At Society, Lily announced to Devon and Nate that her test results were negative. Lily revealed that Cane had gone to London after he’d learned Jill had suffered a heart attack. “Cane to the rescue again,” Devon muttered. Lily defended that Cane would do anything for the people he loved. “Especially himself,” Devon huffed. Lily asked her brother what it would take for him to let go of his anger and give Cane a chance.

Devon refused to forget what Cane had done to hurt Lily and the twins. He thought she was trying to push the cold, hard facts to the back of her mind. Lily asserted that she’d decided to move on and asked Devon to do the same because she and the twins wanted Cane in their lives. Devon agreed to try, but he warned it would take time.

Devon shared that the Neil Winters College was slated to start offering courses in the fall, and he planned to ask Traci and Daniel to teach creative writing and graphic arts, respectively. Devon inquired whether Nate would consider doing guest lectures, but Nate wasn’t sure he could find the time. Lily hoped Nate meant he’d be performing surgery and not be busy at Winters. She declared that as CEO of Winters, she was officially firing him.

Nate opted to stick around the company after the scare Lily had been through. Nate proclaimed that working with his cousins had meant everything, and it had healed them in ways he couldn’t have hoped for. Devon said he was happy they were all following their hearts, and Lily encouraged Nate not to wait to make it happen. Nate happily accepted his pink slip, and Lily chirped that they were all exactly where they belonged.

Audra stopped by to visit Sally and Ruby and asked if Sally had gotten any sleep since the baby had been home. Sally shared that she’d clocked a couple hours, but Ruby had already grown a lot. Audra balked when Sally offered to let her hold the baby, but Sally placed Ruby in Audra’s arms. Audra hoped Sally knew how lucky she was.

Audra hesitantly inquired whether it was bittersweet for Sally to have a girl. Sally admitted that she’d had that fear at first, but she believed Ava didn’t want her to have anything but joy for Ruby. Audra confided that holding Ruby stirred up emotions for her, and Sally assured Audra that she’d have a chance to be a mom again one day. Audra swore that she had an incredible life without a man on the horizon.

Audra worried about how Sally was doing without Billy there to help. Sally replied that she didn’t want him to miss anything, so she’d been trying to record everything. Audra wondered if being a mother felt like something Sally was born to do, and she thought Sally would ace it. Sally teared up and confessed that she’d been on overdrive, making sure everything was perfect for Ruby.

Sally cried that being responsible for another human was overwhelming. Sally explained that she’d been overthinking every cry, and she kept checking to see if Ruby was breathing. Sally whimpered that after losing Ava, she didn’t ever want anything bad to happen to Ruby. Sally added that her entire life’s mission had become to keep Ruby safe, and she couldn’t stop thinking of ways she could fail. Audra comforted her.

Audra implored Sally to accept that there was no way she could protect her child from every possible danger. Audra reflected on how she and Sally had become strong, self-sufficient women because they’d been raised without anyone hovering over them. Audra urged Sally to ask for help when she needed a break. Sally admitted that allowing someone to take over was difficult.

Sally checked her email and marveled at the fires Audra had put out without her. Audra gently scolded Sally for worrying about business while on maternity leave. Sally refused to take a step back because she’d had a baby. Audra prepared to set up shop on the sofa so Sally could focus on being a happy, well-rested mama.

Victoria called Victor from the Newmans' London apartment to let him know she’d arrived safely. As she stood in the romantically decorated, candlelit living area, she assured him that her sole focus was work. Victoria received a text message from Kyle, letting her know he was on his way from the airport. She told Victor she knew exactly how to seal the deal.

There was a knock at the door, and Victoria was shocked to see Billy when she checked the peephole. Billy thought he heard someone inside, and he called out to ask if Victoria was staying there. Kyle sent another message to let Victoria know he was almost there, and she responded to ask him to let her know before he went up to the apartment. She watched Billy walk away.

A short time later, there was another knock, and Victoria hurriedly pulled Kyle inside. Kyle was shocked to hear that Billy had just been there. Victoria explained that Billy was in London to see Jill, and she anticipated that he might try to track her down again. She amorously imagined it could add to the excitement if she and Kyle kept the door locked.

Victoria led Kyle to a spread of London’s finest delicacies and Champagne. Kyle mentioned that he intended to head to Paris the next day to lend credibility to the cover story he’d given his family, and he invited her to tag along. Between kisses, they disrobed as they envisioned stopping in hotels all across Europe.

Force of Nature

Billy joined Cane at a pub and mentioned stopping by to see Victoria to talk about how to address Jill’s condition with their kids. Cane assured him that Jill was slowly recovering after her surgery. Billy willed himself to believe his mother would be okay after seeing her so weak. Cane asserted that Jill would be a force again, and they toasted to Jill’s strength and fighting spirit.

Lauren sent a message to report that Jill would be asleep for a while. Billy bemoaned that it had almost killed him when Jill had tried to speak but couldn’t. Billy wished she’d yell at him because then he’d know she was feeling better. Billy considered provoking an argument with her, and Cane accused him of making everything about himself. The men argued, and Billy eventually apologized. Cane swore that he wanted what was best for Billy, and he was sure Jill would tell Billy the same thing when she was strong enough.

Meanwhile, Victoria and Kyle cuddled under a blanket on the patio. She worried about going out in public together with Billy in town, and she pledged to be extra cautious. Victoria decided to track Billy down to avoid him looking for her again. Victoria exited the apartment and was startled to run into Billy outside.
