This week on The Young and the Restless, Nick was stunned when Victor invited Matt to live at the ranch. Victor proposed that Matt befriend Cane to spy on him and report back to Victor, and Victor would have the charges against Matt dropped in return. Matt was afraid he’d revert to his evil ways, but he eventually agreed to the deal after Nick begrudgingly supported Victor’s plan.

Nikki confronted Victor about allowing Matt to stay at the ranch. As they bickered, Nikki was visibly struck with a painful headache. Nikki’s vision blurred as she staggered up to her hotel suite.

Adam and Victoria invited Cane to a meeting under the ruse of setting aside their differences to coexist in the same town. Adam introduced Matt to Cane as a family friend. Adam feigned being irritated when Matt fawned over Cane’s success as Aristotle Dumas. Cane left open the possibility of meeting with Matt for drinks sometime. Adam reported to Victor that Matt was all in on their plan.

Phyllis was stunned when Victor offered to give her what remained of Arabesque as a token of gratitude for saving Nick’s life. Victor pressured Phyllis into giving her word that she wouldn’t expose Matt’s past misdeeds to those who didn’t know who he was. Phyllis and Lauren later made plans to rebuild Arabesque together.

Lily asked Cane to run Chancellor for her. Malcolm returned to town and thanked Cane for saving his life. Cane admitted that he’d donated his bone marrow partly to impress Lily but also because he harbored regrets about not being able to save his own father. Cane confessed to Malcolm that he was still in love with Lily and promised never to hurt her. Cane accepted Lily’s job offer.

Stephanie announced that she had been offered a job as chief of staff at Genoa City Memorial, and she was pleased when Holden was thrilled by the idea of her moving back to town. Malcolm and Holden started to get to know one another better.

Adam made a sincere effort to try to end the hostility between him and Billy, but Billy maintained that they would never stop hating each other. Billy was livid when Lily informed him that Cane would be running Chancellor for her. Billy warned that Cane couldn’t be trusted, but Lily stood behind her decision.

Noah and Sienna successfully hosted a soft opening of Genoa City’s version of The Shadow Room. Serving as the solo bartender, Sienna was starstruck when Danny jumped behind the bar to assist her. Audra and Holden separately had flashbacks of the art dealer’s death in L.A., with Sally and Claire observing the nervous glances between the two. Lily invited Cane to be her date at the opening, and they shared a passionate kiss on the dance floor.

Nick attended a Narcotics Anonymous meeting with Nikki and became emotional as he admitted he was an addict to the group. Sharon learned that Mariah had made significant progress and could be released soon. Phyllis broke down as she made another attempt to reach out to Summer.
