At Society, Sally showed Billy an app that she’d downloaded to help them plan their wedding. She reached for her bag to retrieve a list of potential honeymoon destinations, but she ordered him not to touch it. Sally revealed that she’d started designing her wedding dress, and there were fabric swatches in her bag. Billy scoffed at the idea that it was bad luck to see the fabric, but he was certain she’d be the most stunning bride ever.

Billy suggested that he and Sally have the honeymoon before the wedding, and Jack walked in on the couple canoodling. Billy apologized, noting that hearing a happy couple planning their future was the last thing Jack needed. Jack swore that it gave him hope that one day he and Diane could be just as happy.

Jack proclaimed that all the Abbotts were grateful to be welcoming Sally into the family. Jack added that he was rooting for Billy and Sally’s baby to be a girl. Sally predicted that the baby would be spoiled rotten. Jack marveled that the talk about babies and weddings had cheered him up, and he offered to do what he could to help. Billy mentioned that he had something to talk to his brother about.

Sally prepared to leave for a business meeting with Audra. Jack pointed out that Sally was living her dream with her engagement, baby, and business success, and he urged her to embrace it. After Sally left, Billy recognized that it wasn’t easy for Jack to share in their joy when his heart was broken. Jack worried that Patty had something to do with Diane’s sudden absence, and he shared that he’d hired a private investigator to find Diane to make sure she was okay.

Billy requested that Jack stand up for him as his best man. Jack replied that he’d be honored, although he was surprised after their recent share of blowups. Billy pointed out that Jack had always had his back, and he was a better man because of Jack’s tough love. Jack gushed that he couldn’t be prouder of the man Billy had become, and he felt lucky to be Billy’s brother. They hugged.

Sally met Audra at the Chancellor Park Café. Audra began discussing business matters, but quickly sensed that something was wrong. Sally explained that the problem was that everything was going right at the same time, and there was always a tradeoff. Audra surmised that Sally was scared because she thought she didn’t deserve it, so her insecurities were taking over. Sally thought she had to be ready when the other shoe inevitably dropped.

Audra proclaimed that Sally deserved all the good things in her life, and she encouraged her friend to think about where her concerns were stemming from before she spun out. Sally admitted that she had been sleep-deprived, and her mind had been racing with all the possible things that could go wrong. Audra reasoned that life wasn’t about what went right or wrong but the people they chose to experience the good and bad times with. Sally realized that she’d chosen the right people with Audra and Billy.

Audra contended that Sally had more control than she thought. Audra cited Sally designing her own wedding dress, and Sally agreed that she needed to start focusing on the things she loved doing. Sally showed Audra her wedding dress sketches, and Audra raved about Sally’s designs and choice of bouquet. Audra added that it was the bold and daring Sally she loved, and she thought Billy had better know how lucky he was.

The Shadow Room, take two

At the new Newman ranch, Victoria observed that Nick looked ragged after confronting Matt, and she wondered what had happened to his hands. Nick admitted to Victoria, Nikki, and Sharon that he’d intended to rip Matt’s head off, but when he’d looked into Matt’s eyes, he’d only seen a scared man who didn’t remember who he was or what he’d done. Nick promised he hadn’t touched Matt. Noah arrived and announced that he had an idea about how to jolt Matt’s memory.

Noah escorted his parents to the new Shadow Room that he’d secretly had reconstructed in Genoa City. Nick and Sharon were impressed but found it a bit eerie that it looked exactly like the club in L.A. Noah hoped the place would trigger Matt’s memories, so their family could finally get resolution and retribution. Sharon questioned whether retribution was necessary if Matt had reformed. Nick expected that Matt would eventually get his memories back and go after them if they didn’t stop him.

Meanwhile, Victoria informed Victor that Nick had kept his anger in check with Matt, and she hoped Nick would focus on his recovery. Nikki thanked Victor for reaching out to her when Nick had been taken to the hospital, and Victor curtly recognized that she was Nick’s mother. Victoria lectured her parents about setting aside their differences for Nick’s sake, since their rift was tearing the rest of the family apart. Victoria stormed out.

Nikki wondered if Victor had ever considered that their separation might have been a factor in Nick’s drug use. Victor assured her that Nick never would have succumbed to addiction if it hadn’t been for Matt. Nikki thought there had to be a way for her and Victor to get past their issues, and she was willing to do anything to make it happen. Victor ordered her to choose between him and her friendship with Jack, and he walked out. Nikki was struck with another painful headache.

Tripping down memory lane

In Victor’s gym, Matt curled up and began to sob uncontrollably. Matt repeatedly pummeled the punching bag, yelling for someone to tell him who he was.

Later, Nick ordered Matt to get up because they were going on a field trip to jumpstart his memory. Nick warned Matt not to try anything stupid, since Newman’s security team would be with them the whole time.

Sienna was unnerved when she entered Noah’s new club. Noah hoped it would make her less homesick for L.A. (because nothing says “home” like a reminder of the psycho ex who tried to kill you) and also help trigger Matt’s memories. Sienna thought Matt was less of a threat without his memories. Noah thought it was necessary in order for Matt to remember why he was being punished for Nick to get closure.

Nick and Matt arrived, but Matt didn’t recognize the place. Sienna and Noah explained that Matt had run an identical club in L.A. as a cover for his drug dealing. Matt had no recollection of it, but he seemed genuinely remorseful that he’d done it. As Matt looked around, he had memory flashes of confrontations with Nick, Sharon, and Sienna.

Noah suspected Matt was remembering. Matt flashed back to questioning why Noah had repaid his goodwill by sleeping with his wife, and he remembered Victor saying he’d be better off staying dead. Matt turned away as the group scrutinized his reaction.
