Here is your weekly recap of The Young and the Restless for the episodes that aired June 1st through 5th, 2026.
What happened on The Young and the Restless

This week on The Young and the Restless, Sally and Billy planned their wedding, but an innocent comment from Jack about everything in Sally’s life going well sent her spiraling. Audra convinced Sally to live in the moment. Adam sincerely congratulated Sally, paving the way for an honest conversation about how they both still grieved Ava. Chelsea was shocked when Adam suggested that they consider having another child, but she didn’t see another pregnancy in her future.
Jack informed Billy that he’d hired a private investigator to find Diane, worried that Patty might have been behind Diane’s disappearance. Jack agreed to serve as Billy’s best man.
Victor issued an ultimatum for Nikki to choose between saving their marriage and her friendship with Jack. Nikki continued to experience painful headaches, but she resisted Victoria’s attempts to get her to see a doctor, chalking up the bouts to stress.
Matt breaks down as his memories resurface

Nick realized he couldn’t take his anger out on a frightened Matt, and he unleashed his fury on a punching bag instead. Noah showed Nick and Sharon his reconstruction of The Shadow Room in Genoa City, hoping the place would trigger Matt’s memories. Sienna was unnerved when Noah presented her with a replica of the club she’d once run with Matt.
Matt was tormented by not being able to remember who he was. Nick took Matt to The Shadow Room, where Matt broke down upon having memory flashes of the evil things he’d done. Matt swore he didn’t want to hurt anyone and begged for a way to redeem himself.
The Newmans grappled with whether to believe Matt was truly remorseful, but Sienna was convinced that Matt’s breakdown was real. Matt offered to do anything to prove his sincerity to the Newmans.
Phyllis relinquishes Newman Enterprises

Phyllis lashed out at Nick when he threatened to turn her in for harboring Matt unless she returned to Victor, Newman Enterprises. Phyllis agreed to give the company back, but only if she had written assurances that the charges against her would be dropped. Christine refused to drop the charges unless Victor confirmed he’d fabricated the evidence against Phyllis. At Victoria and Nick’s urging, Victor reluctantly admitted the incriminating emails were fake. Christine was furious that the Newmans had lied to her. Victoria appealed to Victor to make amends with Nikki to make their family’s celebration complete.
Phyllis excoriated Christine for being Victor’s puppet. Phyllis lamented to Michael that she’d lost everything. Daniel blasted Phyllis for only giving Newman back because she’d been backed into a corner and not because it had been the right thing to do. A sympathetic Sharon sought Phyllis out to offer friendship and support.
Lily gets Chancellor back

Nate confessed that he recommended Stephanie for a chief of staff position at Genoa City Memorial Hospital. Devon warned Holden not to treat the Winters family like a meal ticket. Malcolm was released from the hospital. Cane was touched when Mattie and Charlie reached out to thank him for saving Malcolm’s life. Victor honored his word and gave Chancellor Industries back to Lily, who asked Cane if he would run it for her.
