Y&R Recap October 21: Billy and Sally Name Their Baby as Lily Gets Big News

On the Wednesday, October 21, 2026, episode of The Young and the Restless, the wedding guests celebrated the birth of Genoa City's newest power player.

Billy Holds His Baby

As Adam stood to the side and nervously watched the happy newlyweds with their new baby, Sally told Billy that their little girl was the best wedding present she could have ever asked for. Billy was still in a state of shock and insisted they get to the hospital right away, but Sally wanted Billy to hold his daughter.

When Billy went into the bathroom to wash his hands, Sally had a moment alone with Adam and thanked him for all his help. What he did was amazing.

"I never thought I was going to get a girl. She's perfect," Sally gushed. "I almost convinced myself I wasn't having a girl. Ava can never be replaced."

When Adam said he thought it was time to go, Sally asked him to tell her family and loved ones where she was and that she'd had her baby. When Billy returned, he held his baby for the very first time and beamed.

It was an emotional moment as Billy told Sally how amazing she was and they marvelled about how lucky they were. Sally couldn't wait for her grandmother and sister to meet the baby before they had to leave.

In the hotel hall, Adam called Chelsea and told her to meet him at the entrance. He seemed like something was wrong when he said he had to go home and change. When Chelsea saw all the blood on Adam's shirt, she was alarmed and thought he had gotten into a fight. Adam corrected her and told her that he had just delivered Sally's baby.

A shocked Chelsea knew that had to be an emotional moment for Adam, but called him a hero. Adam was a complete wreck. "I couldn't keep them safe the first time," he said, telling Chelsea that he couldn't be alone right now.

Back at the Reception

Cane was ready to head to London and had Lauren arranging flights. He and Lily both worried about where Billy was. They knew he'd regret it for the rest of his life if he didn't get to say goodbye to his mother. Cane grew agitated and decided that he'd just travel without Billy. Lily tried to remain optimistic and reminded him of how strong Jill was. There was a still a possibility that she could pull through.

Across the room, the Abbotts were in deep discussion about Jill and worried for Billy. Traci hoped he could make amends with Jill before it was too late. Traci and Ashley sat down and gave Abby a history lesson about their former stepmother.

"She got under my skin like nobody else. I'm sure she can say the same thing about me, though," Ashley said. "She was so brazen and bold. She went after everything she wanted," Traci concurred.

At the bar, Kyle found Victoria, and told her about Jill. Victoria was stunned and her heart broke for Billy. She walked away because she needed to find Johnny and Katie. Jack and Diane questioned Kyle about his chat with Victoria. A flustered Kyle explained that he'd told her about Jill.

At another table, Audra and Coco had a little talk about Billy. Coco wanted Audra's thoughts. Audra had her reservations about Billy at first, but she knew that Sally loved him and that was all that counted. She believed this marriage would last. Suddenly, Chelsea appeared and told the ladies that they needed to get to Sally's suite right away.

The ladies did as told as they arrived in Sally's suite, along with Shirley. The proud great-grandma announced that she would be Gigi from now on rather than Gram-Grams. When Audra wanted to tell the guests the news, Sally suggested she just say that Sally was in labor and went to the hospital. They needed to enjoy the party and not be distracted by a birth. Audra left to do just that, but not before telling the new arrival she'd be the best dressed girl in town.

After Audra left, Billy called Cane to fill him in. Cane was happy for Billy and assumed he wasn't going to London. Billy didn't want to leave his new wife and daughter, but what if this was the last moments he would ever have with his mother. He thought he could leave the next morning. Cane was leaving that night, so Billy asked that he tell Jill that he loved her and she had a brand-new granddaughter to live for.

Billy returned to Sally, the ladies, and the baby to talk names. Thankfully, Electra Spectra was off the table or she might end up being a whiny jewelry designer who thinks the world must cater to her.

Instead, the women in the room decided that Ruby would be a perfect name. Billy had a middle name in mind, but didn't want to say it out loud just yet. After the ladies filed out, the paramedics got Sally ready for the hospital. Sally asked Billy what was really going on. He didn't want to bother her it and said he would fill her in later.

Back at the jazz lounge, Audra couldn't contain herself and told everyone Sally has gone into labor. Jack immediately called Billy to congratulate him. Abby and Kyle were amazed by the news, but when Kyle asked his cousin to dance, she complained that her feet hurt. Abby suggested that Kyle dance with Victoria instead.

So, that is what he and Victoria did. They also snuck off together and hoped that nobody would notice.

On the other side of the room, Lily got a notification about her test results. Traci told her to find Cane right away. Lily couldn't help herself and looked at the results without him. After glancing, she rushed to find Came and told him that the results were negative. She did not have cancer.
