel walked out on Phyllis as Matt walked in. He told Phyllis that she looked like she could use another drink.
Phyllis and Matt toasted to freedom and friendship. Matt feared Victor as he seemed like the law. Phyllis said that she'd beaten him a few times. Matt thought about ripping off Victor's ankle monitor and running away. Phyllis asked what was stopping him.
Matt said that he was staying and that there was no other place he'd rather be. Phyllis asked even though she had knocked him out, tied him up, and offered him to Victor. "That's our love language," Matt shrugged. Phyllis raised her glass and said, "Cheers to our love language."
Phyllis apologized for doing what she had done, calling it a "one-off." Matt Clark told Phyllis that all was forgiven. They toasted to not being alone.
Phyllis asked what do we do now. Matt said that he'd like to get really practical. She asked if that meant he'd work with her at Arabesque. Matt said that he needed to get rid of Victor's ankle monitor and find a place to live first. Phyllis said that she had ideas.
Memory Lane

Cane and Lily basked in the afterglow of having made love as they sat on her living room sofa. Her phone rang. It was Devon, calling from Society. He said everything was fine. He wanted to talk. She agreed. Lily suggested that Devon not find Cane there. Lily told Cane that he had a one-track mind.
Cane and Lily got dressed, and she walked him to the door. Cane asked what the company policy was on him being crazy about her. They kissed goodnight, and he left.
Scenes From a Marriage

At Society, Abby suggested she and Devon have a proper date, as Ashley had Dominic. Devon asked for a rain-check, so that he could talk to Lily. Abby asked if Devon was still beating himself up over Dom's kidnapping. Devon said he had a lot going on. Abby offered to face things together with him. Devon said he loved Abby and also Ashley for the pep talk. He promised that if he had a problem, he would come to her.
Abby asked to talk to him because she was unhappy. He said he needed time, this had nothing to do with her, and he loved her. Abby said that if she had said that to him then, Devon would have said they could beat this as a team together.
Abby pointed out that Devon couldn't talk to her, but he could to Lily. She conceded Devon and his sister were close, but why couldn't Devon find the same words for his wife?
Devon took Abby's hands and asked her to trust that he'd get over to the other side. Abby said that she was trying to understand it. Devon said he felt like he was failing both Abby and Dom. He said that Dom asked him if he was mad at him. Abby wanted to know what Devon said; he said that he told his son he wasn't mad at him. Abby and Devon hugged.
"You know that I'm here, and I love you," Abby told her husband. Devon thanked his wife for her support. They kissed. "I love you," he said. Devon left. Then, Daniel appeared and saw right away that she was upset. He told her she looked like she could use a friend, and deadpanned if she'd settle for him. Abby chuckled through her tears.
Cutting Ties with Victor

In her hotel suite, Phyllis entered with some large scissors. She asked Matt Clark what he'd do with the monitor. He thought about putting it on a train or throwing it into a lake. Phyllis suggested putting it on a drone; she advised against faking his death. Phyllis couldn't get the monitor off. Matt suggested working together. They were able to get the monitor off. Phyllis told Matt he was as free as a bird. "What a relief," Matt sighed. He thanked Phyllis. Matt put the monitor in a bag and prepared to drive it to the Newman ranch and then return to Phyllis. They kissed, and he left.
Matt and Cane ran into each other in the lobby of the GCAC. Matt swore the only person he was lying to was Victor. Matt admitted it was a mistake to get into business with Victor. He conceded he'd never been on a farm in Kansas (as Adam was), and he didn't know how to milk a cow, but if Cane had asked Matt how to do that stuff, then he would have been exposed.
Matt said he was still impressed with Cane and how much he did as Dumas. Cane asked Matt what was next. Matt said he'd bent over backwards trying to prove to everyone in town that he'd changed. Matt left.
Daniel, Abby, Devon, and Lily

Back at Society, Daniel offered to lend an ear to Abby. She shared that Devon is struggling, but he won't say with what. She said that she couldn't get through to him. Daniel urged Abby to trust Devon's love. She said she knew that intellectually, but it was hard to sit on the sidelines emotionally.
Abby said that Devon is going through something more than their differences over Mariah. Daniel asked Abby if she'd gone to The Shadow Room yet. Abby said she wasn't up for The Shadow Room. Daniel said that Lucy called him "basic," which means boring. Daniel said that a night out is what they both needed.
Meanwhile, Devon asked if Lily had entertained Cane once he walked into her apartment and looked around. Devon said it was pretty obvious Cane and Lily had been there. She revealed that Charlie and Mattie were ready to let him back into their lives. Devon said it sounded like Lily was, too. Devon said that it sounded like Cane was back in Lily's bed. She told him not to go after her like that. He apologized. She asked what was going on.
Devon said that he didn't know what the problem was. He couldn't sleep or eat, and he was lashing out at work. Devon said that he felt lost, who he was, and wondered about the money he inherited.
Strange Bedfellows

Phyllis called Matt and got his voicemail. She asked him where he was and wanted him to walk through the door. Phyllis held up the scissors, fearing that Victor had done something. Then, Matt came back in. He told her it all went exactly as planned. It just took a while. Matt said all he had to do was figure out what was next. Phyllis asked if he was going to take her job offer.
Phyllis and Matt kissed. He unzipped her dress. Phyllis unbuttoned his shirt. Matt took his shirt off. They looked at each other and kissed some more. Phyllis and Matt moved to the bed as the camera faded out.
