On the Tuesday, October 20, 2026, The Young and the Restless, Billy deals with devastating news before getting the most shocking news of his life.
Bad News for Billy and Cane

Fresh off the high of marrying the pregnant woman of his dreams, Billy gets bad news from his Uncle Snapper. Billy and Cane take a call from Snapper, telling them that Jill has had a heart attack. Snapper wasn't even sure that his sister could survive surgery.
Billy remained silent as Cane asked Snapper to put the phone to Jill's ear so he could talk to her. He told Jill that Sally and Billy had just married and the ceremony was beautiful.
"Sally was beaming, and you should have seen Billy. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. We miss you, so get some rest, get strong, and you know, follow the doctor's orders. We all love you," Cane said.
Billy listened in and wiped away a tear. He also missed a call from Adam, who had some news. When they hung up with Snapper, Billy was a mess and wondered how this could have happened.
"What's happening? She was just here two months ago. She looked great. She looked incredible," Billy said.
Cane reminded Billy that his mother had been living with a heart condition for years and they always knew that something like this could happen. Billy wanted to find another specialist, but Cane thought maybe they should just listen to Jill's current medical team.
When Cane suggested they go to London to be with Jill, Billy pointed out that he had just gotten married and his new wife was about to give birth. Travel wasn't exactly feasible at the moment. Billy feared that Jill would die and never have a chance to meet her new grandchild.
Billy was torn. He wasn't able to say goodbye to John when he died. Cane acknowledged that his father wasn't a good man, but he was still glad that he was there for him until the end. Cane reminded Billy that while Jill would be happy to see him, Billy was his son.
Billy wasn't sure what to do, but he felt that Sally would have the answer.
The Reception

The guests gathered and partied in the jazz lounge and marvelled at what a wonderful wedding this was. Shirley said she had to come see if the groom was as lovely in person as he was on video. Chelsea was glad that Sally was her friend and she was allowed back into the fold. Shirley thought that Billy had much better potential than Adam as a mate.
Ashley knew something would go wrong or at least cause chaos. That was what always happened at weddings, so she was expecting it to happen here.
"I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm just saying these gatherings, they scream for drama, right? Something's gonna happen," she said. "You're probably right," Lily agreed.
Traci asked Lily if Mattie and Charlie would be coming home any time soon. She hoped so. "Cane and the kids are getting along better, and it would be nice to have the family back together," she said.
When Billy barrelled in looking for Sally, nobody knew where she was. Nobody knew where Adam was either. A frantic Billy took Jack aside and told him the news about Jill.
Audra found Billy and told him that Sally was upstairs, but to leave her be for now. Billy didn't care. He told Audra there was a situation and rushed out. Jack gave his sisters the news, while Cane did the same with Lily. She told him to go to London, but he didn't want her to be alone when she got her test results.
A Birthday Upstairs

While a devastating phone call and a reception took place downstairs, Sally's water broke upstairs while she argued with Adam. He tried to rush out to find Billy, but Sally didn't think there was time. Adam called Billy instead, but Billy did not answer. Unfortunately, Sally's phone was with Audra. (Why did Adam not call Sally's phone so Audra could answer it?)
Adam yelled down the hall and tried using the landline, but had no luck. Sally told him that her contractions were coming one on top of the other and he was going to have to deliver her baby. Adam said he could do this. After all, he'd delivered two babies before.
Sally lay on the bed in fear and agony as Adam told her to breathe. "It's not Ava," she reminded herself. "I am determined that this baby is healthy and this baby is strong."
Adam pointed out the blankets he had ready and told Sally she could do this, so she did. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl. Sally asked Adam to go get Billy, but Billy arrived before Adam could walk out the door. He was stunned when he saw Sally in bed, holding their baby.
"Come meet your daughter," Sally said. Billy rushed over to her. As the newlyweds gushed over their new baby, Adam silently looked away.
Another Soap at the Ranch

In an entirely different storyline across town, Mariah had a long talk with her mother. Sharon told Mariah that Nick had taken Matt to the mental health clinic and she was going to be his therapist and help him get better. Sharon believed that Matt just needed someone to hold him accountable for all he had done. She was sure that they could finally have peace if Matt was healed.
When Nick returned, he told them that Matt had checked himself in without trouble. Sharon said she would call later and check on him. Both Mariah and Nick once again told Sharon that was a bad idea.
After Mariah left, Nick said he wanted to check on Marie, but he also pleaded with Sharon to forget about Matt and move on. Sharon wanted Nick to stop worrying about worst-case scenarios. So, Nick used the Noah card. Sharon understood his point and promised to think about things.
