Y&R Recap October 22: Billy and Sally Bring Their Baby Home...Adam and Chelsea Visit

On the Thursday, October 22, 2026, episode of The Young and the Restless, Billy and Sally bring their baby home, Victor gets news and gives news, and Adam and Chelsea pay a visit.

The Next Morning

At the ranch, Victor informs Nick that Jill had a serious heart attack. He was affected by the news, as he had always respected Jill, despite going to war with her a time or two. Nick tried to remain optimistic, reminding his father of his own health woes that he survived.

Then, Nick dropped the big bombshell on his dad. He had stopped into Sharon's the night before and found Matt there having some sort of mental breakdown. He even wanted Sharon to be his therapist and she agreed. Nick thought that Matt had either genuinely lost it or was putting on quite an act.

Victor wanted to speak to Matt, calling him a "menace," but Nick explained that he had taken Matt to the mental health clinic where he had voluntarily checked himself in. Victor could not believe that Nick was the one who drove him there and worried that Matt could break out at any time. What is to stop him from going after their family?

Adam's Emotional Moments

As Adam and Chelsea have breakfast at the GCAC, Chelsea can tell that Adam is not okay and tries to get him to open up after the night before.

"I don't know how I'm feeling. I wish I could put it into words, but I can't. To tell you the truth, I really don't know," Adam said.

Chelsea wanted some alone time with Adam, so they went down to the jazz lounge and asked him to open up. "I'm feeling confused, shell-shocked, happy, relieved, sad. I'm not even sure there's a proper name to describe it all," Adam said.

Adam said that all he could think of in the moment was that he had to get it right. He couldn't let Sally lose another baby. Chelsea reminded Adam that he did just that and Sally had a healthy baby. When Adam held the baby, he felt this overwhelming joy, but then an overwhelming sadness when he thought about Ava.

Chelsea wanted to help Adam, so he said he really wanted to see Sally and the baby. Chelsea was fine with that idea. She'd even go with him and thought Billy might surprise them with his attitude.

Newlyweds and Baby Arrive Home

Sally and Ruby must have checked out just fine, because the newlyweds are already home from the hospital with their new addition. Sally felt blessed and told Billy that she had everything she ever wanted. However, Sally could still tell that there was something wrong with Billy and knew it had to be about that phone call he had made.

"You keep saying that it can wait and we can't talk about it later, but we can't. Please, tell me," Sally implored. "I really don't want to start our new life with a secret."

Billy finally confessed that his mother had a heart attack and might not survive. Cane was already on his way to London to be with her. Sally insisted that Billy had to join Cane as soon as possible and told him to start packing. Billy was torn because he wanted to be with Sally and the baby.

Sally reiterated to Billy that this could be the last time he ever saw his mother. If he didn't go, he'd regret it for the rest of his life. Billy and Jill could both find some peace if Billy went. Sally was going to be by Billy's side through the good times and the bad. She wanted him to go to London.

Sally also wanted to tell Billy about the birth of his daughter, so she explained what had happened the night before in her suite. Adam had tried to get a hold of Billy, but he wouldn't pick up. Sally wanted Billy to put Adam out of his mind and imagine it was someone else who delivered the baby. It was Sally who was too scared to let Adam leave to get help.

Soon, Chelsea and Adam arrived. They fawned over the baby as Billy tried to hide his feelings. They even brought her a onesie from the GCAC. Billy finally swallowed his pride and shook Adam's hand, thanking him for all he did for Ruby and Sally.

After Sally broke the news about Jill, Adam and Chelsea left the new parents alone with their baby. Sally was grateful and surprised that Billy even shook Adam's hand. Billy admitted he couldn't be angry at someone who helped bring his child into the world.

Newmans at Society

Nikki and Victoria met for breakfast at Society, where Victoria filled Nikki in on the events at the wedding. Nikki was shocked to hear that Adam had delivered Sally's baby. She knew Billy couldn't have been too happy about that. Both Victoria and Nikki actually felt bad for Adam. They couldn't imagine what it must have felt like delivering a baby girl.

Nikki wondered how Victoria felt about Billy's new life. Victoria said she and Billy had moved on long ago. She was happy for Billy, but Nikki just hoped he didn't screw things up again, as Billy has been apt to do.

When Victor joined his ladies, he updated them about Jill. Nikki was sure it wasn't Jill's time yet. Nikki and Victoria gave Victor the big news about Sally's baby. All Victor could say was, "I'll be damned." (Is anyone shocked?) Victor then announced that Victoria needed to go to London to finish a deal.
