Here's your recap for The Young and the Restless episode that aired Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
Back to School

Lily and Nate toasted a business deal victory at Lily's apartment. Devon and Abby arrived. He said he had something to share that was going to change their lives. Devon said that he wanted to be a better parent, recalling the day that he was busy at work when Dominic was kidnapped.
He said that he nearly paid the ultimate price of losing his son. Devon said that he was going to make sure that never happened again. Lily asked Abby if she was carrying guilt, too. She said it was hard not to.
Devon said that what was going on with him was bigger than Dominic, but it was more than Mariah that had been bugging him. Devon asked himself what he was doing with his life, and did it matter to anyone? How was he making the world a better place?
Devon said that he had a plan. He was stepping away from the business, and he was going to leave the running of Winters to Nate and Lily -- without him! Devon added that he wasn't retiring, but rather he was taking his life and inheritance in a new direction. He wanted to make the world a better place.
Lily said that Devon gives money away. Devon said that he wanted to do more than write checks. He wanted to see exactly where the money goes. Devon wanted to show Dominic the importance of spreading the values that Neil showed them. He would want his kids to pay it forward.
Devon said he hoped that Lily and Nate liked his plan as much as he did. Devon revealed that he planned to build a progressive liberal arts college open to everyone, whether they could afford tuition or not. The school would be heavy on the arts. Abby said that she was giving Devon his full support.
Devon added that he'd named the school The Neil Winters College of Arts & Humanities. Lily agreed that Devon should use the name as it would help keep Neil's name alive. Lily hugged Devon, telling him that she was proud of him. She wished that Neil were still there with them.
Devon said he wasn't going away entirely. He'd still be on the board. Nate agreed that this was good for Devon. Lily said that she'd miss Devon, and it was up to Nate to be the dealmaker. Abby got a text from Lucy that said that Dom wanted his parents to read him a bedtime story.
The Doctor Is Out

Abby and Devon left. Lily asked Nate why he was so quiet. Nate said Devon's decision was perfect -- for him. He was worried about how it would affect him, but not how Lily was likely thinking.
Devon and Abby stopped by Society so that Abby could take care of a bit of work. She and Devon prepared to go home so that they could read Dominic his bedtime story. Abby said that she was happy with Devon's decision as it brought him back to her. They kissed.
Meanwhile, Nate told Lily that he wanted to return to medicine. He said that he had closed a door on that till Stephanie invited him back. He can't get it out of his head. It was always there, even before Stephanie. Nate wasn't sure that he could leave now that Devon was going.
Nick Makes a New Friend

A mysterious woman walked into Nick's seedy motel room at the Park Motel. She asked Nick if he had anything to share, noting he seemed like he was in rough shape due to his shouting. She asked his cocktail of choice. She rattled off some chemical formulas about drugs. Nick told her that he was trying to get clean. A text went off. He looked at his phone and texted back a message.
The mystery woman told Nick that he wasn't in rehab; he claimed to be going back till morning. She sat on the bed and introduced herself as Maria, saying it was a long time till the morning. Marie suggested that Nick sit and enjoy the company. He could enjoy the ride.
Nick invited Marie to go to a meeting with him. She said she's tried all the programs and she's back where she started. Marie offered to leave Nick alone, but said if he changed his mind about wanting to party, she was right next door. Nick asked her not to go.
Marie asked if Nick was going to try to save her, as he looked the type. She told him that she didn't need help and didn't want his. Marie has had that talk with dozens of people, way too many times. Marie said that she liked her life, and she guessed that Nick liked his new life; he stated he did not. She told him that the second he feeds his craving, he feels better. "I'm not feeding anything," Nick said.
Marie remained skeptical as Nick wasn't in rehab. He was in this crummy motel. Marie asked if Nick was married and had kids. He said he was divorced and he had four kids (Noah, Summer, Faith, and Christian). Marie said that you try to play by the rules and then, you wake up and realize that everything is just wrong on every level. Marie urged him to take a break before he lost his mind.
A Meeting of the Minds and Bodies

Marie suggested to Nick that neither of them try to talk the other out of their choices. Marie added that she knew a few people who found a program that stuck with them. Nick said his goal was to be one of those people. Marie left, telling Nick that she was right next door if he changed his mind. Alone, Nick grappled with his addiction.
Nick flushed his pills down the toilet. Marie returned to get her key. Nick said that he needed nothing from her. She left. Then, Nick found another packet of pills underneath the blanket. "Dammit," he said.
Later, Nick and Marie were lying in bed, feeling high, presumably having taken some pills. "Feels good to feel nothing," Marie said. Nick replied: "So good." Marie noted it was hard to explain this feeling to people who didn't get it, people like her husband. Marie said that he walked away from her. Marie referred to an accident, having been rear-ended by a semi, and going through a window, which got her hooked on opioids.
Then, her doctor said that she couldn't have any more. Nick referred to his accident and how it came about. Marie asked if Nick was able to get Matt away from hurting his family. Nick said he tried, but he failed. Marie noted that they were never getting out of this. "I know," Nick said.
Marie quipped that Nick wasn't making it back to rehab anytime soon. He let out a laugh. "Doesn't look good," he said. Marie lamented that the pain always comes back, so the pills are the only way she feels safe. Nick said that that was sad and scary. Marie said that if you embrace the high, it's all you really need. She leaned in to kiss him, and Nick responded. He climbed on top of her.
Coffee Talk, Coffee Kiss

At Crimson Lights, Jack said that he was pausing the battle with Victor. Kyle noted that Jack sounded like Victoria. Then, Jack and Kyle came upon Vicki, who was crying in the backroom of Crimson Lights. Kyle said they weren't leaving till she confessed about what was upsetting her.
Vicki shared that Nick didn't go back to rehab after going to a family event. Vicki said that she didn't know where he was. Jack said Nick's condition was a disease, not a character flaw. He said he'd be happy to be his sponsor, but he never heard back. Jack updated Vicki that he was almost recovered from the stabbing. Kyle said that Patty was locked up in a mental ward in prison. Kyle made a dig that Victor was responsible. Vicki said they had to find Nick before he started using again. Victoria lamented that Nick's tracking app was off and that the Newman security team was trying to find him.
Jack agreed that Nick needed to be back in treatment. He added that Vicki wouldn't hear from her brother until he was ready to come back. Jack surmised that rehab was hard for Nick; Vicki pointed out that he was hardly there. Jack said rehab for Nick must have been hell, as he had no agency there.
Jack left to take a call from Nikki. Vicki asked if Adam was truly sympathetic to Nick's plight, given his feelings towards Victor. Vicki said that she hated that Victor hurt Jack. Kyle said that Jack agrees they should put the negativity behind them. He added that he hoped Nick could win his fight. Victoria said that she didn't know what she would do without her brother.
Vicki apologized to Kyle for being so wrapped up in her family problems. She said that she had to be strong for everyone. Vicki began to cry. Kyle took her into an embrace. Then, they looked at each other and almost kissed.
Jack came back and said that he was having dinner with Diane. Did Kyle and Vicki want to join them? They both passed. Jack said that Nick would get through this, as he's stronger than he knows.
Vicki dropped her keys; Kyle picked them up and gave them to her. She thanked him for his support. Vicki got a text from Claire. They both realized they needed to get going. Vicki left Kyle alone.
