On the Tuesday, October 13, 2026, episode of The Young and the Restless, Lily broke down and told Cane about her possible cancer, Billy got bad news about Jilly, Phyllis gloated some more, and Matt made his move with Sharon.
About Lily and Cane

Lily and Nate met up at the Chancellor Park Cafe where they each updated the other on their medical conditions. Rehab for Nate's hand was going well, but Lily was stressed because her tests were inconclusive, so she needed to undergo more. Nate acknowledged that could sometimes happen.
Lily could barely believe that she had to do this all over again when cancer was supposed to be a part of her past.
"Why am I dealing with this again? What did I do wrong?" Lily asked. Nate told Lily she could deal with whatever came next. She just didn't want to.
Nate warned Lily to stay away from Dr. Google, but he also wanted her to tell Cane and lean on him for support. Why would Lily not want to turn to him and jeopardize their relationship by keeping such a massive secret? "I don't want this to ruin anything. I don't want our lives to change," Lily admitted.
Nate promised Lily he would also be there for her and would even take her place at Winters if need be. After all, he had his share of experience in the corporate world. But Cane would also be by her side, Nate reminded Lily.
At Society, Billy worried when Jill told him that she wouldn't be able to make the wedding after all because she had to have more medical tests. Billy was now worried about his mother, but Cane wanted him to focus on the wedding. He'd try to get more information from Jill.
When Lily arrived, Billy took off and met with Sally at the Chancellor Park Cafe. He filled her in on the news about Jill, but promised her that they were going to have the perfect wedding, no matter what.
Back at Society, Cane once again asked what was going on with Lily, so she finally broke down and told him. "My cancer may have come back," she said. All Cane could do was take Lily into his arms.
They sat down to talk about things, so Lily went into detail and told him how the tests in Chicago had been inconclusive. She needed more tests, but at least she'd have Cane by her side. He promised to support Lily through this and reminded her that everything might be perfectly fine.
Lily said she felt like a weight had been lifted by telling him. Cane wanted Lily to share her feelings with him, but also to distract her from worry. He promised Lily that they would get through this ordeal as a team.
Phyllis' Big Day

Phyllis was in a state of joy and disbelief when Daniel said he would work with her. He could be a co-CEO, because everyone in Genoa City is a co-CEO of something. When Danny and Christine wandered in, they were curious about what was going on. What was the fuss all about?
Phyllis couldn't wait to gloat and tell them her good news. She even got a table for the four of them and made a happy announcement. She now owned the GCAC and other properties in the area. Not only that, but her incredible so would be by her side now and help her take Arabesque to places she had only dreamed of. This was surprising news to Danny and Christine.
Daniel felt uncomfortable because he didn't want his father and Chris to find out like this. He had wanted to break the news himself. When Lauren arrived, she took Phyllis aside, leaving Daniel to talk to Danny. Daniel assured his dad that Phyllis had bullied him into working with her.
Danny and Chris remained pragmatic and could understand why Phyllis' offer was appealing. After all, Daniel was now working in a bar but would become a CEO. Daniel thought he could help keep his mother centered, which Christine scoffed at. She felt that Daniel was a glutton for punishment.
Danny was much more supportive of Christine and understood that Daniel wanted to try something new. At least Phyllis was entering into a legitimate business venture and wasn't attempting to do anything crazy and illegal this time. After Daniel left, Christine told Danny that she worried about Daniel. What if he was setting himself up for another fall?
At the bar, Phyllis filled Lauren in on all her new business adventures and bragged that Daniel was going to work with them. She was ready to rename the company, but Lauren convinced her not to. She also wanted Phyllis to let go of her obsession with Victor. Yes, she could brag, but this wasn't a revenge project.
Matt Terrifies Sharon

When Nick returned to the ranch, he told Victor about his meeting with Burrow, but his main concern was a missing Matt. Nick worried that both Matt and Patty were on their way back to Genoa City. Both men were glad that Matt had saved Nick, but they didn't see him as a changed man.
Victor and Nick were both ready to handle Matt, but Victor worried that this was too much for his son to take on. Nick was confident that he could face whatever was to come from Matt.
As for Matt, his obsession with Sharon returned. He watched her at Crimson Lights before following her home and lurking at the window. When he snuck right into her living room, Sharon was in a state of shock, but tried to keep her cool.
Do you think Matt will really hurt Sharon? Is Daniel making a big mistake by agreeing to work with his mother? Sound off in the comments.
