The Young and the Restless Recap, September 21-25, 2026: Diane Prepares for Battle, Billy Gives In, and Phyllis Lets Matt Go

On The Young and the Restless from Monday, September 21 through Friday, September 25, 2026, Nikki announced Vibrante’s launch date, Victoria and Kyle continued their secret affair, Billy and Sally quibbled over wedding guests, and Phyllis and Matt said goodbye.

Valentine’s Day Massacre

Jack and Diane learned that Patty remained at large. Diane was irritated when Nikki showed up at the Abbott home to announce her plans for a Valentine’s Day launch of Vibrante. Diane repeatedly implied that the startup was destined to fail and was worried that Victor would try to use Vibrante to attack Jabot. Jack stood by his promise to offer Nikki insight into the cosmetics industry, leading to Diane accusing him of prioritizing his friendship with Nikki over their marriage. Diane later plotted to crush Vibrante during its launch.

Victoria and Kyle continued to dodge questions from their family while secretly meeting at the motel. Kyle covered when Matt and Phyllis encountered him leaving the motel room, while Victoria panicked as she overheard the encounter. Victoria later squirmed when Claire consulted her about getting over an ex, but she was relieved when her daughter voiced concern about how Victoria was handling Billy’s upcoming nuptials. Victoria and Kyle realized they needed to be more careful to avoid getting caught.

Wedding Recipe for Disaster

Billy struggled with accepting Sally's decision to ask Chelsea to be one of her bridesmaids, adamant that Adam not attend the wedding. Sally insisted that she wanted peace and that Adam was a part of her past. Sally and Chelsea’s bond deepened when a touched Chelsea accepted Sally’s invitation. Audra opposed the idea of Chelsea being in the wedding party, but she resolved to make the best of it to appease Sally. Adam taunted Billy with the idea that he’d show up at the ceremony.

Sally and Cane tried to convince Billy to invite Jill to the wedding, but Billy vehemently defended his choice not to have his mother there. Traci later appealed to Billy not to shut Jill out, citing her own regrets about her complicated relationship with Dina. Billy agreed to let Jill attend – as long as they avoided conflict.

Taking It to the Matt

Matt asked Phyllis to run away with him, but he realized that she needed to stay in Genoa City to have a chance of reuniting with her children. Phyllis begged Matt not to leave with Patty, but Matt remained intent on keeping everyone safe from the madwoman. Phyllis and Matt confided their feelings for one another and ended up having sex. Phyllis defeatedly accepted that she couldn’t stop Matt from leaving, but they both hoped they would meet again.

Nick resumed working at Newman Enterprises as he adjusted to life outside rehab. Nick thanked Sharon for her support during his struggle. Sharon continued to blame Matt for Nick’s addiction, but Nick acknowledged his own responsibility for allowing it to happen. Nick planned to reach out to Jack to be his sponsor.
