Nick was irritated when he realized Adam was keeping tabs on him. Detective Burrow revealed that a car crash had occurred just outside of town and that Matt’s fingerprints had been found inside the empty vehicle. Nick informed Burrow that Matt had intended to leave town with Patty.

Matt decided that he had no obligation to warn the citizens of Genoa City about Patty’s escape, but he considered Sharon to be different because she believed in second chances. Matt lurked around Crimson Lights, watching Sharon. Matt called Sharon but said nothing when she picked up. When Nick informed Sharon about the car crash, she realized Matt might have been her silent caller.

Sharon was horrified when she later found Matt inside her house, and he explained that he’d hidden in her trunk to avoid Newman security. Matt swore that he had turned to her because he was in desperate need of help to overcome the darkness inside him. Nick arrived during their intense conversation and wanted Matt gone, but Sharon insisted that Matt needed psychiatric help.

Matt broke down emotionally and spent the night on Sharon’s couch with Nick keeping vigil. When Matt awakened, he agreed to be admitted to a psychiatric facility – provided Sharon served as his therapist. Over Nick’s vehement objections, Sharon agreed to treat Matt, but only if he promised to continue with another psychiatrist if things didn’t work out because of their tumultuous past.

Victoria panicked when she woke up with Kyle in their secret apartment after accidentally spending the night. Victoria was adamant that no one find out about their affair, and they planned to create a smokescreen by reviving the social media battle between Vibrante and Jabot. Nikki later agreed to declare war on Jabot – and especially Diane.

Victoria and Kyle continued to sneak away from their families to meet at their hideaway. Victor called a half-naked Victoria to scold her for being late to an important video conference. Victoria hurriedly jumped on the call and smoothed things over, but she later scrambled to cover when Victor mentioned that he hadn’t recognized her background during the meeting.

With encouragement from Nate, Lily finally told Cane about her inconclusive test results and the possibility that her cancer had returned. Cane offered his unwavering support and promised they would face it together.

Sally was shocked to hear Phyllis would be hosting her wedding as the new owner of the Athletic Club. Phyllis was thrilled when Daniel agreed to work with her. Phyllis intended to rename her company SFR after co-CEOs Summers, Fenmore, and Romalotti. Danny and Christine voiced concern that Daniel was setting himself up for disaster.

Billy was dismayed when he learned Jill couldn’t attend his wedding due to medical tests. At the rehearsal dinner, Sally videotaped Billy’s answers to awkward questions Coco had received from their grandmother and great aunt. Billy swore that he would never willingly hurt Sally in spite of his past screwups. Sally and Coco were touched when Jack warmly welcomed them both into the family.

Ashley expressed doubts about Billy and Sally’s marriage, but the rest of the Abbotts were certain the couple was truly in love. Sally and Audra became emotional as they reaffirmed their status as best friends as Sally got ready on her wedding day. Billy dropped off a letter for Sally to read before walking down the aisle. Audra contemplated opening it to ensure Sally wouldn’t be hurt by its contents, but Chelsea assured her that Billy was just being a hopeless romantic.

Guests gathered for Billy and Sally’s wedding. Adam and Billy exchanged polite pleasantries. Cane jokingly requested that Victoria dodge the bouquet toss so Lily could catch it. Kyle covertly complimented Victoria as they fought their attraction in public. Sally read Billy’s letter as the wedding began, and the two beamed at one another as she started to walk down the aisle.
