Here is your The Young and the Restless recap for Thursday, June 4, 2026 featuring a triumphant winner in the battle between Phyllis and the Newman family.
What happened on The Young and the Restless

Victoria got breakfast with Nikki at the GCAC, and she was alarmed that her mother was still suffering from a massive migraine. Nikki didn't think it was anything to be concerned about since headaches came with the reality of living with MS. Victoria refused to take that answer, and she demanded that they phone a doctor right away.
Nikki successfully convinced Victoria to back off and let her handle it on her own. To Nikki's point, their family had gone through constant turmoil over the last several years. From the threat of Jordan and Matt Clark to the theft of Newman and the demise of her marriage, Nikki had been through the wringer.
It was a long shot, but Nikki was hopeful that getting the family company back could be the jumpstart her marriage needed to somehow repair itself. All Nikki wanted was for Victor to come to the realization that they were still very much in love and there was no reason to walk around angry at the world.
Despite Nikki's wishful thinking, she believed that more likely than not, her marriage was over. Victoria believed differently because she thought once Phyllis gave the company back, it would pave the way for Victor to soften his stance toward her mother. Reclaiming their empire could put the king and queen of Genoa City back together at the top of the corporate food chain.
Nick joined his mother and sister at the table, and although he was beaming with pride about having his first session at the treatment facility, Victoria tore into him. She had heard Nick claim in the past that he sought treatment and then he nearly passed away, so it was difficult to believe anything he said.
Nick vowed to his family that he was serious about getting help. He was also willing to welcome Jack as his sponsor, since he knew he couldn't make it through his addiction on his own. Beyond that, he felt like things were finally looking up because Phyllis was inches away from returning the company that she stole.
Baby steps backward

Adam met with Chelsea at Crimson Lights, and they were beaming over the progress that Connor had made. After all of the struggles they faced with his OCD, his latest strides were incredible. Chelsea credited the pair as excellent parents, which led to Adam asking if she'd be open to having another child.
It was difficult to imagine that Chelsea's mind didn't immediately think that he only wanted this because of Sally's baby news. The question came completely out of nowhere, and Chelsea wasn't even sure how to react. Adam droned on about all of the reasons why it was such a great fit, but she asked if it was because of Sally being pregnant.
Chelsea put all of her cards on the table and told Adam that another pregnancy wasn't something that she wanted. She didn't want to crush Adam's dreams, but she couldn't get behind the idea. In that exact moment, she wasn't sold on the idea of going through another pregnancy and adding more to their plate.
The price of freedom

Michael ran into Phyllis at Crimson Lights, and he was surprised that Phyllis had yet to concede the race for control of Newman. The last they spoke, it looked like she was going to hand the company back to Victor, but she had a change of heart. She didn't think that giving in to Victor's demands was in her best interest.
Michael thought there was a chance that Victor would have mercy on her if she did the right thing and handed it back to him. She wasn't as confident in his ability to celebrate her saving Nick's life as a means of securing his mercy. However, her life was now in Victor and Christine's hands, neither of whom would jump at the chance to free her of the charges.
The only way that Phyllis would consider walking away from the company she'd been desperate to hold on to was if she had confirmation that there were no criminal charges facing her. That was the only way she'd give it back to the Newman family. Phyllis wanted genuine assurance that she wouldn't spend any time behind bars.
Michael implored Phyllis to seriously think about listening to his advice and understand the gravity of her situation. Victor wasn't going to make any moves toward freeing her from the charges unless he had the company back. Michael didn't think Nick would allow his father to send her to prison, but after the way he had been treating her lately, she wasn't as sure.
Despite giving Michael a hard time about everything, Phyllis pulled him in for a warm embrace. They were always going to stay friends regardless of whatever challenges they faced. Nobody remained in her corner through the entire situation other than Michael and Lauren, and she owed them everything.
The Newmans reclaim their throne

Later on, Michael arrived at the ranch, but he wasn't alone. He was joined by Phyllis and Christine, and Phyllis had only one thing in mind. She wanted Victor to confess to Christine that all of the evidence against her was fabricated.
Christine was willing to keep the charges against Phyllis unless someone in the room made a compelling reason as to why she should believe them. Phyllis thought that Christine was being extreme by calling the entire meeting extortion, but in the end, she'd need her cooperation to skirt away from the hands of justice.
Michael and Nick did their best to convince Christine to be open to dropping everything. He discussed the bigger picture of Phyllis saving his life and that he wanted to bury the hatchet once and for all. All they needed was Victor to confess that the evidence was fabricated, and his empire would be returned to him.
Victoria walked into the house, and her brother quickly brought her up to speed. Everything was riding on Victor giving a little and admitting some sort of wrongdoing. He had to openly expose that he wasn't the infallible titan of industry that he wanted everyone to believe he was.
Christine was tired of waiting around for someone to come clean, so she started to walk away. Nick finally got through to his father and got him to confess that he faked the evidence to get leverage against Phyllis. Christine was furious, but more so disappointed that she was used in such a manner, and she agreed to drop the charges. She was left with no other choice because there was no way to build her case.
Everything was official, and Newman was finally back in the hands of the founding family. They toasted to the victory, and Victor thanked all of his children for never wavering in their support for him and the company.
Later, Phyllis was sulking at the GCAC, but once she saw Christine walk in, the gloves were off. Michael wanted Phyllis to think before she did something irrational, but it was like talking to a brick wall. Phyllis blasted Christine for allowing herself to believe that the emails were fabricated, and she pointed out that everyone thought she was Victor's puppet now.
