On the Friday, June 19 episode of The Young and the Restless, Victoria revealed troubling news about Nikki's condition, leaving Claire worried about what might happen next. Elsewhere, Audra stirred up tension between Noah and Sienna, while Cane grew increasingly suspicious of Matt's story.
Nikki's Condition Worsens

Claire found her mother deeply emotional at the foot of the GCAC stairs, and she asked if everything was alright with Nikki. Clearly, Victoria was even more concerned about her mother than she originally let on. Between Nick's addiction, almost losing Cole, and now Nikki, it's been a lot for Victoria to handle.
Claire wanted to see Nikki for herself, but Victoria didn't think it was a good time. Nikki needed her rest, and it seemed as if they were both blaming everything on her MS and a resurgence of symptoms. However, something felt different this time, as if something else was the culprit behind her latest health spiral.
Nikki was running out of reasons to be happy because her marriage was in the toilet, Jack was busy with Patty ruining his life, and Victor gave Chancellor to Lily. Everything that Nikki held dear was slowly being ripped away from her. Victor twisted the knife in his wife's back at the worst possible moment.
Victoria told Claire that they didn't need to discuss what was going on with Nikki anymore. The normally stoic Victoria Newman was allowing herself to be emotional, which wasn't the norm for her. She quickly composed herself, which only alarmed her daughter even further. This was still somewhat fresh off losing Cole, so Claire needed to know if something was going to happen to her grandmother as well.
Victoria finally caved and told Claire about Nikki's debilitating headaches and how badly they were impacting her quality of life. Nikki was scared about what was going to happen, and although she tried to claim otherwise, the worsening symptoms were making it impossible to ignore. This was an issue that needed immediate attention.
Audra Stirs Up Trouble

Noah was pleased that his new bartending staff was settling in nicely at the new Shadow Room. They were apologetic about missing the first night, but he had Sienna and Danny there to cover everything. However, they were there now and performing exceptionally, so Noah had zero complaints.
Audra showed up, and Noah was pleasantly surprised to see his ex already becoming a regular at his latest establishment. Audra was mesmerized by Noah's abilities as an owner. He was fully immersing himself with the clientele, and he couldn't help but give some of the credit to Sienna.
Audra reminded Noah that he was far too modest. It was nice to share the credit for success with his girlfriend, but she wanted Noah to recognize his own self-worth. Sparks were flying between the two, and their shared history was quickly bubbling back to the surface. It felt like there was some unfinished romantic business, which was not going to go unnoticed by Sienna.
Sienna and Audra took subtle snipes at each other, with Noah somewhat caught in the middle. They could barely look at one another, which became a problem when one of the bartenders called Noah away. Audra immediately took the opportunity to call out Sienna for projecting onto her to distract herself from the fact that Matt was walking around town.
Sienna tried to pretend that the comments about her marriage to Matt didn't bother her, and then it clicked what Audra's attitude was really about. It was Noah. Of course it was Noah. Audra and Noah shared an intense romantic connection years before she ever met him, so naturally Sienna was a bit on the defensive.
Audra agreed to Noah and Sienna that she wouldn't breathe a word about Matt to the general public. Beyond that, she took a swipe at Sienna on the way out, pointing out that she was clearly able to speak with Noah without it being romantic. However, on her way out, she ran into Holden, who automatically assumed the worst and thought she was making trouble for him.
Before Holden would answer Audra about why he cared so much, Claire arrived and wanted to know that for herself as well. Audra confirmed to Claire that she wasn't a threat, similar to what she said to Sienna about Noah. Noah and Holden both tried to convince the women that Audra wasn't going to be an issue, but Claire definitely still wanted answers.
Cane Questions Matt's Story

Matt asked Cane if he had overstepped at all, but Cane remained convinced that Victor was after something. Matt was going out of his way to become Cane's new best friend, and nothing about it made sense. Cane demanded to know what Victor's plan was and how Matt factored into it.
Matt understood that he had come on strong with Cane. He didn't want to cause a problem by invading Cane's privacy, but he swore he was being genuine about his praise for the artist formerly known as Aristotle Dumas.
Phyllis overheard Matt fabricate a story about working on Adam's mother's farm in Kansas. Since she knew who Matt really was, she knew he was working an angle against Cane. Cane didn't seem to fully buy the story Matt was selling, but he humored him in the meantime.
Matt's backstory seemed fully fleshed out, but he was doing a decent job of convincing Cane that he wasn't a threat. He played the Colin card to try to get Cane to drop his defenses, and when it seemed like it was too much for Cane, he offered to walk away.
Cane still wasn't sold on the horse farm cover story that Matt threw at him. However, Matt's overall awkwardness and discomfort somehow made him seem like less of a threat. Phyllis walked into the room after listening in for long enough, and she asked what brought the two of them together.
She tried to interject into the conversation, but Matt talked over her so she couldn't hurt his angle. Matt knows that she knows his true identity, so Phyllis was well-positioned to blow up the entire operation. Everyone was playing a dangerous game of lies and manipulation.
Cane recalled meeting Matt at the club, which led him to ask how he and Phyllis knew each other. The idea that Matt's first two connections in town were him and Phyllis immediately sounded alarm bells. He claimed to be connected to Adam and Victor, and his first stops were them. It sounded suspicious, and Cane wasn't willing to open up until Matt led with a bit more honesty.
