The Young and the Restless: Why Traci and Ashley should be involved in the search for Jack

Jack's kidnapping storyline on The Young and the Restless is stirring up a boatload (no pun intended) of drama for the Abbotts, but it doesn't feel complete without Traci and Ashley there. In the previews for next week, Nikki fills Traci in on the situation, but we should have seen both sisters this week throughout the search. Surely, they would have flown home to Genoa City to join their family in this time of crisis.

Even though we hate that Victor (Eric Braeden) kidnapped Jack (Peter Bergman), it was fun to see Jack wake up in the cabin on the yacht with his hair slightly mussed. We're so used to seeing him impeccably dressed in every episode he's in, with every hair on his head in place. Despite our annoyance over all the kidnappings we've witnessed on The Young and the Restless over the past two years, that was one small moment in Jack's kidnapping that gave us a chuckle.

But where are Traci and Ashley? Didn't Billy (Jason Thompson), Diane (Susan Walters), or Kyle (Michael Mealor) call them to tell them that Victor kidnapped their brother? The Abbotts are a close-knit family, in spite of the squabbles they've had with each other over the years. Traci and Ashley love Jack. Surely they would want to be kept in the loop. Maybe they could visit The Mustache and ask him what the heck he's done with their brother!

When Diane, Kyle, and Billy sat together in Society, wondering where Jack is, it didn't feel right that Traci and Ashley weren't there with them. The entire Abbott family should band together right now.

Billy should have the company and support of both of his sisters during a time like this. Diane was distraught as she looked at the photo of an unconscious Jack in an unknown location. Traci has an inner strength that the other Abbotts rely on during difficult times. Diane could use her support and her calming influence right now.

Ashley should be there also because she used to be married to Victor, so she might be the only Abbott who can reach him on an emotional level. But Traci may be able to do that as well, considering that she permitted Victor to receive her daughter Colleen's (Tammin Sursok) heart when he underwent a transplant years ago. Traci should remind him that he wouldn't even be alive if not for her daughter, and this is how he repays them? By kidnapping Traci's brother? Shame on you, Victor! That's the Black Knight for you.

Jack is always a supportive brother to his sisters

Jack was there for Ashley when she struggled with dissociative identity disorder. He was also a source of strength and support for Traci during her romance with the man she thought was Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins) -- but who turned out to be his psychotic twin brother, Martin.

So, Ashley and Traci would want to be there for Jack in his time of need as well. Even though they only appear on The Young and the Restless on a recurring basis, this is a storyline that they should be involved in.

Also, someone should tell Abby (Melissa Ordway) that her father, Victor, kidnapped her Uncle Jack. But maybe Billy, Diane, and Kyle don't want to involve her, because it will only dredge up the memory of her son Dominic's (Ethan Ray Clark) kidnapping, which happened only several weeks ago.
