The Young and the Restless Recap, September 14-18, 2026: Patty Evades Capture, Phyllis Gives Up on Matt, and Nick Returns Home

On The Young and the Restless from Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 18, 2026, Jack’s trap for Patty fails, Phyllis confronts Matt, the Newmans welcome Nick back, and romance blooms in Genoa City.

Best Laid Plans Gone Awry

The Abbott family staged an elaborate ruse to lure Patty out of hiding, with Jack seemingly suffering a heart attack at Society, with his panicked family members by his side. Sally enlisted Adam’s help to use Newman Media to make the story of Jack’s collapse public, hoping it would convince Patty that Jack’s medical emergency was real. Meanwhile, Adam worried that Victor would use Patty’s obsession with Jack to his advantage.

A demented Patty confided in her stuffed cat, Mr. Kitty, about having second thoughts about leaving town. Patty plotted to use Matt to do her dirty work. After seeing an online video of Jack’s apparent medical crisis, Patty fantasized about whisking Jack away to a remote location and making him fall in love with her again – even if it meant having to drug and imprison him.

Matt confessed to Phyllis that he’d bailed on their plan after Patty had made him reconsider his ability to be redeemed. Phyllis suggested that they alter their plan to make themselves look like heroes by bringing Patty to justice. A conflicted Matt called Patty and invited her to return to his room. Patty was wary of Matt’s sudden change of heart and ultimately decided not to show up.

Jack and Diane discovered a gift box from Patty containing Mr. Kitty. Patty included a letter claiming that she was leaving town, but she believed she and Jack would one day have their happy ending. Meanwhile, Phyllis was livid when she realized Matt had checked out of the motel, leaving behind a letter for her to explain that he’d taken off with Patty to protect everyone else. Jack and Diane rejected Phyllis’ pleas to help her track Patty down, but they agreed to keep one another informed if Patty reached out.

The Newmans were thrilled when Nick returned home from rehab, although they harbored fears that Nick wasn’t ready. Nick was disappointed when Victor frowned upon his resuming work, but Victoria offered to let Nick make a gradual transition back into the family business.

Matt showed up at Crimson Lights to say goodbye to Nick and Sharon, insisting he was leaving town. Phyllis ran into Matt and demanded answers, but she was unable to convince him to stay. After Phyllis bitterly wished Matt luck and stormed off, he broke down in tears. Phyllis went to The Shadow Room to drown her sorrows and found Daniel tending bar.

Love in the Air

Victoria and Kyle admitted that they hadn’t been able to stop thinking about one another. Victoria arranged a seductive scene at the motel, complete with a blindfold and ice. Victoria and Kyle agreed to continue seeing one another in secret. Victoria hid her ongoing correspondence with Kyle from Claire.

Billy and Sally bonded over his failed attempt to make her a bizarre pizza concoction to satisfy her cravings. Chelsea later found Sally in the middle of a meltdown, overwhelmed by her pregnancy and the expectations of being a wife, mother, and businesswoman. After Chelsea calmed Sally down, Sally considered asking Chelsea to be a bridesmaid. Jack and Kyle planned a bachelor event for Billy, while Audra did the same for Sally’s bachelorette bash.

Nate and Stephanie spent a lighthearted evening of wine and dancing together, ultimately having sex. Stephanie worried Holden wouldn’t approve of their relationship. Cane attempted to make amends with Devon, who insisted that Cane leave Lily alone.
