In a car at the marina, Diane complained to Billy and Kyle about having to wait while Jack was out on the water with Patty. Billy answered a call and learned the captain was ready to take them out on a boat to find Jack. They rushed off.

On the yacht, a drugged Jack and Patty kissed passionately on the bed, but he pulled back. Looking dazed, he insisted it had to stop. She kissed his neck and purred that they were on the sexiest, hottest trip. They resumed kissing, and he threw her back on the bed.

Patty pushed Jack up against the wall and tore off his shirt. She stood back to look at him and cooed that it was definitely worth the wait. Jack mused that he couldn’t help himself with her, and she replied that she’d never been able to get enough of him. Between kisses, she implored him to let it all go and live in the moment. They tumbled onto the bed in a passionate embrace.

After having sex, Patty gushed that Jack had been incredible, but he realized it never should have happened. She encouraged him not to have any regrets, but he bewilderedly wondered how things had gone from being normal to ripping one another’s clothes off. Patty proclaimed that they’d seized the moment the universe had given them. Diane suddenly yelled Jack’s name and pounded on the door.

Diane burst into the cabin and demanded to know “what the hell” was going on. Billy and Kyle appeared, and Jack cursed. Patty called it a party with all the Abbott men in one place. Diane ranted that she’d been worried sick, thinking Victor had locked Jack away in a cargo hold. Jack hurriedly got dressed as Diane struggled to process the scene.

Diane spat that both Jack and Patty disgusted her, and she judged from the lipstick on Jack’s shirt that he’d had a good time. Patty crowed that the man had been starved for a real woman, and Diane ordered her to shut up. Jack stammered that he didn’t know how it had happened. Diane dared him to explain how he’d ended up naked in bed with Patty.

Diane commanded Patty to get out, but Patty sweetly pointed out that her clothes had been thrown everywhere. Jack surmised that Patty’s escape had been Victor’s doing, but Patty exclaimed that she was rehabilitated and free. Jack insisted on speaking with Diane. Diane growled that she’d be the one doing the talking, and he’d listen to everything she had to say.

Patty got dressed and rambled that she and Jack had let go of the past and healed old wounds. Billy roughly escorted her out, and Kyle followed. Before Jack could explain, Diane smacked him across the face.

Traci invited Nikki into the Abbott mansion. Nikki hoped Traci had news about Jack. Traci reported that Billy had sent her a text message about going to check on a lead, but she didn’t have any further details. Traci was horrified when Nikki revealed that Victor had arranged for Jack to be abducted as leverage to force the return of Chancellor.

Nikki recounted that the only thing Victor had told her was that Jack was in good hands on a yacht in the middle of Lake Michigan. Nikki confided that Victor had insinuated that a woman was with Jack. Traci figured there was nothing to worry about, since Jack was devoted to Diane. Nikki bemoaned that Victor was determined to get everything stolen from him back at any cost, and losing his life’s work had pushed him to limits she’d never known he had. Nikki didn’t know whether her marriage would survive if there was a seduction scheme involved.

Nikki and Traci agreed to call one another if they heard anything. Traci’s phone rang, and Billy informed her that Jack was safe and unharmed – at least so far. Traci panicked, and Billy told her he’d explain when they got home. Traci relayed the news to Nikki and imagined everyone would be relieved except Victor. Nikki expected Victor to be furious, and she couldn’t be happier.

At the new Newman ranch, Nick and Adam informed Victor that Sienna had discovered that Matt might be hanging out with one of his drug ring contacts in Las Vegas. Adam added that the contact might be someone he knew from his card-sharking days, and he was confident he could get her to open up. Victor was glad his sons were teaming up, but he had concerns because of Adam’s time in Vegas. Adam conceded that he wasn’t thrilled to dive back into his past, but he’d chosen to side with his brother to end the threat.

Adam recognized that he’d returned home from Vegas a broken man, but he was stronger because of Chelsea and his family. Adam declared that he was proud to be a Newman, and he would do or risk anything to protect the family. Nick piped up that he’d also had concerns about Adam getting involved, but his brother had the same stubborn Newman streak they all had.

