Nick's pill addiction on The Young and the Restless has intensified during his stay in Las Vegas with Adam. This week, he almost fell to the floor while rising from a casino table. Was that a sign that he's going to pass out during his and Adam's search for Matt Clark?
Nick almost fell on The Young and the Restless

On Tuesday's episode of The Young and the Restless, Nick (Joshua Morrow) killed some time at a Las Vegas casino table while Adam (Mark Grossman) met with Riza (Tina Casciani) in his hotel room. As Nick rose from the table to leave, he almost fell, likely from the effects of the pills he's become addicted to. Luckily, he was able to steady himself, but the other casino guests could tell that something was wrong. The dealer even asked him whether he was all right.
Could that near-fall be a foreshadowing that Nick is going to pass out and wind up in the hospital during his stay in Vegas? The way he's been popping pills the past few weeks, we wouldn't be surprised. What's worse is that he's taking fentanyl, which is a powerful drug that can have deadly consequences.
We assume that his pill-popping will cause him to pass out eventually. It's not a matter of if, but when. But a collapse in Vegas would create even more conflict, considering how much Nick and Adam already have on their plates. They are trying to find out where Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) is hiding, so they can take him down once and for all.
Noah could tell that Nick didn't sound right on the phone

When The Young and the Restless' Noah (Lucas Adams) called Nick, their conversation seemed like another foreshadowing that Nick's pill problem would land him in a Vegas hospital. Noah noticed that Nick didn't sound like himself. Nick dismissed his concerns and assured Noah that he was "good." But even we could tell, from the sound of Nick's voice, that he isn't doing well at all.
Later, Noah went to Crimson Lights and spoke to Sharon (Sharon Case), but he didn't tell her how concerned how strange Nick sounded on the phone. Maybe he didn't want to worry her? Noah offered to fly to Vegas himself and help with the search for Matt.
Since he and Sienna (Tamara Braun) haven't opened a nightclub in Genoa City yet, maybe this would be the perfect time for him to make that trip. The more family Nick has around him, the better. Right now, he only has Adam, who is busy trying to find out the connection between Riza and Matt.
Sharon needs to stay in Genoa City with Mariah

The Young and the Restless writers were strategic in the way they wrote this Las Vegas storyline. They arranged it so that all of Nick's loved ones are preoccupied with other important things, so they can't be with him in Vegas -- which, unfortunately, may be the place where all the pills he's consumed may finally get the better of him.
Sharon needs to stay in Genoa City to help Mariah (Camryn Grimes), who is struggling with emotional problems and is in legal trouble because she kidnapped Dominic (Ethan Ray Clark). Victoria (Amelia Heinle) flew to Milan to try to persuade Summer (Allison Lanier) to come back to GC and side with the Newmans against Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). Victor (Eric Braeden) is determined to get the rest of his empire back from Phyllis in any way that he can. Lastly, he and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) are having serious marital problems because she is furious that he kidnapped Jack (Peter Bergman).
So, that means the only person in Nick's family who can be there for him in Vegas is Adam. This is a negative situation, in one way, but a positive one in another way. If Nick passes out and is recuperating in the hospital, then Adam will need to handle the Matt Clark problem all on his own. But the good thing about that scenario is that it will demonstrate yet another way that Adam is helping out his brother in his time of need.
The Newman brothers have come a long way since the days when they hated each other. The Vegas storyline is helping to bridge the gap between them. And if Nick does collapse in Vegas and ends up in the hospital, then we will see Adam step up for him in the most amazing way. Adam doesn't know Matt well, but this will give him a chance to get better acquainted with him. A storyline of Adam versus Matt could be entertaining. Let's not forget that Adam has a conniving past himself! He was the black sheep of the Newman family, so he may be a more formidable opponent for Matt than Nick is. Stay tuned, Y&R fans!
