At Rehab...

Nick held court at rehab again when Adam paid another visit to discuss all things Matt and Phyllis. They still didn't know how Matt had disappeared and how Phyllis was involved. Nick changed the subject to his recovery and told his brother that he thought he might be released at the end of the week.

That did not sit well with Adam, who told him it was a terrible idea. Nick thought Marie had helped him, even though her stay ended in disaster. Marie must have heard her name because she appeared out of nowhere to thank Nick for sending Michael to her. Now, she didn't have to go to prison.

Marie asked to speak to Nick alone, so Adam left. Once alone, Marie thanked Nick again, but she wasn't surprised, as he had seemed like the hero type. However, she had no intention of staying at this particular rehab. She knew she needed help and planned to get it, but not in Genoa City.

Nick had inspired Marie to want to be with her family and get well for them, so she was moving back East to be with her parents. She knew they would make her stick with a program. Before Marie left, they shared a passionate kiss, but then Nick just felt empty. He talked to his therapist and told her that he had wanted to be happy for Marie, but he just couldn't. However, he knew it was time for him to face his own life again.

News for the Newmans

When Victoria and Nikki arrive at the ranch, ready to give Victor some news, he surprises them with his own news. Nikki and Victoria are alarmed when they learn that Marie killed her husband at rehab. Victoria wanted to run to her brother, but Nikki just worried this would set Nick's recovery back.

Victor assured them that Michael was taking care of the legal aspect, and things would be okay. He just wanted them all to be there to support Nick when he arrived home. Of course, they would be, so Nikki and Victoria changed the subject and told Victor all about their plans to relaunch Vibrante with Nikki at the helm.

Victor thought that was a marvelous idea and was thrilled for the women in his life. Nikki made sure that Victor knew she had no intention of turning this into some social media war with Jabot. This was not what this new venture was all about. Victor assured his wife that was the last thing on his mind. She had nothing at all to worry about.

However, Victor wasn't as jovial when he learned that Jack Abbott knew about this new idea before he had. How could that be right? Victor understood when Nikki explained she was just giving the competition a heads-up. Before they could discuss much more, Adam walked in and told them about his visit with Nick.

Adam was pleased to report that Nick seemed to be doing better than ever and thought he could be home by the end of the week. Nikki was thrilled, but Adam remained concerned.

Plans Go Awry

At the GCAC, Sharon could tell that Phyllis was worried about something and wanted to know what was really going on. Phyllis shrugged off Sharon's concerns, so Sharon made some small talk and said they should do lunch more often. The subject of Nick and Marie came up.

"What do you think of this woman Nick has befriended in rehab?" Sharon asked. Phyllis was concerned about how close Nick and Marie had become in such a short period of time. "I think we can both agree that Marie is the last thing he needs in his life right now," Phyllis said.

Meanwhile, Matt paced his room at the Riverview Motel and imagined his plan with Phyllis going awry. He went through an entire nightmare scenario of giving Phyllis the Heimlich maneuver, but then accidentally killing her instead. Sharon was furious with him and told him that he could never change.

Back at the GCAC, Phyllis received a text from Matt telling him that he couldn't go through with their crazy plan. Phyllis told Sharon she had an emergency, leaving her dazed friend alone, wondering what just happened. Phyllis high-tailed it to the motel. Matt told her that he was afraid something would go wrong. "If anything happened to you, Phyllis, I couldn't forgive myself. I just found you. I don't want to lose you," Matt said.

Phyllis was touched, but she thought about it and didn't buy it. When she saw Patty's sunglasses, she demanded to know who they belonged to.

All About Patty

A panicked Jack informed Diane, Billy, and Kyle that Patty was on the loose, so security was on alert. Kyle was immediately sure that Victor had to be behind this, but Jack had been assured that this was all Patty on her own.

Just then, Patty called to taunt Jack and laugh about how she was able to escape. When Patty told Jack that she had no plans to bother him and was just going to leave town, Diane had an audible reaction. Jack should have been relieved to hear that, but he just wanted to lure Patty out of hiding, so he asked if she was sure she didn't want to see him.

Patty had no desire, or so she claimed, and hung up. Diane was incensed and was sure that Patty had already broken into the Abbott mansion. She didn't believe Patty for a second.

However, Patty really was sincere, but then started re-thinking things. While in the alley of the motel, she wondered if Jack really wanted to see her. As for Jack, he headed to Society with Diane and Kyle, where he promptly clutched his stomach and passed out, terrifying Diane.

What could be wrong with Jack? Will you miss Marie? Sound off in the comments.
