On the Thursday, September 10, 2026, episode of The Young and the Restless, Patty paid Matt a visit, Sharon put her plan into action, and Jack and Diane completely freaked out.
Confrontation at the Cafe

In Chancellor Park, Billy gave Audra a genuine compliment, telling her that she drove a hard bargain with Victoria. Audra admitted that she had a very hard time accepting compliments, before advising Billy to drop the whole Chancellor matter for good. She felt that Sally and the baby should be enough for Billy. He didn't need the Chancellor headache and neither did Sally.
"Why do you keep throwing Chancellor into the mix when it just upsets Sally and gives her nothing but grief?" Audra asked.
An angry Billy snapped at Audra, warning her to stay out of his love and business life. "And Audra, one more thing. Don't ever accuse me of putting anything above Sally or my family again," he said.
Jack vs. Diane...and Patty

Now that they have returned from their disastrous Tahiti trip, Jack and Diane are back to sparring about Nikki. Diane couldn't understand why Jack was so anxious to help her re-enter the cosmetic biz, something she hasn't worked in for decades.
"The last time Nikki was peddling cosmetics, frosted eye shadow and harsh lip liner were a thing. Welcome back to the 1990s," Diane said.
Jack just wanted Diane to accept his friendship with Nikki. Diane swore she did understand it, but she knew that Victor did not. "If it's in his orbit, he will absolutely get his greedy hands all over it," Diane exclaimed.
Jack and Diane reached an impasse and dropped the subject, but the drama was just beginning. Jack soon got a call telling him that Patty had escaped and was on the loose. As soon as Diane heard that news, she was terrified and sure that Patty was coming after her again. Jack was determined that they were going to take Patty down themselves, so he had a big idea to lure her out into the open.
Just then, Billy arrived to tell Jack that he would accept his offer to fund a start-up company. Jack was thrilled, but also preoccupied. Billy asked what was wrong, so Diane gave her brother-in-law the Patty news. Jack asked for Billy's help in catching her.
Sharon's Big Plan

Before entering Crimson Lights, Phyllis called Matt to make sure that they were good on their plan. Matt was going to save her life in front of Sharon, shocking everyone and showing them that he was a new man. Phyllis then walked in and laid it on thick with Sharon, telling her that she looked absolutely fabulous.
A confused Sharon wondered what was going on, so Phyllis just said she was sorry for being so rude the last time they saw one another. Sharon asked Phyllis if she had ever heard from Matt. Phyllis lied and said that she thought he had left town due to the way people were treating him. She worried that he could be lying on a park bench somewhere.
Sharon was sure that Phyllis was going to search for him, but Phyllis claimed that she didn't even know where to look. A mopey Phyllis admitted that she and Matt had become more than friends, but wanted Sharon to forgive her for her attitude.
"I was insensitive to who Matt was to you and how you feel about him. I know he's caused you a lot of pain and a lot of anger...I don't even know if I can be worthy of your trust again, but I do like having you in my corner," Phyllis said.
Phyllis just figured that Nick's savior complex was rubbing off on her. She wanted to save Matt, but it was a fruitless endeavor. Phyllis suddenly switched moods and asked Sharon to skip work so they could go do something fun together. It took some cajoling, but Sharon finally agreed to go to lunch.
When Sharon and Phyllis arrived for lunch at the GCAC. When Sharon went to order some drinks, Phyllis tried calling Matt to tell him to get there ASAP. She was feeling nervous and ready to chicken out.
Patty Cakes

As Matt prepared to leave for the GCAC, he was stunned when Patty appeared. Patty explained that she "accidentally" ingested some cleaning supplies and was rushed to the ER. That was when she was able to make her great escape. Patty was there to lure Matt back into a life of crime, but he wasn't interested.
Patty told him that she had followed Phyllis to find him and chastised Matt for allowing Phyllis to wrap him around her little fingers. Matt insisted that Phyllis was going to aid in his redemption. Patty just laughed that idea off, but Phyllis had turned him into a believer. "She's going to make you pay in her blood," Patty hissed.
An angry Matt grew louder as he warned Patty not to speak about Phyllis like that again in front of him. Patty wanted to team up with Matt because she felt a connection. She knew Matt couldn't change and that he shouldn't have to. There was nothing for him to apologize for. Patty also wanted Matt to help her get to see Jack. Matt refused, while also refusing to give her a hideout.
"I don't mean to be rude to you, Patty, but I am not in a position to help anyone right now...and I cannot be associated with a known, escaped felon," Matt said. "I can't force you to be my ally, but it is your loss, Matt," Patty responded.
Before Patty left, she gave Matt the number to her burner phone. He then checked his messages from Phyllis and had to decide what to do.
