Y&R Recap September 16: A Day of Tantalizing Romance in Genoa City

On the Wednesday, September 16, 2026, episode of The Young and the Restless, three couples have quite an interesting and enjoyable evening. And one of those evenings can be a game-changer.

The Kitchen On Fire

Now that Billy has given up on his quest for Chancellor (for now), he's got plenty of time on his hands, so why not make his pregnant fiancée happy? Sally found it amusing to watch Billy make her a peanut butter and saurrkraut pizza from scratch to satisfy her pregnancy cravings. The dough wasn't going well, so Billy needed Sally's baking skills to step in.

Billy thought everything looked so simple on the reel he had been watching, but this was much more complicated than he'd ever imagined. Sally obliged and playfully helped Billy with his pizza-making endeavor, which did not actually include spinning dough in the air, as Billy had wanted.

When Billy put some honey on the crust, Sally licked it off his fingers and they shared a romantic kiss. When the pizza was finally in the oven, Billy told Sally about the food he used to make for his kids. He couldn't wait to have fun with this new baby, as well. The expectant parents kissed some more before deciding to take things to the bedroom. Billy made sure to also grab the honey.

After a session in the bedroom, Sally and Billy realized they had never set the oven timer, so the pizza was burnt. So, Billy and Sally had to order a pizza and a pregnant woman didn't get her cravings met.

Recovery Time

Nate and his hand have been recovering at home with Stephanie by his side as his doctor and nursemaid. She hasn't been living there, but she is there often enough. Nate answered his front door to Stephanie once again and admitted that he had been going a bit stir crazy at home. He was happy to have the company and offered Stephanie an evening of board games and wine. Stephanie gave him a warning that she'd just keep winning. Nate was attracted to Stephanie's confidence.

When Stephanie offered to cook, Nate suggested that they order in. When Nate placed an order from a Mexican on his phone, he noted it was a bit difficult because he could barely even use his fingers, but they also found that to be a bit humorous. Nate and Stephanie joked around some more, with Nate admitting that Stephanie had taken him by surprise.

Stephanie is not the person he had expected her to be. He had seen her as this buttoned-up professional, but it turned out that she knew how to have fun and he liked it. Nate had taken Stephanie by surprise, as well, which prompted Stephanie to make a confession.

The bird she had told him about that nearly died and prompted her to want to become a doctor had nearly died because of her. She got it to a vet, and that was the only reason it had lived. Nate did not care that Stephanie had fudged her story. He liked her anyway.

When one of Stephanie's songs began playing, she got up and convinced Nate to dance with her. While they danced, they also kissed as Nate told Stephanie that this felt real to him. They made it to the bedroom and the bed. Later, Stephanie admitted that her son might not like them being together, but he was also a grown adult who had to allow his mother to live her own life.

Ice Queen

The Riverbank Motel saw more action when Kyle arrived for a rendezvous with Victoria to find that the lights were out in the room. He went searching for a light switch, but Victoria's voice said, "Don't." So, he followed orders and didn't. She then gave another order to face the wall and be quiet, so Kyle obliged.

Victoria slipped a blindfold over Kyle's eyes and then ripped his shirt off, but she told him that he wasn't allowed to touch. Kyle once again did as he was told, and then enjoyed Victoria rubbing ice cubes over his chest when she got him to the bed. They had sex and discussed their relationship in the afterglow.

"So much for this being the last time," Kyle sighed. They admitted they wanted to keep doing this and had no intentions of stopping. Victoria still wanted some sort of verbal contract that stated what they were actually doing. Victoria also wondered if anyone could tell that there was something between them.

They realized they couldn't exactly have sleepovers at each other's respective places for obvious reasons and had to keep meeting at this seedy motel where everyone else has been meeting. However, they chose to leave separately, while agreeing to meet again soon.

When Kyle left, he headed straight to Crimson Lights, where Esther asked him if he wanted more ice for his iced tea. Kyle had been thinking about Victoria and ice, so he told Esther that he'd had his fill of ice for the night. Esther poured on the charm, telling Kyle that he looked handsome and assuming it was Claire who put that smile on his face.

Kyle told Esther that he and Claire were not back together, before texting Claire's mother and telling her that he would call the shots at their next meeting.

As for Victoria, when she returned home, she found Claire casually eating a pizza. Claire told her mother that she needed to stop working so hard. She needed to have a little fun in her life. Victoria agreed and noted that the pizza had all her favorite toppings. Claire remarked that great taste must run in the family. Victoria could only smile.
