The Young and the Restless' June 30 episode was packed with emotional confrontations as Billy finally unloaded years of resentment on Jill, while Jack's desperate search for Diane brought Traci and Kyle even closer to the terrifying truth.

Billy Finally Confronts Jill

Jill was offended that Billy stopped calling her Mom and only referred to her as Jill. He was furious with her for being so adamant that he have no involvement with Chancellor. As Billy raised his voice, Cane intervened to calm Billy down, reminding him of Jill's recent health crisis.

Billy demanded that his faux bro stay out of his business, but Jill unsurprisingly sided with her surrogate son. She accused Billy of being paranoid, but he believed he was accurately reading the room. Billy wanted Chancellor more than anything, and now it was in Cane's hands. After everything Cane had done under the alias of Aristotle Dumas, this felt like a major slap in Billy's face.

Billy wasn't thrilled with Cane being handed Chancellor by Lily. However, that wasn't the problem he had with Jill. Their issues went long and far above that, and he asked Cane to walk away from the table so he and Jill could continue their discussion.

Jill denied having any sort of agenda against Billy, but he felt chopped down by her at every corner. Billy could barely look at his mother. He begged her to explain why she had never stood firmly behind him. Why was she incapable of believing in her son's ability to be successful?

Jill pleaded with Billy to talk through their issues with her, but now that he had expressed some of his frustrations, he was deeply afraid of what her answer might be. To squash any doubt in Billy's mind, Jill confessed that she was the secret investor in Abbott Communications.

That may have been Jill's last-ditch effort, but it wasn't enough for Billy. He felt as if it was pity assistance, meant to appease him since he failed everywhere else. She asked him to stop allowing his jealousy of Cane to keep him stuck in place.

Cane made a stop at Crimson Lights, and he filled Lily in about his first day at Chancellor and the blood feud taking place at the GCAC. It sounded as if Cane truly wanted Billy to find his way in life, even if he refused to see that himself.

Kyle and Traci Fear the Worst

Kyle made another attempt to reach his father, but Jack still wasn't answering. He ran into Traci at Society, and she demanded to know what was going on with Jack. The belief was that Diane was being held hostage by the doctor, but Jack going missing upped the sense of urgency in this ongoing ordeal.

Traci and Kyle panicked at the thought of Jack walking into a trap. If Patty spotted Jack showing up to be Diane's white knight, she could become unglued in a way that everyone was deeply afraid of. Laurence threatened to revise his opinion of Patty if she didn't stand down a bit.

After Patty's role in Colleen's tragic death, Traci hoped to never hear that monster's name again. Instead, she was forced to vacate her home so Patty could settle in. Traci wanted she and Kyle to attempt a rescue mission of their own, but it wasn't necessarily the best idea.

Diane Plays the Long Game

Patty confessed to Laurence that she was concerned about being a danger to others. She was supposedly reformed, but he refused to play along. However, she quickly reminded him that she stopped him from being discovered by Jack. Beyond that, he informed her that there was no way Jack bought into her fairy tale. He was stringing her along until he was able to successfully rescue his wife.

Patty referred to Laurence as Larry, proving once again that he wasn't as legitimate as he claimed to be. She was on the verge of losing her temper with him. This was becoming dangerous for everyone involved, and he wanted to pump the brakes on their plan.

Patty declined, as she preferred they expedite matters. Securing Jack as her husband was her primary objective, and it was becoming far too difficult to break their bond. Laurence was certain that Jack and Diane were still just as strong. Patty warned him that if she went down, she was taking everyone with her, which, coming from her, was a promise, not a threat.

Patty made a quick exit after he warned her that Diane was awake and on her way out there. Once Diane was in the living room, she asked Laurence who the voices belonged to. He swiftly came up with a plausible explanation, and she continued to play the long game with him.

Diane realized she was transferring her issues with Jack onto Laurence, and she was looking forward to having another session. She was getting inside Laurence's head, and he wasn't even aware of it. Diane was perhaps on the verge of securing her freedom if she could just hang on a bit longer.
