On the Wednesday, October 7, 2026, episode of The Young and the Restless, Sharon and Phyllis worried about Nick, Matt argued with the voices in his head, Adam and Billy argued, and Diane came up with a plan.
Wedding Woes

At Crimson Lights, Michael made some small talk with Sally and Billy about the bachelor party. When Esther brought up Gloria's family cruise, Michael reminded Sally and Billy that they are marrying each other's families, as well. Esther was thrilled when Sally invited her to her bachelorette party.
When Chelsea and Audra arrived, they had news for Sally. Most of the Marchetti invites couldn't make it to the bachelorette party. Oddly, more people kept texting to say they wouldn't be there, which seemed awfully suspicious. As the women discussed, Billy made his exit to the patio.
That's where he ran into Adam and things got tense. Billy told Adam that he could have said no to Chelsea. There was no reason for him to come to the wedding, but Adam thought that they could be adults about the situation. The ladies overheard the argument, which caused Audra to burst in and take the men to task.
She gave them a lecture on how this was Sally's day and nobody was going to ruin it, least of all these two men. Adam and Billy realized they were being immature and agreed to find a way to get along for Sally's sake.
More Party Talk...And Nikki

At the Abbott mansion, Jack and Diane discussed the bachelor party. Jack assured his wife that there were no plans for strippers. Right on cue, Nikki showed up, prompting Diane to shout out, "I thought you said there weren't going to be any strippers."
Nikki held her head high and sneered, claiming she was not ashamed of her past. When Jack received a call, he made the mistake of leaving Nikki and Diane alone together in the same room. The women immediately went to battle over makeup. Diane bragged about the new Jabot Classics line, while Nikki announced that they were on. This war would be exhilarating for her.
Diane told Nikki that Victor always had to prop her up. Nikki felt she could stand on her own and battle Diane on her own terms. When Jack returned to the room, the ladies gave no indication that they had just been arguing.
Nikki brought up the subject of Nick and told Jack what had happened with Marie. That concerned Jack, especially after Nikki told him that Nick was refusing to go to meetings. Jack said he had offered to be Nick's sponsor, but Nick had turned him down. This was in Nick's hands now and they had to wait.
Later, Diane met with Michael at the Chancellor Park Cafe and told him all about her plans to destroy Vibrante before Nikki even got started. Michael warned her that she could get herself into trouble. Diane was confident she could pull something off because Jack had given her complete power to do whatever she wanted professionally.
The Ambush

An emotional Sharon called Phyllis and told her that she had to come right over. Sharon was worried about Nick and they needed to talk. After she hung up, the man of the hour showed up at her front door. Like Mariah and Nikki, he was impressed with Sharon's new empty-nester home decor.
When Phyllis arrived, Nick wondered if this was all a plan. Maybe he was being ambushed by his ex-wives. When Phyllis and Sharon noticed the bruises on his knuckles, Nick tried to hightail it out of there, but the women wouldn't allow him to leave.
Phyllis was sure that Nick had to be using again and was worried that Joe and Marie were a part of his life again. They were no good, but she could help him in the same way that she had helped Jack kick addiction. Nick admitted that he thought things were going great, but then all this stuff with Marie and Joe happened.
Phyllis lost it when she heard Marie was back in the picture. "I don't care about her story. The person I care about is you," Phyllis said. "I know firsthand what it's like to kick addiction. I helped Jack through that, remember? And I am going to help you and support you with no judgment."
Sharon thought that Nick needed professional help, but Phyllis objected. She gave Nick another lecture.
"Stop trying to be a hero. That is how you got here. Trust your family. Trust the people who love and support you. We love and support you," she said.
After they argued back and forth some more, Phyllis had an idea. Maybe they all needed to get out and do something together, so off to the GCAC they went.
Matt's Internal Debate

After crashing his car and losing Patty, a dejected Matt returned to the Riverbank Motel and wondered if he should warn people that Patty was on the loose. When he looked in the mirror and saw the sorry state he was in, the voices in his head began to speak.
The voice reminded Matt that being kind made him weak. That good guy had to have died in that crash, right? Matt insisted he was not a bad guy. He had done all those awful things because of his abusive childhood.
"People did bad things to me. I was abused, neglected, so I hit back. And I got good at that, so I decided to hit first to protect myself," he said. "I can't do this anymore. I need to heal."
He insisted that he could change if he just had a chance to finally heal. Matt was sure he could be the good guy that Phyllis saw.
"I want to be the guy that Phyllis thinks I am. I want to be someone she can trust and rely on. I want to feel free from hatred, free from violence," Matt said, in tears. The voice in the mirror told Matt he was who he would always be. Matt fell back onto the bed and cried: "Please don't let that be true. I can't. I won't."
Finally, Matt ran from the room and straight to the GCAC just as Phyllis announced to Nick and Sharon that she was the new owner of the establishment.
Is Matt going to return to the dark side? Is Diane playing with fire? Sound off in the comments.
