The Young and the Restless' Holden spent all of last Friday's episode trying to convince Audra to team up with him to break up Kyle and Claire, who aren't even officially together. Why is he so hellbent on doing this? Here are three reasons why their scheme could backfire:
Claire may think Holden is acting like a stalker on The Young and the Restless

Claire (Hayley Erin) already told Holden (Nathan Owens) that she doesn't want to pursue a relationship with him any further. She doesn't trust him, so she broke it off. Why is he insisting on getting back together with someone who doesn't trust him and who is clearly done with him?
If he continues to pursue her, then he may start to give off stalker vibes. Some fans of The Young and the Restless felt this way when Kyle (Michael Mealor) kept trying to work things out with her after she broke up with him last year. Claire felt like Kyle didn't respect her wishes and her desire to be on her own. She may feel the same way about Holden if he does the same thing that Kyle did and keeps pursuing her.
Claire might start snooping again about the L.A. secret

Even if Holden does manage to win back Claire, that would put him in a precarious position, because she might start digging into his and Audra's past again. Claire was obsessed with uncovering the whole truth about their L.A. secret and what became of the art gallery owner.
She has recently decided to give up her investigation. But if Holden actually succeeds in persuading her to give him a second chance, then she might start her investigation all over again. So, even though he lost Claire, he really should just cut his losses and move on. That would be the wisest thing he could do for himself, because what is he going to do if she takes him back and then she discovers that he accidentally killed the gallery owner and buried his body in an unmarked grave? He is going to be up a creek without a paddle!
If Nate learns about the scheme, he will realize he was right to dump Audra

Audra (Zuleyka Silver) spent all of last Friday's episode wisely telling Holden that she wasn't interested in teaming up with him to break up Kyle and Claire. Then, in the last five minutes or so, she did a 180 and changed her mind. That made no sense, especially since she knows where her schemes always get her -- nowhere. She already tried to break up Kyle and Claire when she teamed up with Victor (Eric Braeden), and she lost Nate (Sean Dominic) because of it -- and because she lied to him about it.
Nothing has been the same for Audra since then. She lost what was arguably the best relationship she's ever been in, and she also lost the respect and friendship of Amy (Valarie Pettiford). So, why is Audra reverting back to her old ways and agreeing to engage in another break-up scheme involving Kyle and Claire?
Even though Nate broke up with her months ago, Audra still cares for him and has tried more than once to win him back. If she ever hopes to score points with him again, then this new scheme certainly isn't the way to do that. It's only going to push him even further away and make him realize that he was right to break up with her -- and that she hasn't changed.
