The Young and the Restless' Victor Newman always keeps us guessing. And now, he's keeping Lily guessing as well. We now know that Lily agreed to the kidnapping on one condition: that Victor would give her Chancellor Industries after Phyllis gave it back to him. But now, Victor is stalling. What gives? Will he keep his word and give Chancellor to Lily?

Lily's dilemma on The Young and the Restless

For months on The Young and the Restless, Lily (Christel Khalil) allowed Cane (Billy Flynn), Devon (Bryton James), and Nate (Sean Dominic) to worry about her safety when she agreed to let Victor "kidnap" her and her twins, Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry).

As it turns out, she put her family through all that worry with the understanding that Victor (Eric Braeden) would give her Chancellor Industries, a company she ran years ago before Jill (Jess Walton) eventually sold it to Victor. Didn't he play her for a fool once before? She thought she would get Chancellor the last time, too, but he gave it to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) instead. When will Lily ever learn?

The funny thing is that Devon doesn't even want Chancellor, even though it was his grandmother, Katherine's (Jeanne Cooper), company. And here, Lily went through all of that kidnapping nonsense for a company that her brother doesn't even want. And yet, it feels like Devon deserves it more than anyone else does, since he is Katherine's grandson.

But the big question is, why hasn't Victor made good on his promise to Lily yet? Why is he still hanging on to Chancellor? Is he considering giving it back to Nikki?

And here's something that doesn't make sense...

When exactly did Victor make this deal with Lily? Did he make it right after she left Genoa City, months ago? If he did, then why didn't he tell Nikki about it? He always wanted Nikki to have Chancellor. Why didn't he ask Nikki months ago how she would feel if he gave Chancellor to Lily? He knows how much it meant to Nikki to run Chancellor in honor of her friend Katherine's legacy.

Victor and Nikki's big fight didn't take place on The Young and the Restless until just a couple of weeks ago, so it's not like he kept her in the dark all these months because he was angry at her. He's only been angry at her for the past couple of weeks. So, the timing of his deal with Lily is very confusing.

Does Nikki even want Chancellor anymore?

When Nikki told Claire (Hayley Erin) that Victor had kidnapped Jack (Peter Bergman), the victory of reclaiming Chancellor felt hollow to her, since it came at the expense of Jack's kidnapping. Does she even want Chancellor anymore? She knows that Katherine would never approve of what Victor did to get the company back. So, taking all of that into consideration, would Nikki be all right with Lily running Chancellor now?

We need to see a conversation between Lily and Nikki, where Lily fills her in on her deal with Victor. Victor won't talk to Nikki right now, and it would be interesting to see what her reaction is to the deal that he struck with Lily.

Is he really going to follow through on his promise to Lily to give her Chancellor? Or will he end up letting her down again? Will he hang on to Chancellor until he and Nikki eventually reconcile and then give it back to her? Let's hope we find out in the next week or two!
