On Friday's episode of The Young and the Restless, Matt Clark sent Sharon a text message from Nick's phone. If Sharon had paid close attention to the words, then perhaps she would have realized that it wasn't from Nick. Let's study the message more closely to discover why.

When Matt (Roger Howarth) stole Nick's (Joshua Morrow) phone and used it to send Sharon (Sharon Case) a text message, pretending to be Nick, alarm bells should have gone off in her head. Here's why.

The message read, "I have Matt. It's over. Come to Vegas now if you want to see Matt go down." Nick would never tell Sharon to come to Vegas. He has constantly emphasized that he wants to take care of Matt on his own. He wants to have a one-on-one showdown with Matt, who has been his archenemy for over 25 years. Nick has been itching to get him out of the Newmans' lives for good, and he wants to be the one to do it.

We've seen countless scenes of an infuriated Nick thundering on about all of this. That's how he ended up with the leg injury that led to his painkiller addiction. He was driving a zip-tied Matt to an unknown location in the middle of the night, when Matt managed to free himself and caused Nick to crash the car.

When Noah (Lucas Adams) offered to come to Vegas to help search for Matt, Nick told him not to come. Nick didn't even want Adam (Mark Grossman) to go with him to Vegas, because he knew that Adam would be revisiting a dark period in his life as Spider.

Sharon should know this is a trap — and get out of there!

When Sharon sees that Nick (really Matt) directed her to a remote area in Vegas, let's hope she and Noah get a clue and get the heck out of there! She knows that Matt has a history of playing dangerous games with her and Nick. Plus, this place looks a litlle like the abandoned spot that Matt lured her and Nick to in Los Angeles, after he kidnapped Noah and Sienna (Tamara Braun).

If Nick really did have Matt right where he wanted him, then he wouldn't bother waiting for Sharon to fly to Vegas to join him. That would take too much time. He would take care of Matt right then and there. And if Nick was planning to kill Matt, then he wouldn't want Sharon there to watch him do it.

Let's hope Sharon and Noah wise up and get out of this creepy situation before Matt shows up. We don't need any more The Young and the Restless kidnappings. We've had enough to last us for the rest of the year, if not longer! Sharon wasn't very smart to hop on a plane to Vegas without calling Nick first and having a real conversation with him, after she received that text message.

And here's where Matt should have been smarter...

Considering how much Matt has been outsmarting both Nick and Adam in Vegas, it's surprising that he didn't pay closer attention to the storage room he locked them in. He took both of their phones, but apparently, he didn't notice that there was a phone on the wall inside of the room! Luckily, Adam was smart enough to look around, and he noticed the phone. Thankfully, the phone was operating, so he was able to call Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) for help.

If Matt had looked around the room and seen the phone, then he could have disconnected it. But he wasn't observant, and that was his one mistake — so far, anyway. Let's hope the Y&R writers wrap up this Vegas storyline soon, otherwise The Great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) might have to fly there and take care of Matt himself. He might as well, since he doesn't have Newman Enterprises to run at the moment!
