This week on Y&R, Jack tried to hide his disgust as Patty ingratiated herself in every aspect of his life, rearranging his schedule and constantly wanting to spend time together. When Jack became testy, Patty reminded him of their deal and warned that Diane’s well-being was at stake. Jack was disturbed when Patty alluded to becoming his wife.

Patty arranged for Jack to meet Diane’s therapist, but Jack was confused when Dr. Markham showed up instead, claiming that Diane’s doctor had sent him to fill in due to an emergency. Markham provided only vague responses to Jack’s questions, citing Jack’s betrayal as the reason behind Diane’s fragile mental state. Jack quizzed Markham about Patty’s release from a mental facility, and his suspicions grew when Markham claimed Patty was as sane as he was.

Jack planted a kiss on Patty to appease her, but she was quickly disappointed when he sneaked off before they could take things further. Kyle covertly followed Markham to his private home and reported back to Jack that the place was heavily secured. Jack and Kyle theorized that Diane was being held there and that Patty and Markham were working together.

Diane realized her best chance of escape was manipulating Markham into thinking she was eager to begin therapy with him. During a session, Markham pressed Diane to tell him about the night she’d caught ack and Patty together on the yacht. Diane became wary when Markham knew details that she’d never shared, but he claimed that she’d divulged them when he’d found her on the side of the road.

Diane confided her deepest fears about Jack moving on with Patty. Markham claimed that Jack had invited Patty to move into the Abbott mansion. Diane feigned having another breakdown but silently questioned what was really going on, convinced Jack would never pursue Patty unless he was being coerced.

Kyle left Markham an ominous voicemail, claiming to have seen Diane through Markham’s window and threatening to contact the police. Markham immediately called back and made plans to meet with Kyle. A hidden Patty eavesdropped as Kyle plotted to distract the doctor while Jack raced off to try to find Diane.

Nikki’s doctor informed Nikki and Victoria that a mass was pressing on Nikki’s optic nerve, and the condition would lead to blindness. The doctor warned that surgery might also cause blindness. A devastated Nikki refused to let Victoria tell Victor about her condition, not wanting him to see it as a weakness.

Claire tried to lure both her grandparents to brunch, but Nikki declined the invitation. When Victor incorrectly assumed Nikki was avoiding him, Claire blabbed about Nikki having an appointment with her doctor regarding her headaches. Victor confronted Nikki, who continued to fib that her headaches were stress-related. Nikki handed Victor her wedding rings on his way out.

Nikki’s condition rapidly deteriorated, and Victoria rushed her mother to the hospital. They learned that Nikki’s only viable option to save her vision was surgery, but there were no local surgeons with the skills to perform the procedure. Victoria turned to Victor, who immediately used his connections to fly a specialist in from New York. Nikki awakened in a panic and declared that she couldn’t see.
