At the ranch, the Newman clan could only fret about Nick. Victoria thought they shouldn't have told him the truth about Marie. "We didn't need to tell him about his friend overdosing. Talk about triggering. And now he's out there doing God knows what and we put him there," she said.

Victoria could feel something bad coming. Adam insisted that they had to be the one to tell him because the news wouldn't have stayed a secret forever. Victor grew weary of the bickering and demanded that Adam and Victoria stop the arguing.

Adam knew how close Nick and Marie had become when he was in rehab, explaining that she had already OD'd in Nick's motel room bed. Adam worried that Nick might feel responsible for this relapse and go after someone looking for revenge. That alarmed Victor, so he sent Adam to go find his brother.

After Adam did as he was told, Victor tried to be encouraging. He was sure that Nick would be all right, but Victoria seemed to be in a panic. An antsy Victoria finally left. Nikki then opened up to Victor and told him that her own addiction to alcohol may have been an awful example for their son. Victor told his sweetheart not to worry.

Nikki noted that there was one person who seemed to be doing everything to keep their family intact. "Adam. And who would have imagined that?" she asked.

Sharon Does Her Job

Sharon was surprised when an angry Nick came barreling into Crimson Lights demanding to know if Joe the drug dealer had returned. He explained that Marie had OD'd, which explained why Joe had taunted Nick that he had seen Marie earlier. A distraught Nick told Sharon that Marie didn't really have a family. She had nobody.

Sharon was alarmed by Nick's mental state and gently suggested that he call the police and not try to handle this on his own. Sharon feared Nick would relapse, but he assured her that he had no desire to use. Sharon pointed out that going after a drug dealer wouldn't help.

Nick tried to assure Sharon that he wasn't trying to be a vigilante, but Sharon knew better. She calmly told Nick that he had been there for Marie when she'd needed him, but Nick felt he could have done more.

When Adam showed up, Nick knew that Victor had sent him. Adam just didn't want Nick to be alone. The family was terrified he'd relapse, just as Sharon was. Sharon informed Adam that Nick had been looking for his drug dealer as some sort of revenge for Marie's relapse. Like Sharon, Adam urged Nick to call the police. Nick said they just needed to trust that he knew what he was doing.

Nate and Stephanie dine at the GCAC, where Nate updates Stephanie on the condition of his hands. He'd be getting those bandages off soon, but he wasn't sure when he'd be ready to make some of his amazing barbecue sauce and ribs. Stephanie had no complaints about Nate's hands when they were in bed.

Their moment was interrupted when Lily approached and asked to speak to Nate alone for a bit. When Stephanie walked away, Lily didn't waste any time telling Nate that her cancer might have returned. She had been hiding the fact that an enlarged lymph node had been found during her latest checkup and she was waiting for test results from a biopsy in Chicago.

Nate felt that if it was cancer, it was caught early, which meant that Lily had a good prognosis. Lily was still scared, but didn't want to tell anyone until she knew more. Nate agreed that was the best plan. Lily poured out all her fears to Nate. The chance of a cancer recurrence was always in the back of her head.

Nate reminded Lily there have been so many medical advances since she had cancer before. Cancer was no longer a death sentence. Nate would be there for Lily every step of the way if she got bad news.

The Scene at Society

Abby played the happy little hostess at Society when she greeted Sally and Billy at their table and made small talk about the wedding and upcoming arrival. She was sure they had to know the sex of the baby, but they said they were waiting and all they could do was guess.

After Abby walked away, the pair joked about baby names. The took the jokes even further when Abby brought them little pink and blue cupcakes. They wondered if they should name the baby cupcake. Suddenly, Sally said she liked the name Dylan.

At the bar, Phyllis sat down next to Cane and asked him if they had a deal. Cane wasn't ready to give Phyllis an answer yet. It's not like he has had a lot of time to think about her offer yet. Phyllis pushed some more, so Cane offered to tentatively sell her the GCAC and the building she wanted across from the NE building.

Cane wanted to know what Phyllis was really up to, but Phyllis refused to reveal her secrets. She would just say that she was about to change things in every direction, so Cane looked forward to seeing what she could do. Phyllis warned him that she'd go after Chancellor next. Cane welcomed the challenge.

When Lily arrived, Phyllis walked off. Cane told Lily about his tentative real estate deal with Phyllis, but was more concerned about Lily. He wondered why she had suddenly taken off for Chicago. Lily lied and said it was just a quick business trip. Cane could tell that something was off with Lily, but she just blamed it on exhaustion.

Do you think Lily's cancer has definitely returned? Are you enjoying Stephanie and Nate as a couple? Sound off in the comments.