Victor urged Nick and Adam to let caution prevail, noting that he could feel Nick’s rage from across the room. Nick vowed to do what needed to be done, but he promised to be as careful as he could. Victor invited them to call if they wanted his security team to take over, but Nick pointed out that Matt had ended up back on the streets the last time Victor’s team had handled things. Nick was adamant that he be the one to end it, and he didn’t trust anyone else to get Matt out of their lives for good.

Victoria arrived to let her family know she was heading to Milan to visit Summer and ensure a backup plan was in place. Nick was stunned to learn that he was the last to know “Plan A” was Victor holding Jack hostage to pressure Billy and Phyllis into returning Chancellor. Nick warned that all it would do was escalate things. Victoria reasoned that they had to do something extreme to get back what they’d lost.

Victor voiced his determination to get back their family legacy. Nikki returned home and guessed Victor had been bragging about what he’d done. Victor snapped that it was enough from her, and she retorted that she had no intention of speaking to a kidnapper who’d lied to her face about what he’d done. Victor huffed that she wouldn’t understand because it involved her “precious Jack.”

Nikki announced that the Abbotts had located Jack and were taking him home. Victor didn’t believe her, and he left the room to find out what had happened. Victoria lectured that Nikki had enjoyed the moment a little too much. Nikki barked that the plan blowing up in Victor’s face was exactly what he deserved.

Nick told Nikki about his upcoming trip to Vegas. Nikki didn’t like idea of him facing off with Matt again, but Adam insisted that he’d have Nick’s back. Nick and Adam made plans to meet at the airport, and Adam left. Nick urged Nikki to go easy on Victor, who was under a lot of pressure. Nikki argued that Victor had never gone easy on anyone, and she sauntered off.

Nick objected to Victor doing something that might not be worth the risk. Victoria surmised he was upset because she was going to Milan to see Summer, but she maintained that Phyllis’s kids were the key to getting back their stolen companies. Nick sternly advised Victoria to stop trying to be so much like Victor that she forgot she had some of Nikki in her, too.

Later, Nikki asked Victor if he’d gotten his confirmation. He curtly replied that he didn’t want to talk about it, but she blasted him for the heinous act he’d committed against Jack. Victor defended that he’d done it for his family. Nikki raged that he’d done it for his “own damn ego,” and she didn’t know if she’d be able to forgive him. “You think I give a damn whether you can forgive me? Get out! Now!” Victor bellowed.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon and Chelsea discussed how Nick and Adam had teamed up to go after Matt in Las Vegas. Sharon guessed Chelsea was worried about Adam revisiting his past. Chelsea expressed concern that the trip would stir up bad memories that Adam had tried to make peace with. Sharon believed Adam was in a different place because of Chelsea’s love and the family they’d created with Connor. Chelsea recognized that Adam was strong, but she pondered whether the feelings he’d pushed down were even stronger, and she didn’t want him to become self-destructive again.

Sharon pointed out that Adam wouldn’t be alone if anything disturbing happened. Chelsea fretted that Nick had been going through enough already, but she’d noticed that his leg seemed to be doing better. Sharon indicated that he was no longer taking pain medication, but his leg still sometimes bothered him. Sharon added that she’d hate to see him go back to drugs to get through the day.

Chelsea inquired about Mariah, and Sharon worried that her daughter wasn’t making any progress in therapy. Chelsea mentioned that Connor had told her Mariah had seemed sad when he’d run into her at the pond, and she’d told him Mariah needed her family, including him. Sharon thanked Chelsea for not telling her son to avoid Mariah. Chelsea shared that she’d taught Connor that people weren’t defined by their worst moments, and she thought Adam also needed to remember that while he was doing something good for his brother.

Later, Nick stopped by the coffeehouse to pick up a drink. Sharon admitted that she was torn between wanting him to find Matt and worrying about what would happen if he did. Nick insisted that he and Adam had it covered, and he recommended that Sharon focus on Mariah’s upcoming trial. He promised to be careful, and they hugged.

At home, Adam packed a bag, and Chelsea voiced concern about what was at stake. She encouraged him not to let the memories get under his skin. Adam assured her it wouldn’t happen when he had her and their son to get home to.
