Jack came downstairs and overheard Kyle on the phone, and it sounded tense enough that he asked what was going wrong. Kyle was officially worried about Diane's radio silence, as it wasn't like his mother to go missing. Jack wasn't as concerned as Kyle because Diane was deeply emotional at the moment, so she likely needed some time to herself.

Kyle explained that it was far more serious than that. Diane no-showed a meeting that she set up, so despite her personal grievances, she wouldn't blow off her professional obligations. Jack tried to downplay it as much as possible, but it was becoming too difficult to ignore. Jack couldn't shake the feeling that Patty was the key to locating Diane, as horrifying as that may be.

Phyllis tried to call Nick after saving his life, but it went straight to voicemail. They had a lot to catch up on, but first she needed to deal with Patty Williams. She confronted Phyllis about Matt dropping off the grid, and that was the last thing that Phyllis wanted to hear. Phyllis was ready to snap after the horrific night she had prior, so Patty needed to tread lightly.

Even though Patty was using Matt for her own agenda, she acted as if Phyllis was a terrible person for doing the same. They both wanted to use Matt to save themselves, but neither were willing to admit it. However, it did seem as if Phyllis was more willing to give Matt a real chance than Patty was. His life-saving moment for Nick was an eye-opener for her regarding the man Matt had become.

Phyllis and Patty were never going to get on the same page. She was never going to believe that Patty was truly redeemed. She knew that Patty was angling Matt as some sort of leverage to make everyone in Genoa City believe that she had truly changed.

Phyllis wanted Patty to leave Crimson Lights and get out of her face, but Jack and Kyle showed up demanding to know what Patty had done to Diane. The mystery was deepening, and it was no surprise that Patty was at the center of all of the chaos.

Phyllis took off and left the men to deal with Patty and her delusions. Patty didn't care about Diane's disappearance as she was only focused on becoming Jack's next wife. However, her interesting choice of words about Diane being out of the way piqued Jack's interest immediately.

Nick returned home to the ranch after his brush with death. His entire family was there to support him, and he seemed sort of nonchalant about it. Noah was worried that he'd been released too soon, but everyone assured him that it was the right move. Nick needed the love and support of everyone, but Victoria wasn't all smiles. She demanded to know why her brother continued taking the pills.

Victoria ripped into Nick for either lying about his meetings or not taking them as seriously as she should. She wanted a genuine explanation for how things devolved so quickly, and Victor did as well. Nick was willing to get into all of that, but before he did, he wanted to know where Matt was and what they were doing about him.

Victor assured his son that Matt was taken care of, but he wasn't willing to disclose his location. Nikki showed up soon after, and the family reiterated their worry that Nick was released too soon. Adam asked Nick to recount what he remembered from before his overdose, but he didn't know the full scope. All he knew was things went sideways after he saw Matt in the office.

Sharon dropped the bomb on Nick that Phyllis and Matt administered the life-saving CPR, which threw Nick for a loop. How could he believe that his two biggest enemies were responsible for restoring his life? Phyllis was one thing. He could live with that. But Matt? That man had tormented Nick and his family for months, decades if you want to go back in time, so how could he owe him everything?

Adam found it difficult to believe that Matt was selfless with saving Nick. Victor clearly believed Matt's actions were genuine, but it was still too much for Nick to contend with. Sure, Phyllis would save her daughter's father, but why would Matt risk everything to save the same man he was determined to destroy?

Noah, Sharon, and Victor confirmed that Matt's memory loss was legitimate. Adam was on the opposing side, which left everyone wondering how to proceed. How could they handle Matt in the same manner that they'd done in the past? He had no idea what heinous atrocities he committed, so what was the most fitting form of punishment?

There was nothing satisfying for Nick about the idea of punishing Matt Clark. How could they hold him accountable for actions he had lost knowledge of? The family was undoubtedly divided about how to handle Matt. It was a crisis of conscience for everyone, but Nick wasn't going to be satisfied until he saw Matt for himself face-to-face.

Nikki's strange headaches continued, and there was no logical explanation for it. Other than a resurgence of the MS symptoms, nothing else made sense. The doorbell rang, and it was Phyllis there to check on Nick. Despite their differences, Victoria and Nikki thanked Phyllis for her efforts to bring Nick back to life.

She didn't condone any of the things Matt had done to harm their family, but she believed Matt was authentic about his concern for Nick. Nikki did remind Phyllis how much she'd hurt their family, but that didn't matter at the moment. All that Nikki cared about was saving Nick. Victoria, however, wasn't as kind. She reminded Phyllis that she was responsible for making this go on as long as it had.

Nikki got herself comfortable in Victor's chair and asked Phyllis to discuss exactly what the deal entailed from the beginning. Phyllis wasn't going to divulge anything until she got to see Nick for herself. Until then, Nikki would have to wait for a response.

Nick got his wish and was allowed into the room with Matt. For the first time since surviving his overdose, he was looking his mortal enemy and his guardian angel directly in the eyes. Nick was furious, but he was shocked to learn that Matt blamed himself for the addiction. He knew he was a previous drug dealer, and none of it made sense because despite hearing how horrific his actions were, he couldn't reconcile that with how he currently felt.

Matt gave Nick permission to end his life because of what he'd done to hurt him over the years. All he asked was that his soul be allowed to be saved after bringing Nick back to life. Hopefully that one good deed was enough to save him from eternal torture. Instead of ending Matt's life once and for all, Nick stopped himself from delivering the fatal blow.
