On the Monday, September 7, 2026 episode of The Young and the Restless, Jack suffered a centipede bite, Nate and Stephanie kissed, Marie confessed to killing her husband, and Victoria and Kyle enjoyed another tryst.
Thin Walls

In a room at the Riverbank Motel, Kyle anxiously waited for Victoria. He peeked outside but quickly ducked back in when the door to the next room opened. Next door, Phyllis retrieved a food delivery from outside her door and mentioned to Matt that someone had checked in next to them. Victoria scurried past Phyllis and Matt’s window unseen and knocked on Kyle’s door. They bantered about her being late but quickly succumbed to a kiss.
Phyllis and Matt contemplated the idea of staging a heroic act in which Matt rescued Sharon. Phyllis figured that Nick was usually the one to save Sharon and it would simply be a change for Matt to rescue the perpetual damsel in distress. They heard giggling through the thin walls as Victoria and Kyle undressed and fell onto the bed.
After having sex, Victoria and Kyle admitted that they’d been thinking a lot about one another, but she protested that they couldn’t keep meeting like that on a regular basis. Kyle questioned what would be the worst thing that could happen if they kept meeting secretly. Victoria imagined what a disaster it would be if the Abbott and Newman families found out they were sleeping together.
Kyle defended that he and Victoria didn’t have to explain themselves and it wasn’t like they were dating. Victoria insisted it was purely physical, but she thought it was too risky to take the chance of anyone else finding out. As they got dressed, Victoria proposed that they stagger their departures. Kyle remarked that it had been fun while it had lasted. They kissed.
Meanwhile, Matt swore that he’d put his life on the line to save Sharon because he owed her that much. Phyllis wished everyone in town could hear how sincere he was. They unsuccessfully tossed around ideas about how to make it seem Sharon was in peril. Phyllis assured him she would think of something.
Phyllis exited her room, and her phone rang as Victoria stepped outside hers. Victoria spied Phyllis and tried to retreat into the room, but the door was locked. Victoria quickly hid behind a housekeeping cart. Victoria waited until Phyllis walked away and then rapped on Kyle’s door. A panicked Victoria informed Kyle that Phyllis had almost seen her and wondered what Phyllis had been doing at the motel.
Later, Phyllis returned and promised Matt that she’d think of something that would allow him to win over the Newmans. She envisioned that everyone would accept that he’d created a new life that Phyllis would be part of. Matt recognized how much Phyllis had sacrificed and vowed to make it worth her time.
Bite of the Centipede

In Tahiti, Jack and Diane prepared to go on a hike. She protested that he couldn’t do it in sandals, but he dared her to keep up. A short time later, they returned to their hotel room after he’d been bitten by a centipede. He conceded that she’d been right about the sandals.
After a local doctor tended to Jack, he acknowledged that his ego hurt more than his foot. Jack pointed out that if he had to tell Kyle and Harrison that his swollen foot was a result of wearing the shoes his wife had told him not to wear, he’d also have to tell them that Diane had gotten her finger stuck in a bottle. They laughed.
Diane declared herself Jack’s nurse, and he flirtatiously suggested she show him her best bedside manner. She crawled into bed with him and cooed that she knew how to make him feel better. Jack lamented that the trip hadn’t gone as they’d expected, but Diane was happy they were talking and laughing instead of fighting. Diane added that no matter how angry she’d been, she’d never doubted she still loved Jack, and she felt like she was falling in love with him all over again.
Post-Op Care

Stephanie escorted Nate to his penthouse after his surgery. She informed him that she’d had the surgery recorded in case he wanted to watch it during his recovery. Nate was hopeful it was the first step in his comeback as a surgeon, but he accepted the possibility that the procedure hadn’t worked. Stephanie assured him that she’d be with him every step of the way. Nate thought he would never have admitted to himself how much he wanted to be a surgeon again or found a way to make it happen if it hadn’t been for her.
Lily and Devon stopped by to visit Nate, so Stephanie left to check on things at the hospital. They discussed the possibility of Nate performing surgery again. Lily realized that she, Nate, and Devon had all had amazing surgeons who had helped them. Nate was grateful for his cousins’ support, noting they hadn’t always been that close. They toasted to the Winters family and to Nate’s dreams being fulfilled.
After Lily and Devon left, Stephanie returned with takeout. Nate mentioned that he’d received the video of the surgery and invited her to watch it with him. She joked that they were two medical nerds, and he responded that he couldn’t think of a better way to spend the afternoon – or a better person to spend it with. They kissed.
Taking Responsibility

At the rehab facility, Marie was rattled when a police officer informed her that Logan had been taken to the morgue. Nick urged the cop to give Marie time after losing her husband. The officer proclaimed that no one was going anywhere until he determined what had happened. Nick claimed that it had been his fault.
Nick explained that he’d been innocently consoling an upset Marie when her husband had walked in. Nick continued that Logan had shoved him after assuming Nick had been hitting on Marie, and during the ensuing scuffle, Logan had fallen but hadn’t gotten up. Nick asserted that he’d simply been defending himself.
Marie refused to let Nick take the blame, and she admitted that she and her husband had been alone at the time of his fall. Nick advised Marie to take time to think things through, but Marie was ready to face the consequences. Nick objected to taking Marie out of treatment when she’d acted in self-defense. Marie appreciated everything Nick was trying to do, but she insisted on facing what was next alone. She reasoned that Logan was a big part of why she’d kept getting high, and she might have a shot at getting clean with him out of the picture.
Nick told Marie to trust Michael when the lawyer showed up to see her. Marie headed out with the cop. Nick apologized to a counselor if he’d broken the rules by trying to take the blame, but he hadn’t wanted to see Marie spiral. The counselor clucked that Marie was the only person to make that choice.
