This week on The Young and the Restless, Billy relished telling Adam that he and Sally were getting married – and that she was pregnant. Chelsea sensed that Adam was upset, and he admitted that Billy’s news had stirred up thoughts of Ava. Chelsea assured Adam that he could talk to her about anything. Audra agreed to serve as Sally’s maid of honor.

Patty sets a lofty goal

Patty was taken aback when Jack informed her that he’d thrown the flowers she’d sent in the trash. Patty wondered why Jack wasn’t willing to give her a second chance when he’d forgiven Diane for faking her death. Patty later announced to Victor and Nick that she planned to stay in town permanently, and she vowed to become the next Mrs. Jack Abbott.

Kyle became increasingly concerned when Diane failed to show up for work, and he learned that her bed hadn’t been slept in. Jack accused Patty of doing something to Diane. Patty cited Diane’s history of abandoning Jack and Kyle and speculated that she might be gone for good.

Phyllis left a desperate message for Matt, begging him to hear her out and hinting that she had feelings for him. Matt joined Phyllis in her office, where they nearly kissed, but he pulled back because he was married. Matt had memory flashes of Sienna attacking him.

Victor and Nick burst into Phyllis’ office, and Matt realized Patty might have been right about Phyllis using him. Sharon, Noah, and Sienna confronted Matt about his evil past deeds. Matt insisted that he wanted to make amends, despite having only memories of his accusers doing violent things to him.

A wobbly Nick started to contact Detective Burrow, but he collapsed. Noah panicked when he couldn’t find his father’s pulse. Matt recognized the signs of a drug overdose and jumped into action by performing CPR while instructing Phyllis to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Victor called an ambulance, and the paramedics later confirmed that Matt’s actions had saved Nick’s life.

Victor had his goons escort Matt back to the Newman ranch. The Newmans struggled to reconcile their hatred of Matt with his heroic act. Nick refused to go to rehab until he saw Matt. Matt maintained that he remembered nothing and understood Nick’s desire to kill him. Nick took out his anger on a punching bag before turning to Matt in a rage.

Nikki suffered from worsening headaches, which Victoria chalked up to her mother’s multiple sclerosis. Nikki had a horrific nightmare in which Victor, with Vicki by his side, told her that Nick had died. Nikki and Victoria begrudgingly thanked Phyllis for her role in saving Nick’s life. Phyllis revealed that the deal she’d made had been with Nick and not Victor.

Claire and Holden’s bond deepened as they spent time together in New York. Holden confided that he hadn’t been in a meaningful relationship until then, and he and Claire looked forward to their future.

Devon admitted to Abby that he’d realized he’d been lashing out at Mariah because he’d been angry at himself for not protecting his family. Devon and Nate were wary when Lily seemed to be drawn back to Cane. Cane staged a romantic dinner for Lily, and the two tenderly kissed before saying goodnight.
