The Young and the Restless: Why Jack should NOT team up with Patty

The Young and the Restless' Jack is about to make a huge mistake, one that may end up destroying his already fractured marriage. He wants to team up with Patty as a way of getting revenge against Victor. Jack should reconsider this tactic, because if he goes through with it, then things are about to go from bad to worse.

Jack (Peter Bergman) had what appeared to be a light-bulb moment when he told Billy (Jason Thompson) that he's considering teaming up with Patty (Stacy Haiduk) to get revenge against Victor (Eric Braeden). Jack, no! What is he thinking? He said, at this point, he has nothing to lose. But that isn't true. He has everything to lose (namely, his marriage), and it's a shame that Billy just stood there and didn't remind him of that.

After Diane (Susan Walters) first found Jack in bed with Patty, Billy gave him good brotherly advice. He told Jack to be patient and give Diane some time to be alone so she can think everything over. The image of Jack in bed with Patty was still raw for her. So, why didn't Billy speak up now and remind Jack that it's only been a few weeks since the incident with Patty? Jack is being too impatient and trying to woo Diane back with material gifts of jewelry and flowers, when the only "gift" she really needs from him is his patience.

Diane is already hurt as it is. If he teams up with Patty now, then Diane may see them talking at the GCAC -- and she will get the wrong idea. Unless Jack lets Diane in on his plan, she's going to think that Jack is having an ongoing affair with Patty! If that happens, then Diane will surely divorce Jack.

Even if Jack asks Patty to come to the Abbott mansion, there is still the possibility that Diane could stop by unexpectedly -- just like the time she showed up and found Jack entertaining Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) with scones. No matter where Jack might decide to meet with Patty, there's a possibility that Diane could run into them.

Even if Jack is considering paying Patty to team up with him against Victor, what makes Jack think he can trust her? Perhaps that's another point that Billy should have made when he and Jack spoke. Patty has a history of mental instability and violence. Heck, she even tried to kill Jack a couple of times, many years ago. It's highly doubtful that she truly is "redeemed," as she says she is. What if she ends up double-crossing him?

Victor paid Patty a generous sum of money to seduce Jack on the yacht. For all Jack knows, Patty might tattle on him. She might tell Victor about his revenge plan, and then, Victor might offer her even more money if she agrees not to team up with Jack.

It just feels like Jack's plan is a bad idea, no matter how he may try to carry it out. He's only going to make everything worse for himself. Diane will leave him for good, and Victor will laugh in his face. Don't do it, Jack!
