Earlier this week on The Young and the Restless, Lily overheard Nikki and Claire at the Chancellor Park Cafe as they discussed Chancellor Industries. When Nikki asked Lily what deal she'd made with Victor that persuaded her to agree to his kidnapping scheme, Lily lied and said there was no deal. Was that a sign that Lily may get Chancellor after all, and that her lie will come back to bite her?
Everyone wants Chancellor on The Young and the Restless

It's amazing how many Y&R characters want to run Chancellor Industries. Billy (Jason Thompson) has wanted it back for years. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) told Claire (Hayley Erin) at Chancellor Park Cafe that she would love to run the company again. Due to her split from Victor (Eric Braeden), though, she doesn't believe that he will be willing to give it back to her. Nikki's suggestion that Claire run it was shocking and far-fetched. Claire only has a few years of business experience under her belt (if even that much), although we bet she would happily run it if Victor offered her the chance.
Then, Lily (Christel Khalil) appeared and overheard the conversation. Lily wants the company as well, partly so she can give it to Devon (Bryton James), who ironically, doesn't even want it. But since he is Katherine Chancellor's (Jeanne Cooper) grandson, he seems like the perfect choice to run the company.
Lily's deal with Victor

Lily flashed back to her meeting with Victor after she arrived home. It was then that we learned about the deal she had made with him. She agreed to go along with his kidnapping scheme if he agreed to give her Chancellor.
Of course, though, things didn't go as she had planned. When she finally arrived home from the kidnapping, Victor told her he wasn't ready to give her the company yet. She became furious because this was the second time he'd betrayed her. Are you really surprised, Lily? This is Victor we're talking about. He assured her, though, that this setback was only temporary. He said he needed "to weaponize Chancellor to wrest control of Newman Enterprises from Phyllis (Michelle Stafford)."
Victor insisted that he would make good on his promise to give Chancellor to Lily. Will he really stick to their agreement, or will he come up with another reason (or excuse) to keep Chancellor in his possession?
Lily's lie to Nikki may come back to haunt her

Nikki asked Lily what deal she'd made with Victor that persuaded her to agree to the kidnapping. Lily lied and told her there was no deal. She simply wanted to teach Cane (Billy Flynn) a lesson for all the pain he'd inflicted on everyone in Genoa City. But when Lily left Nikki and Claire, Nikki had a suspicious look on her face. She isn't buying Lily's story!
This feels like a foreshadowing that when all is said and done, Victor is going to give Chancellor to Lily after all. If (or when) that happens, Lily's lie will be exposed! Nikki will feel blindsided and maybe even a little hurt, since she likes Lily and views her as a friend.
How will Lily's deception affect her relationship with Nikki? We can only guess that Nikki will never trust her again. After all, Lily's only real reason for lying was because she wasn't sure that Victor would make good on his promise. But if he does, then this storyline is about to get interesting. If Victor gives her Chancellor, then Nikki will feel betrayed by both Victor and Lily. She will have yet another reason to be angry at Victor, on top of the fact that he kidnapped Jack (Peter Bergman) and hired Patty (Stacy Haiduk) to seduce him. Stay tuned, Y&R fans! It's going to be fun to see how this Chancellor storyline plays out.
