The Young and the Restless: The storyline that should have ended months ago

On The Young and the Restless, there is one storyline that has been dragging on for well over a year, and it's the one that involves Holden and Audra's L.A. secret. We finally know that Holden accidentally killed an art gallery owner in The Shadow Room while protecting Audra from him. He then buried the man in an unmarked grave. When will someone in Genoa City finally discover this secret?

Y&R's Holden (Nathan Owens) and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) have had numerous scenes together since he appeared on the canvas in January 2025, and yet, their secret still hasn't been exposed. Is anyone in GC ever going to discover what they're hiding?

It's now a year and three months later. Considering that the storyline has been dragged out for so long, some Y&R fans may not even care about it anymore. That's not a good thing, considering how much time the Y&R writers invested in building up the story.

There are so many possible characters who could discover the secret, which could make the story more interesting and give it forward movement. Sally (Courtney Hope) is Audra's best friend and new business partner. What if she were to discover the secret? Billy (Jason Thompson) is involved with Sally, but he doesn't like Audra. What if he discovered it? Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Claire (Hayley Erin) have both been itching to strike back at Audra for her deal with Victor (Eric Braeden) to ruin their relationship.

Claire was hunting for answers, but then, she suddenly (and for no apparent reason) decided to stop searching. How much longer do the Y&R writers plan to keep the secret under wraps?

Does Claire want Holden back?

Did anyone else notice how Claire lit up when Holden walked into the GCAC last week, when she was with Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott)? Just a couple of weeks ago, she told him that she didn't want to see him anymore. Is she having second thoughts?

Perhaps they will get back together, and that will renew her desire to find out what he's hiding. And then, maybe we will finally get some progress in this storyline? Let's hope so, because someone needs to blow this secret wide open so we can finally put it to rest and move on to something new.

Will Noah or Sienna uncover the secret?

Ex-sweethearts Noah (Lucas Adams) and Audra have run into each other a few times since he returned home, which could be a sign that they will reunite. Perhaps he will discover the secret? When he asked her how well she knew Matt (Roger Howarth) from her L.A. days, he suspected that she wasn't being honest with all of her answers. Now that Noah has been brought back into Audra's orbit, and now that he has met Holden, will he become suspicious that she and Holden are hiding something?

Noah is especially curious because of his involvement with Sienna (Tamara Braun). She and Matt were co-owners of The Shadow Room. If someone accidentally died there because of Holden, then Noah would want to know about it. He's very protective of Sienna, and he knows that she has already endured enough torment at the hands of Matt. Even though Matt had nothing to do with the gallery owner's death, it still took place in his and Sienna's place of business.

Noah knows that the last thing Sienna needs to deal with (on top of the Matt issue) is to find out that a fatal act of violence took place at The Shadow Room when she was running it. Sienna told Claire that no one has seen or heard from the gallery owner in a long time, but she doesn't seem to know any more than that -- or does she?

Whatever direction that Y&R writers take the storyline in, let's just hope that someone -- anyone -- discovers the secret very soon, because it's been dragging on way past its expiration date.
